Yes I think we need to be realistic about how effective weapons will be, but at the end of the day we just need to keep our support up for ukraine, i think its easy to forget how well ukraine has done to date..... at the very start of this invasion everyone and i mean everyone thought Ukraine would fall withen days to the much larger and better equipped Russian forces, But yet here we are months later!! Ukraine will prevail. I think support to Ukraine needs to speed up where possible and increase untill they have removed the unwanted pests from there land. We can all suffer from support fatigue at times, we need to remember just how evil and disgusting russian behavior and actions have been and how they would continue this behaviour if they were succesfull, Its vital that Ukraine wins, Stay strong Ukrainian supporters!!
Well said. Totally agree with everything you say. I watched someone (won't mention the name) and they are a pro Ukrainian person. (Same as me). But this person bordered on manic, it sounded like a propaganda reel from a Goebbels video, it was cringe. I imagined the poor guys bleeding and dying on the zero line would have felt the same way. In contrast to that persons drivel, I believe we can support Ukraine 100% without dipping into the weirdo pool and keeping a touch of realism to our thought process while we do it. Make sense?
I think the most important issue is simply having a worthy aircraft to give them more numbers in the air and I think that the f-16 does that and is available in numbers
I think the A-10 Warthog could change the war in Ukraine if Ukraine received it. Before saying "wHaT aBOuT tAXpAYEr mONey" this war is important for future of Europe, not just Ukraine
I think the value of those planes at the beginning will lay in higher selection of air delivered weapons that can be used by them. But I wouldn't look at the limitations of the delivered generation as a permanent thing, if Ukrainian pilots and maintainers will prove to be capable of handling and using them. A newer versions with more capable radars will be delivered at some point, as well as air-to-air rockets going with them. The military help for Ukraine is a very progressive thing and jets quite likely will follow this trend.
@@darkhistories69 thank you. I've liked your points as well. Many have a tendency to undermining ruSSia's potential to paint a more positive picture. It not only can limit what we send Ukraine to face them, but also diminishes the heroism and ingenuity of Ukrainian forces.
Respectfully, Ukraine didn't have much choice in reverting to Soviet style tactics even with Western gear as the West didn't provide air power components that complement the ground components.
You are undoubtedly correct. The concern is that if you cannot fight like the west (for a multitude of reasons) then my concern is that western weapons whilst highly important won't be the game changers we are hoping for. @@darkhistories69 I must apologize. In my initial reply I was too focused on the small point I felt needed to be said. I agree completely with your insight as to the importance in tempering expectations around ANY piece of kit. F16s are phenomenal aircraft but if not properly updated to account for Russian updates (as you highlighted), or not in sufficient numbers, or if not flown in a manner that makes best use of them (not being a pilot, I hadn't even thought of needing to "train the Russian" out of the Ukrainian pilots), it will appear to have been an abysmal failure. How many times I have to mention this? Ukraine needs Electronic Warfare Systems(EWS), not F-16s because F-16 are something that you have to wait. Remember Ukrainian loses 10,000 drones every month, Russia's EWS are not something to be messed with. Russia is changing tactics by using guided artillery shell with the help of drones.
