So... we just going to gloss over how she introduced the "I guess we're also getting closer as people" unprovoked, which tips her hand in a major way since Taako, Magnus, and Merle up to this point haven't really addressed her casually. The sole exceptions are things like Magnus slapping her in the first Lunar Interlude with her response, Taako's macaroons on this Candlenights, and Merle taking her with him to the spa after this meeting. And both of the previous incidents were during work events
After watching the entire series of Balance, this rips my heart out. It sets it on fire and send it to another dimension. I love Lucretia, but god she not one to talk about trust here. Absolutely love your animatic and art style 💚 💖💚💖💚
I love your designs for Magnus, Merle, and Taako! I love long hair Magnus with a ponytail! More please! I loved the sequence of the want and destruction of the Grand Relics! Taako twerking was adorable! I absolutely loved the little scene you added in of Lucretia looking at her IPRE badge and feeling so lonely and empty despite her friends and family being so close.
Beautiful animation!! But Waaaiitt!! Isn't this background music the IPRE theme? Also watching this back breaks my heart because she so desperately wants her family back (love the added scene with the badge) and how she was probably desperately trying not to smile like a parent whose kids did something dumb but hilarious (hence the high five with Magnus) and cry (she was so lonely without them) but she always remembers what she felt she had to do to give them a chance to experience "normal" life again, and all the heartbreak of them leaving that life(e.g. Raven's Roost, Sizzle It Up with Taako etc.) And the crazy roller coaster of emotions (as if Davenport wasn't enough guilt). Yiiiikes rehearing this honestly makes me less sympathetic to Lucretia. SPOILER WARNING How can she say she forced the memory loss so they could live happy lives and forget the pain of seeing the destruction wreaked by their misused creations, and then be showing them all these scenes of the destroyed cities the moment it serves her needs? And saying she has no reason to be lying to them when she has EVERY reason. She completely rewrote their memories of the relic wars (and their entire lives) so that she could turn them to her side rather than respecting that her friends had equally valuable input and might actually have good reason to have problems with the effects of her plan for combating the Hunger. THB openly come to her about their concerns that they are not being told the whole story, and she misdirects, guilt trips, and turns it around so that by the end THEY find themselves apologizing to HER rather than the other way around. And putting themselves down so that she will feel better comparatively!
SPOILERS BELOW Understandable, but keep in mind: seeing that the Relics were used for mass destruction is one thing, while knowing that they were made at your hands and that it was your fault is yet another. And as far as she is concerned, she'll have no reason to be lying to them once the Relics are reconstituted and her barrier is up either, so that's just a bit of a fudge, really. And yes, considering her friends' input to be less than hers is rather egregious -- but the only things she has of which she is proud are her cold intelligence and her ability to seize the moment and do what has to be done, as she did after the Trial for a full year. She simply saw the situation as a moment that needed her to do what only she was willing to do. And when the boys came to her, she played the cards she had to the best of her ability because as far as she was concerned, the solution was right around the corner and all she had to do was accomplish it -- and when it was over, they'd remember, and they'd UNDERSTAND, and it would be OKAY -- Lucretia is a flawed character, but she MEANT the best. The road to Hell is paved with good intentions, and hers were nothing but mortar to the bricks of the Hunger, falling into place -- albeit many years later than it expected.
@@stumble_arcana Villain is a bit harsh, she'd did a lot wrong for what she considered the right reasons. Her end goal was to cause less suffering but she's not the brightest bulb in terms of getting there.
