At 7:30 very good demonstration why Creature Lands are so good against Control decks. They always want to use their boardwipes to clear the whole board, but with these Manlands you can push the rest of the damage needed.
Great deck Ace loved it. I've built a budget skeleton deck the cool goblin deck and having fun building tribal decks and now time to update my merfolk deck
Nice deck Ace I think it's good to have a combo that isn't needed to win personally I'm more midrangey so I don't usually have a combo win con. That being said I'm curious on what your thoughts on a BUG deck? I was playing a golgari deck and honestly blue green and black are so strong right now I'm wondering if a BUG midrange deck could have legs just wanted your thoughts on it
If you go all in on a combo and no other plan usually does not work well. Why I also Like Rakdos all will be one combo. Good solid cards that can win and then a sneaky combo win. I feel Jund, black, red, green has more synergy than sultai. Simic is so strong and dimir is so strong but they do two totally different things. Adding green in the dimir shell I don't think adds much and same with adding black into the simic shell. I think you still have a good deck but I think each is more with the third color. Just my two cents. If going midrange what green are you excited to add. Love these discussions.
@@AceMTG i honestly need to play around with it more but the 3/4 merfolk you have seems like a great mod range with the simic land too. And damn sorry I called it BUG I didn't know the new name my bad haha. I will play around with it more and maybe dimir is just too good on it's own but I don't know why I think it has some great midrange I guess I see dimir/simic/golgari as good decks and just think to my self damn the combo of all three might be a great deck especially with so many busted lands in standard at the moment. Edit: On a side note have you thought of doing a mostly creature land deck I did a four colour one and it sucked but the idea seems fun
Haha no worries. I'm the absolute worst with names so never a judgment here. I did try a creature land deck messing around but I also could not get it that good. Super fun though. @@JeffreyLangevin
I play a merfolk explore deck before murders came out with basically the same concept of this and tbh domain was the deck i would have no trouble with because going wide and you have plenty of fodder to sac to counter the sweepers
I do think this deck has legs. A few little tweaks and it should be fairly powerful. It has lots of good cards and the counter magic can be too much for control decks.
@@AceMTG I snuck in two that siren with convoke and whatever creature was convoked gets a flying counter to give about 10 tokens/other merfolk flying too
That is what I used in my old merfolk deck. Tapped our squad down and gave flying. Having trouble finding space if I want the combo. So much tinkering to do. Love it. @@tonythepokemonguy751
I really thought first time I just messed up and then really felt stupid the second time. I can see you all yelling at me. No you idiot lol. Just gotta laugh at it.
I tried Bitter Reunion and some green mana dorks but it was too inconsistent. I was going for an endless loop to power up a massive Light Up the Night but it wasn't jiving. Trying the Izzet route@@AceMTG
I really thought it would be a little more consistent. Really though if they had an infinite combo that was way too easy people would hate it. Just no fun to go against.
@acemtg Mindlink Mech makes the combo so much more consistent. The crew 1 is easy to hit and it also taps the card it copies. Also makes it possible to run the combo at instant speed on the opponents turn as opposed to the combat phase on your turn.
I appreciate you showing your mistakes because we all do it sometimes and it's nice to see how you handle your game afterwards.
Thanks. That was a real bone head move and did it twice lol. Just gotta laugh at it.
Nice upgrade! I usually use mindlink mech. It helps with token creation, an be used as evasion attack and also can copy the combo piece.
Oh I really like that idea. Good damage because easy to crew with your little merfolk and another option for the combo. Love, love this. Thanks.
30:44 I was infact screaming on the counter 🤣😂🤣
Haha I can see you all yelling. Especially when I do it again lol. Really felt I just messed up the first time so did not pay attention.
@@AceMTG its absolutely okay, I’ve just started to look for the card when it’s red I’m like (can’t counter that one!)

I love how we have lots of competitive tribal decks. I think that is so much fun in a format.
Didn’t know this guy was buff. Now I have to sub to see more.
Haha. I guess I gotta do shirtless videos for the subs lol
Combos are always fun when they can pull off.
I like decks that can hold up and has the extra win con of the combo if things go long.
@@AceMTG I get it. One day I'll figure out how to make the calendar work in a control shell lol.

Saw this on MTG Goldfish, but I am curious if this works with Izzet... I'm gonna craft it and try it and record it!
Let me know how it goes. Would be curious what red cards you will use to make it more consistent.

Interesting
To be honest that combo is pretty much impossible to pull off.
So is a few other infinites in magic

It's nice they are not consistent or everyone would do it and would be no fun.
