Something extra to comment is that SJ is the one who started the trend within kpop of having sub-units within the group, the first of all kpop is Super KRY (SJ's vocal sub-unit), then SJ M (sub-unit that I promote in China, is currently inactive since 2015), SJ T (with the genre Trot that is originally from Korea), SJ HAPPY (funny music whose meaning is the name of the sub unit was also created while the sub unit M was promoting in China) and for last we have the sub unit SJ D&E (DONGHAE AND EUNHYUK)
Of all of them, the ones that are inactive are SJ M, SJ T, SJ HAPPY
They have a huge repertoire and a lot of musical style in it, it would be nice if you could also react to these sub units

Most often you see suju as 8 because heechul was in a car accident and had his legs broken, he had to get metal rods in his legs, so hes not often able to join the group, especially with dancing but he has been promoting with the group on different variety shows.

@@LKTVLKTV yes Heechul has a car accident in 2006 one year after Suju debut he was coming back from Donghae father's funeral and in 2007 there was an other car incident who implies Shindong Eunhyuk Leeteuk and Kyuhyun who was the most severly injuried he stay in coma few days he could have die

It's never too late to learn about a group, even if they HAVE been in the industry for 15 years. Doesn't look like they intend to slow down, so DIVE IN!! I just started learning about them as a result of stanning EXO last year, and it didn't take long to learn them and get drawn in. They are THE most crackhead group in Kpop, it's pretty hard not to like them.

SuJu has 9 active members promoting too - HeeChul needs to sit out the dance because of an accident that shattered his left leg 11 years ago, which is why you don’t see him in the dance scenes anymore. But he is also an actively promoting member (appearing to wow us for 4/8/20 seconds he appears).
But yes. Burn the Floor is on a different level that what others are doing in kpop.

Some fun facts;
1) They are the first kpop group to have a sub-unit. They basically invented it in Kpop industry.
2) They are also the first ever Kpop group to have a non-korean/foreigner member.
3) They hold A LOT of records. I'm not gonna list them 'cause there are too many. I think you should take a look at the list on your own 😅
4) They are the first Kpop group to keep promoting and make several comebacks after all of their members finished their military service.
5) Last november, they celebrated their 15th anniversary and they're still going!!
6) Their members are really famous in different areas of entertainment. They are TV hosts, song writers, composers, TV actors, cinema actors, musical theatre actors, radio DJs, dancers, singers, rappers, concert directors, MV directors, variety show personalities etc. They actually are pioneers of the concept of idols branching out to different entertainment areas.
7) They have MANY firsts in Kpop industry. They, in a way, shaped the way kpop companies train and promote their groups and idols.

I'm here for a Suju journey. They were my first ever kpop run in back in '09 with Sorry Sorry so they kicked off the deep rabbit hole. for me. If you go back to the beginning or work your way back however, I'm here for it. Twins (Knock Out) is their debut and very... 2005. But for current times I'd also check out The Melody, it's on the same album as Burn the Floor and House Party but they released a video for it in November 2020 to celebrate their 15th anniversary. There is a guide from 2018 so it's just missing their newer music (A Long Ass guide to Super Junior).

Remember the guy you were asking about in House Play with the deeper voice? His name is Shindong and he was the one who directed this video with his team. He's a prodigy and we love him to death. Super Junior refused to do anything without him when antis were hating on him because of his weight. They have a motto/slogan in the group "WE HAVE SHINDONG." In recognition of his unbelievable talent in every aspect of entertainment. He also stands on the top of the pyramid in SM when it comes to dancing being their BEST. Rookies/trainees practice to his dance videos from his predebuted days. He is that great. All 15 members of Super Junior is that GREAT. SUPER JUNIOR IS THE LAST MAN STANDING. Moreover you should know Snsd was created to be the female version of Super Junior. And the two made legacy in the business. No one can compare to Super Junior accomplishments. SUPER JUNIOR literally created what we know as Kpop and the Hallyu Wave. And their Fandom ELF us that FANDOM. No one beats them in fan wars not even western fandoms. Both Super Junior and ELF won Billboard battle of Boy Band and Fandom last year beating people like One Direction, bts, Nsync, Backstreet Boys, EXO, etc.

