Very nice, Léa , VERY nice. I like how you put drama in your dance. How you struggle in the beginning, pushing the wheel with seemingly great effort. I also like how you put those slow motion twirls in at 2:40. And the resignation or defeat at 3:15, to rise again.
Really, really nice drama! You are seven years later as I post this comment. I'm sure you have much more skill and power by now. But please remember the drama, for it is what makes us cry the tears we need.
Thank you so much for this! I created this piece when I was still in school. Now that I am performing on stages around the world, it is often easiert to perform pieces that are "pubilc pleasers" instead of challenging the artistic eye of the audience (and I feel I am slipping more and more into that path). I will now rewatch this piece of mine, taking into consideration what you wrote. Maybe I will be learning something from myself. Thank you for challenging me
love this, love the change in tempo towards the end ! great work

she looks like a dude..... like a beautiful dude..... im having very conflicting emotions here.... send help
alvasalrey just embrace you possibly like good lookin dudes... :P
I see what a difference her partnership with Francis Perrault made in her performance. Here she is an athlete, angular and awkward, without identity as a woman, short hair, unattractive clothes, and her movements are - well, ugly. He took his own romanticism and taught her to adopt it as hers. Now she has long hair, a feminine swirling skirt costume, and she is a beautiful girl. And her performance is romantic and feminine. I suspect their pairing made the difference. At this early stage, she had the athleticism without the artistry.
I saw the artistry! I don't think this was a performance rather than a practice session; I don't know so maybe no costume? There were a few times I saw some moves that I hope she might re-do or add with her parring with Francis. But of course the moves get more graceful a smooth with practice over the years. Good job.
It must be hard coming up with new moves it just seem only so much you can do at least that is what my observation is after watching many of these acts. Very nice and well done.
Sorry to disagree. Even at this early stage (she writes something about the 2nd year at this schools) the movements are great and she shows her talent. 👍
Maybe the emphasis then was to master this new skills?
Your comment seems to be a bit harsh.
Wonderful!!!
