Waveform is striving and more people are starting to use it. You should do some mixing tutorials for its. What plugins to have first and where to have them from left to right.
Thanks for the Tutorial! I think there is an important point, which should be added. For the sandboxed plugins (for example #TCompressor or some of the Waves plugins) you will need to use the Actions panel in order to select the sidechain track.

2:30 without any sidechain and 3:34 with sidechain. I couldn't recognize a major difference at first to be honest a few months back when I was still learning my way around the program. Fast forward to today and I noticed the sidechain compression button he shows in this tutorial, decided to give it a try, and the difference was night and day. Very cool technique but if you aren't too concerned with trying this now its OK just keep it in mind whenver you decide you are looking for more nuance in your tracks because this is a must in many situations.
When I place the compressor on the track, I cannot select the channel I have put the compression on. It dissapears from the list

For the last two years I have been using Waveform as my primary DAW and loving it! Yes I do make music. I have been so focused on this channel, I didn’t have too much time but this summer I made time to create music and I almost have my EP finished. It should be released in September. I have a rough demo single posted from the EP but it needs to be cleaned up quite a bit. @@AudioTechTV I use Waveform Pro and like better than others I have tried. It provides access to all kinds of detail and depth when you need it, but works fairly easily. Very cool to see others using it. I've never tried a side chain to control compression, but your explanation tells me both how and why I should use it. Thank you, this is now a new tool in my toolbox!

Sidechain is when you take the signal from another track and have it control the compression or whatever effect on another track.

Is it possible to side chain multiple tracks using just one compressor instead of adding identical compressors to all tracks that need side chaining?
You could create a bus and put your side chain compressor on the bus. Then send all the tracks to that bus.

Yes. You can use any compressor that supports side chaining.

The only thing that's really killing me right now about Waveform is the METERING. OMG. It's just not detailed enough. They're, like, these little abstract moving bars without much detail/ number lines, and the numbers that are on the meter are kind of arbitrary (relevant to most would be -3, -6, -18). All they had to do was include some more lines and numbers and it would be great. Furthermore, if you make all the tracks small enough to fit on the screen, the numbers disappear altogether. This is unacceptable if you're sitting at a drum kit with 14 microphones on it and you need to be able to see where you're levels are at in detail -Doesn't make a difference if you're tracking other people because you can just tell them to keep playing until you check everything with the volume meter plugin, but if you're doing it all by yourself? Yeah -The metering is definitely lacking, in my opinion. There are other things that piss me off a little bit (such as no phase invert button per track, no engage disengage fx button per track, no mono/ stereo toggle on master) and are holding this DAW back from being my full-time home, but those are all secondary to the weak metering (well, not the mono stereo toggle on the master. That is somewhat infuriating...) I just can't get comfortable with it... With a few tweaks to the U.I., Waveform would be God-like... Although, I cannot STAND Reaper, Waveform would do well to take some cues from it's U.I.. I would be willing to invest some time in making the U.I. more user friendly if anyone out there from Traction is listening...
