The study was conducted from October 2020 to June 2021 at Cavite State University to develop a design for a cultural complex which will serve as the municipality’s sole intervention responsible for addressing cultural mindfulness, thus promoting the institution-building for cultural development, competitive creative economy, and awareness campaigns for culture.
Traditional weaving and making crafts were among the oldest local industries in the Philippines but, unfortunately, a dying art. A cultural complex that will cater to a local artisan and weaving community's needs will benefit a particular community's cultural value and help them grow in socio-economic aspects. Many places in Cavite exhibits rich culture and heritage. One of these is the municipality of Maragondon. Maragondon having rich culture and being the bamboo capital of Cavite is a good location for a cultural complex that aims to provide cultural value by supporting local arts and crafts and promoting the dying art of weaving in the community.
