This is a genuine question asked without malice, why do you think she is one of the most important musicians in the world today, and who else would you put up there?
@@mrcmwuk This limited space does not allow me to fully answer your question. It would take a considerable amount of text just to describe the “excellence of the music,”. (and in order to fully appreciate her uniqueness, I think it necessary to have some knowledge of the characteristics of Japanese music culture) Therefore, I would like to limit myself to a few words here. I believe that the profundity of her music is comparable to that of some of the greatest musicians in the history of popular music, such as Miles Davis and Joni Mitchell. You asked who else is currently the best musicians in the world, but this would also make a long list, so I'll just say one person. "Meshell Ndegeocello"
@@someskybooks Thank you for your considered reply. It is much appreciated. Aoba San is an interesting musician, and one that I find to be quite poetic, both sonically and with the songwriting/performance. I first discovered her music through the Yamaha Ginza performance that a few people were discussing. I think her music has a lot of magic in it, it carries it above and beyond the bulk of what constitutes popular music. I'd not heard of Meshell Ndegeocello , so that was an interesting introduction.
I have the CG 80 A that my mom brought me for my 15th birthday. I think she got it for $100 back in the day. It sounds almost exactly like her guitar. Yamahas are underrated IMHO.

Ms Aoba and her music has touched me in a way I cannot even describe, I have been listening to her since 2013-14 and was lucky enough to see her live twice. She is such a treasure to our world
Woah woah that was an amazing Minashigo no Ame!!! So dreamy! Ah I love how she keep sorta re-inventing her songs while performing them live! Simply amazing.
What a wonderful and interesting start to the set. Honestly, I felt so happy that this artist that I love was willing to try something different and slightly risky.
Is this one of his greatest influences that yet somehow manages to be even more obscure than her? I'm afraid of looking for his stuff, my human brain might not be able to withstand the force that propelled Ichiko.
Has she played Asahi o Tsurete anywhere else before? I can't find any information on it anywhere but it's one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard.
does someone have a list of the songs (and albums they appear on) that Ichiko Aoba played in this video? :) she sounded wonderful and her guitar playing skills are out of this world!
I consider Ichiko Aoba one of the most important musicians in the world today
I don't consider her one of the most important, I KNOW she's one of the most important

Just curious though… why did she devil horn sign right at the beginning?
The guitar she has been using for many years is a Yamaha CS40J, which costs 16,500 yen (about $110).
interesting and amusing 😂, thanks for sharing!
i thought her guitar cracked recently

The most magical artist in the whole universe
Her melodies feel like the branches of a bonsai tree the way the hop around unexpectedly and yet feel so intentional and comforting
woah, hey, hey ... chill, bro
My god. Ecstatic. Feels like a home I have never been to.
Such poetical and relatable description
this is so special. no one in the universe like her
no one in the 機械仕掛乃宇宙 like her
clockwork universe literally never gets old
it is made by anmi yamada even tho her interpretation is beautiful
@@Nico-ub7yt not thats the 3rd song by anmi yamada, clockwork universe is a ichiko song :3
@@TeeFayeGaming clockwork universe is a cover from Anmi Yamada as well. she adapted the lyrics and some part though.
Clockwork Universe is fantastic and now I need to find out who came up with it first.
words cannot express how much I love her
Try reading good literature and get a dictionary and a thesaurus, u should b able to find the adequate words.
real

I started playing this and out of nowhere I went on crying. Wasn't expecting it.
her music and ethereal voice is the ultimate comfort. thank you for this upload.

nothing but love

Phenomenal medley. Hearing and seeing her performance is always such a delight, she’s truly a master of her craft like no other ❤

That's such cool use of the delay. I've had that keyboard for years and never used it like that... so yes, I'm totally stealing her idea.
what keyboard is it? and yes using delay with keys is soo fun!!

08:11 Asahi o Tsurete (Anmi Yamada cover)
Sensational