Fun fact: The lights you see SuJu using in their "Burn the Floor" performance are the same type of lights Ten from NCT/WayV used in his "New Heroes" MV.
Super Junior currently has 10 members with 9 who are active (+2 Super Junior-M members). In some live performances you might only see 8 because Heechul has chosen to sit out of some of their live performances because he is no longer able to dance for extended periods of time. But the members have always come up with fun and clever ways to make sure he is always included in everything SuJu does. So, most of the time, even if he doesn't dance, you will see him as the featured rapper in the middle of the performance.
And, of course, the vocals are insane, Super Junior is an OG group from SM Entertainment, so you shouldn't expect any less. Plus, Super Junior has the 3 best vocalists -- Kyuhyun, Ryeowook and Yesung -- who make up the sub-unit Super Junior-K.R.Y. Super Junior-K.R.Y. is the industry's very first sub-unit and they are a ballad unit who have an unbelievable vocal range. Kyuhyun, Ryeowook and Yesung are the vocal standard in the industry, who set the bar that all other vocalists are measured against. But as an SM group, all the members of Super Junior are amazing singers -- even their rappers have been known to fill in as a main vocalist on occasion.
Super Junior knows exactly what they are doing. They haven't been in the industry for this long without being experts at reinventing themselves and coming up with something new and innovative with every comeback. Super Junior debuted Nov. 6, 2005 and this is their 10th full length album. This song is part of their 15th anniversary celebration. So what you will see at the beginning of all of the MVs from this album, is a teaser clip of the previous songs that were released from the album. "Raining Spell for Love" -- the remake of a b-side track from their Mamacita album in 2014 -- and "Melody" -- their fan tribute song --were the first songs released from the album.
After more than 15 years, Super Junior has done pretty much every genre of music. SuJu are never afraid to experiment with their sound or style and they are known for coming up with original concepts and setting trends. And because the group is so diverse with so many unique members (at their peak they had 15 members), this allows them to be able to do almost anything. They are the founders of the Hallyu Wave for a reason.
There is almost nothing in the Kpop industry that SuJu hasn't had a hand in creating.

Tbh there aren't many guides to Super Junior. I would say that the most complete (at least until 2018) is "A long ass guide to Super Junior" the only problem is that the text goes really fast in the video (because they didn't want to make it an hour long😂) so you have to pause a lot to read everything and not everybody likes that.
Don't know if someone has other suggestions but there's that.
I have been lurking on patreon hoping for the album listening so I'm really excited to know that it's coming!

Super Junior's This is Love and Evanesce mvs are a paired set (In that order) and absolutely required for someone getting into them! Their vocals are incredible. Their early stuff is VERY early-2000s but it is iconic. I'm really fond of Miracle, DonDon, and 너라고. SorrySorry is f course their most iconic, and not for no reason. (head's up, for several comebacks after Sorry2 SM kept trying to recreate it so the next 4 or so titles sound really same-y, so I'd recommend against marathoning them.) More recent stuff, Devil is underrated for how good it is and Mamacita is a lot of fun! And don't forget solos if you like ballads, KRY (vocal line) all have solos.
Beware a lil getting to them bc there's a lot of toxicity--not as much in the ifandom but the kfans are super entitled and controlling and it's hella depressing what's gone on over the years. (never gonna forgive them blacklisting my boy Sungmin for the crime of getting married, not to mention how cruel they were to Zhou Mi and Henry 😒) I say this not to put you off--suju are great and you'll have so much fun getting into their music and variety stuff!--but bc I wouldn't want you to be blindsided by the Drama(TM) unprepared 😉

SuJu are always pioneers in the kpop industry! Just so much music you need to listen, they have explored soooo many genres and they do them right without loosing their essence! There's absolutely nothing they haven't excelled yet!

For a guide, I highly recommend "a long ass guide to super junior" and "a 2020 guide to super junior." The first one is from 2018, and aside from a member change, the information is still pretty accurate. The other one is a bit more relevant, just shorter.

The lights were obviously inspired by Indian candle dances, but you can do more with LED than real candles, eg they use them almost like castagnettes. Brilliant. Dance is used as a metaphor for lovemaking, very sensuous. And the voice arrangements and solos are so nice. For example, the producer's direction for Leeteuk's singing part, in an unusually low register for him, was to sound like a person who is losing his mind. And Ryeowook does the operatic parts.

For guide i suggest you to watch the "a long ass guide to super junior" it was an half-hour video but it has (almost) complete information about them, and the newest one was "an (un)helpful guide of super junior 2020", but not as complete as the long one
The long one wasn't updated because it was made in 2018 or early 2019 and in late 2019 one member quit, so they didnt put that information on that and in the 2020 version they put that info but didn't put the complete history, so you can choose which one you want to watch/react

suju will always surprise you. just when you know you can predict them, they will come up with new concepts. that’s why there are legends - they are never afraid to experiment and start new trends.

Regarding Suju doing their own lighting on this vid, I have to add that Shindong, one of the members, has directed a lot of MVs, including this one. Another member, Eunhyuk, has been the stage director for their last world concerts. They like to work behind cameras as well as in front of them.
I'd recommend for you to react to Raining Spell for Love (remake) MV, it's from their new album and it showcases their fantastic vocals. After that one you could go back in time and check older stuff, they've played with a lot of genres over the years ;)

One thing that's constant fron Suju that I can say is they constantly challenge themselves in every comeback. You will get surprised in every song, litterally.
15, this year 16 years in the industry and the only 2nd gen actively promoting, they never ran Out of things to show that they outdid themselves every single time.
This come back they cameback with 9 active members, 1 member has been on hiatus since 4 years ago due to some conflict with K.ELF (ELF is the fandom's name of Super Junior. Stands for EverLasting Friends).
I'd like to reccomend the album/title track/b sidrtrack from the 8th album: black suit & one more chance. They released this album during 2 main vocals were still in the military (Suju has 3 main vocals,kyuhyun-ryeowook-yesung). You can really see their vocal strength even from the rappers.
