a guy was searching farmland with his metal detector.. his instruments go crazy and he finds a large burried tomb underground.. after days of digging, to his horror, he discovers many dead guys with medal detectors burried within the tomb.. thats the last thing he saw before an angry farmer smacked him in the head with a shovel

11:08 if you want to get right to the point (of the thumbnail)! I like to save people time, as others have done for me! And if you don't mind a spoiler...
The corpse was not "found hidden in a tree trunk" as the thumbnail implies. Excavators found a "coffin" buried in the usual way, but the coffin was made from a hollowed-out tree trunk. I feel cheated. :)

    Oh boy! Story time!
When I was a kid I always wanted a metal detector, and when I turned 14 or something, I got the AT-MAX PRO - (I absolutely and highly recommend it!) excited I went into the basement, weird I know, but I live in a historic home, where the basement is cobblestone and dirt. After an hour of finding nothing, I was disappointed, and went outside where the old shed used to be. As soon as I set foot on the grounds where it once was, I began getting a lot of signals. I marked the signals using some small branches, and began digging. The items I found were old silver household items, because the shed was where the servants of the home used to be (around 1906) and live. I was absolutely amazed, it was an old salt and pepper shaker, in almost perfect condition. I spent a week cleaning them when I had the chance to due to work, and dug more the next week. That’s where it got better, though. I dug up most of the old items, ranging from clumps of lead, iron, and some small pottery. (Broken :c ) the best find, was the day before our contractor was going to build an outdoor porch for us to use. I found the last signal I could in the area and dug it up, expecting a piece of iron or lead. I dug up a small copper necklace, or some material, I never figured it out. (Keep in mind, the servants home DID NOT have flooring. It was dirt. I eventually cleaned it and put it in the box of my finds while detecting. I aspire to find a box of coins.

"Does any one else suddenly have an irrational fear of being buried inside a tree?"
Why? Do you have a fear of being buried inside a casket? A hollowed out tree trunk isn't any different than a casket, it's still wood. Both are just a container to put a deceased body in to be buried. Personally, I like the tree trunk idea.

Yes that’s entirely true. I know where I grew up in my hometown, the property in which my pa brought back in October 13th of 1972 from the Hammond family who built the house it had to have some hidden treasures in that dirt. So I being a pretty curious and I know I found at least a few horse shoes, metal fragments and I think a few others small things. I know I actually found a 1901 Australian coin in the yard. I couldn’t believe I found something so so old and almost the time when my Pop and Grandma were pretty young. As a kid my grandma had some sideboard cupboards in her homestead and they were brought to my dads house and put under shelter and kept from being damaged.
I know it’s possible I found an Australian penny from the 1950’s and it was either found because it was dropped or found because it was in Grandma Whitfield’s side board cupboards. I asked pa about finding this penny in the yard and he said I doubt you would’ve found it in the cupboard because his (my mother are his word he spoke) mother never had any money and finding it in the dirt..part of the yard it’s most likely someone dropped it. So his like well you found it and if you keep it then it will be possibly worth a good amount of money and so in that I decided to cherish it. Still in my care but of course it’s put away from light fingers to take it and it’s a sure treasure having a 1950’s Penny and a 1901 coin be still in the hands of caretakers as I and the rest who lives here are in no way or hurry to be cashing in on these coins that were found. I found out why in my child hood’s yard we found several horseshoes and metal fragments. It was the blacksmiths for Rushworth Victoria and it really did make good sense because of our finds of horse shoes and the other things found in the yard. It’s so so ultra cool to discover you live at the address as a kid and find our what was there before we were at this address.
Two addresses were in my family’s heritage on the same road until the last was brought via virtual Auction during silly Covid and these people from Melbourne flipped it with about $ 50 grand injected to the house and it sold recently to the current people in the house because my uncle was over that way and saw things. I only called him a few weeks ago easily and he told me such. The house was an asset in an Estate and the end solution was to sell it. It’s because the upkeep and rates to the bock of land and the homestead went unpaid.
Putting someone so Sly as a snake, cunning as a vulture, so undeducted like a chicken in a hen house going berserk and a pick pocket who embezzles money from others.
Selling off and having these assets to/of an estate get paid by liquidation is something a true selfish, self centered and a true narcissistic Personality Disorder couple of greedy grubs deal with a will and a testament is dealt with. Not be sorted out by the bequest of the deceased to me so indicates into equals x 6. That’s because two greedy green grubs who aren’t intellectual enough and can do as what the instructions especially from the dumb and such a fuxked up loser honoured it to be. It’s good in ways. It’s divided up to x? and I doubt two (well one more so the culprit because they were the executor to a Will and final testament, but has a moron of a husband or de facto partner) and the father to all the wicked witch’s children. Well it’s time for a pair of embezzlers to pick out their choice of colours for a prisoner’s uniform and get use to a 10ft x 6ft cubicle called a jail cell. Oh the unfolding and the karma of the shit show I so want to be ringside at will be so so worth it.
It’s going to be a sure circus act I’ve so ever wanted to see unfold right before me. Hmm, it doesn’t pay to be a greedy grub and think oh my oldest is the first grandson so I’m all cool about letting him just do diddly squat because we can then just liquidate the vehicles, remaining $1200.00 left over from the funeral policy and spend that because it’s for us to use and it’s kept for just this group.
Hmm, to me that’s pure perjury and a gross conduct to the other beneficiaries in the abiding will and and final testament. Greed, control, intimidation, being disrespectful as and to deny my three kids at the time their grandfather passed away were under the age of 18 years and a legal adults to have the share of the trust account to any cash popped away or an asset kept especially for them. Shame when things aren’t dealt with in a fairly short time but divided up in equal parts to be put for the bequest.
It’s a real shame greed and greed is when the person who finds certain things that are from the past are not given the royalties for discovering such things in history or something in the past that lived, invented and occurred in the past on this very earth. History and learning about historical things is really a discovery in itself.
As I mentioned earlier on finding two coins in the yard of my childhood home I have these and I got a good idea of their value. Relics of old chains found by a simple metal detector and a boy who had one back in 1977..not too long before I was born. Artefacts of such things are a true find us human beings will always discover until the human beings and race are living much so still on the planet.
I did several historical electives in my years at the high school I did most of my education at. I still remember all my teachers that were teaching me such information so I could grow up and learn about this thing called life and have the education of what I gained. It’s what you take on forwards from school and may after implementing your high school education and certificate. It’s what you know and in time after discovering your artefacts and relics from the past and keep doing archeological diggings to uncover what happened in the history of the earth that your going to unearth in your findings. It’s mesmerising really when you think about it.
Great going Mr Smith with your first find by your metal detector all them around 44 years ago. You deserve to be paid for your part of a pretty important discovery you made all them yeas ago. That’s so fantastic 👍🏻

