My favorite running gag in the show is when Mikey says “this looks like a job for doctor delicate touch.” And then he precedes to not be delicate whatsoever. The first time he said that it took me so off guard because in the 2012 version (the version I grew up with) Mikey is typically the turtle with the most heart and is really delicate. So seeing him like that was just so funny and unexpected which I think was the point.

Leo could've been done better. Donnie comes to terms with the fact that he can't have a relationship with April. Mikey discovers more of his savant side and becomes more responsible. Raph learns to control his emotions rather than letting them control him, the first time in season 1 with his rage and the second in 4 with his fear. But Leo doesn't feel different by the end of the show, other than the new voice actor. Plus, it feels like his "lessons" were his brothers' but in reverse. He learns to defy his responsibilities by heading out to help Karai and Shinigami. He lets his emotions take control of him by blindly trusting Karai and Shinigami. And he learns that he CAN and WILL get whatever he wants by continuing to pursue Karai, which is even worse and weirder since it coninues even after he learns that they're step-siblings. I prefer this Leo. He's basically just Sonic, but that's more than any other Leo.
