- This video is all about a Neofetch alternative called Fastfetch. Neofetch is now archived and I wanted to showcase a great alternative to the package for in case something happens to it.

good comment after all that hard work.
Thank you so much for this video, I was looking everywhere for that config file! haha. But I dont seem to be able to make fastfetch run on startup. I went into my bash.bashrc file and did wrote down fastfetch as you said, but it wouldnt show up. I hope you can give me some tips on how to fix this. Thanks again!!
Thank you so much for the logo config, i have had the problem for hours too and i couldn't figure out of the life of me how to put a logo there ! You helped me out a ton !
You're very welcome! I racked my brain for two days on how to get that thing to work lol. But at least kitty-direct worked out for us all.
Now with this and Do as I can save the extra KB of memory lol
I'm not really sure what you mean here. I hope you will clarify your sentence.
@@ImZipux doas is sudo replacement
Thank you for the clarification. It all makes sense to me now. I assumed this person had a typo or something in their comment and I didn't understand what they were talking about at the time. I am somewhat familiar with doas, though I've never had to use it for anything.
How do you permanently change the text colors? I used "fastfetch --color-title blue --color-keys yellow" and this changed but only for that session. How do I edit the jsonc file for perm color change please?
I will refer you to a UA-cam Short that I just uploaded about how to do this for your situation: ua-cam.com/users/shorts0d-q_rgKoGM
@@ImZipux Thank you very much, I was just coming back to report I got it, I found an example .jsonc online to use as a template. I also found that big pictures set to a fraction of their real dimensions in the jsonc file render beautifully on the terminal screen :)
No problem! I'm glad you got it figured out. I'm still leaving up the short because it might help out someone else who got stuck on it. You're always more than welcome to have a look at my dotfiles on Github. I have my config file for Fastfetch updated in there. And yeah, I had to scale my logo down quite a bit for mine to work properly.
Hey if i want to add this command ("pyfiglet -s -f slant --color=BLUE Fedora") for the logo what should i add to the config file ?
You could try doing something like "source": "$(pyfiglet -s -f slant --color=BLUE Fedora)" under logo. However, I haven't been able to make other commands work this way, despite the documentation saying that you can do command substitutions. So my suggestion is to copy and paste the text you get from the command into a .txt file and save it somewhere where you'll know where it's at (~/.config/fastfetch/logo.txt). Then, add in "source": "~/.config/fastfetch/logo.txt" and add in "type": "file" under logo. I will give you links to go to for all of this in this comment. It shows you two ways to go about adding in the source file, plus it tells you how to get the colors you want:

@@ImZipux Okay thx i did the second option thanks for helping
No problem! Glad I could help in some way.