Decades ago, when I was a kid, I remember visiting a "gravesite" where someone was buried in a tree. The tree was the guy's favorite tree but it had something wrong and grew an opening at the base. When he died, he willed he was put in the opening with some other things and sealed in wax. People took the final wishes of the dearly departed far more serious than they do now... not to say people don't take them serious now. Maybe the tree got sustenance or something from his burial request because it (the tree) got better and went from a waning growth to being healthy again, closing the gap. Near the top of the gap was what looked like his face, covered in a thin layer of bark. They said spirits but I say the body probably got pushed against where the bark was closing there, the head. From what I heard, his family cut down the tree in the late 80s to move his tree-fused remains to a "proper" gravesite. The tree "bled"... its sap was red and runny. Well, it did have a core full of "impurities". I was hoping this video covered that tree... I have yet to hear about anyone covering it because I want to know more than family spoken word history.

I'm not sure if we were in the hills (Appalachian Mountain area, here in the USA) or on the home island (overseas, Ireland) at the time, we were moving a lot and not quite settled down at the time.
Oh, and if you were his family and think my tone was disrespectful to your spiritual beliefs as to what happened, I'm sorry. I mean no disrespect. I don't default to spiritual beliefs when pragmatic and simpler explanations can be used.

Metal detectors in Germany have over the last few decades found two historical battlefields from ancient times. The first is believed to be the famous battlefield on which the German chieftain Arminius slaughtered three Roman legions, over 20,000 men, in AD 9, commanded by the Roman general Varus. The second was completely unknown until artifacts were found by detectors and has now been declared to have been the place where the legions of the Roman emperor Maximinus Thrax fought against Germanic warriors in AD 235.
Up till then, ancient Roman reports of a Roman campaign so far east of the river Rhine were not believed by sceptical historians, but now has been proven without doubt to have actually occured as told in Roman histories. The battle site is that of the Harzhorn mountain in the Harz mountains of middle Germany.

Being a military buff, I was so hoping that this find would be like the others I've seen on UA-cam. You know, the videos showing the finding and removal of a large metal object. An object that had, long ago, been forgotten. Some were just fragments of their previous and action-filled life. Others were so well preserved that, after days of labor, they were completely removed from their silent grave. Some, were of such importance to historians, that they were fully restored and brought back to life for all to see and to be respected. I wanted this to be a vehicle from WW2 that had been captured and sent to Wales for testing and investigation. After which, it was used for weapons testing and then forgotten. I was hoping this object was going to be a Mark VI German King Tiger tank!

However given how many there were when they burst on the seen in th early 5 century AD. ( invading Holland and Britain)they had to have been in existence for hundreds of years in the area of Denmark and extreme N Germany . The archaeological evidence of them being there goes back beyond the republican era of Rome. Sorry I was speculating some what to say they had mercenaries with the Goths when they assaulted Rome . But I do believe they had some mixed in as there were many Germanic freebooters that were hired on for wealth and plunder. Even the Huns had many Germans in their employ when they savaged Central Europe . When the history books tell of the Huns or Goths conquering a nation they rarely break down the other peoples among them.
