We have been once, and would love to return. Your excellent videos remind us. Glad to see you got to Cordoba. I suggest you make a trip to Grenada for the Alhambra.
@@nabilel-ghoroury It's a tough choice as they're both so amazing. But if I had to choose, I would say Seville...mostly for the Alameda neighbourhood that we stayed in
I went to Sevilla with my family in 2018 and I wholeheartedly agree, it's a beautiful, charming city. So much to see and do. Our favorites were the unforgettable Alcázar palace and Plaza de España where we went on a boat ride in the canal and rode bicycles in the park 😊Another highlight was the Palacio de las Dueñas. Would love to see more of Southern Spain one day.
Your videos are the best. We want to travel exactly like you both do, when we retire. Your information is great and live the idea of traveling and enjoying the sites with a budget in mind.
It sounded totally worthwhile in Seville. And I'm sure it was fun showing your Dad. I bet he had a great time. Those churros and chocolate look SO good.
I think you ladies did great for a whole month in Sevilla and all the stuff you were able to experience and hosting your Dad was a plus. So cool watching both videos of Sevilla. We stayed close to the Alameda area as well, at a beautiful Airbnb Plus in Calle Parras. Like you mentioned very centric and walking distance to everything.Take care and have fun in Turkey??
Last time we were in Sevilla we stayed on the Alameda de Jesus, it was fun to recognize a few spots from your videos. I've travelled to many cities in Spain and there is just so much more to see that my husband and I have already decided that Spain is our first stop once we both retire, and we will use all of our 90 Schengen days there. We especially love the small city of Ronda, check it out next time you are in Andalucia.
Such a wonderful neighbourhood! If we came back to Seville, we'd want to stay by the Alameda again. We actually thought that there's enough to see in Spain, it would be easy to spend a whole year there!
Great review, it was not that expensive considering your your Dad was with you and you had lots of great experiences and memories. We really enjoyed this episode, thank you.
Hi, I just subscribed to your channel! Those larger churros are called porras, and they are made with yeast to make them puff up more. I love all of them!
beautiful, I love Sevilla and Andalusia in general, it's been 10 years since I was there however... that AirBnB is pretty pricey but looked very comfy!
We went to Seville as part of a Spanish tour years ago. What a beautiful city in a beautiful country. Because of that, however, we are focusing more on other parts of Europe for our upcoming adventures (ones we haven’t fallen in love with yet). I was curious about one thing though. In several of you videos, you have commented on the low price of car rentals. Are you using a specific app to find these. I have looked around using different websites and apps (like Skyscanner) but have had mixed rates. Some decent, a lot not so. Would appreciate it if you could pass on your experience in this regard. Keep those videos coming, they are packed full of good info.
Gillian does a very extensive search to find the best rates for car rentals. She usually starts by using a site called Qeeq, which aggregates lots of rental companies. We've also found that manual cars are significantly cheaper to rent than automatic. Hope that helps!
Thanks, I’ll look into it. I noticed that in France, there seem to be a lot of low priced electric cars. Apparently their electric infrastructure is one of the best in Europe. Have you had any experience using electric vehicles?
Nor have I, but it sounds interesting. One other thing. We have really been enjoying all of your videos, but what really impresses me is that fact that you seem to take the time to read and respond to everyone. Thanks. Really makes us feel connected. Like we’re somehow a part of your journey. Keep up the great work.
@@gottab.somewhere5971 Thanks so much for noticing! One of the main reasons for our channel is to feel connected with fellow travellers. So it's a pleasure to answer everyone's comments! 😊
I was actually shocked by how low the total cost was, given how much you got out of it! I was honestly expecting 4k+. You even got to have your father there for a couple of weeks--that's amazing. What was his favorite part of the trip?
I think he liked the road trip to Cordoba best of all. We couldn't believe the size of the historic part of town...even bigger than Seville's old town. And of course going out for tapas every afternoon 😂
Hi ! Thanks for the video. We are in Fethiye right now, watched your video about the town. Have a question , was it easy to travel from. Turkey with dogs ? We are traveling with our cat, it was pretty easy to bring it to Turkey, do you know what rules are to take it from Turkey to somewhere else ? (I know cats and dogs rules vary, just wanna understand how bureaucracy is in Turkey )
We've had no difficulty travelling in and out of Turkey with our dogs the last few times. However we have EU Pet Passports so that helps make it easy, especially for going into EU countries from Turkey. We always take a close look at the latest rules for every place we go, just to be on the safe side. Good luck with your planning!
First let me start by saying I love your content and find it relatable and informative so Thank You both...but one thing I have noticed with multiple people whose journey I am following is that no one is including the cost of transportation to your destination, such as your flight from Canada and additional transportation between destinations...even if it was done on a prorated basis ,we know that would increase your monthly cost and truly be more reflective...just also curious as to why you have stopped adding the cost of your storage back home and healthcare expenses...Thanks Again for the truly wonderful content
Thank you - great questions! We're planning a video soon that will cover all those other costs of travel beyond just having fun in a destination. Regarding the storage locker, we're happy to report that we got rid of it a year ago. It's great to not have that monthly expense anymore!
@@OurFreedomYears love you content. I have exactly the same question about health care cost, which could be a wild card. Look forward to information from your upcoming video. Thank you.
@@yiminzhang8163 We did a video about our healthcare plan that might be helpful bit.ly/3hWbnFL It's an older video but we're actually still on the same plan.
We thought it was a fairly decent price for a nice Airbnb in a really great location. The main sights were just a 20-minute walk away and we felt like we were getting a really local vibe in our neighbourhood.
I mean, taking into consideration that you eat and stay at one of the most touristic areas of the city, I don’t consider it expensive at all, especially compared to other cities. If you wanna sleep and eat only downtown it is what you get anyway.
What an incredible way to end our time in Spain! Have we put Seville on your bucket list?
Sevilla has always been on my bucket list! So which did you prefer more, Sevilla or Valencia?
We have been once, and would love to return. Your excellent videos remind us. Glad to see you got to Cordoba. I suggest you make a trip to Grenada for the Alhambra.

So many great places in Spain to discover...we talked about spending a whole year in Spain to properly explore the country from north to south!
Loved it...have been to Seville twice but for a very short time. Looking forward to going there during a Flamenco festival...touche

As Canadian, do we need an international driver’s license?
Yes, an international driver's license is needed and it's valid for a year.

I live in Sevilla full time, one of the reasons is the low cost
We came to Spain expecting everything to be really expensive...we've been surprised by how affordable it can be.
Transportation costs were shockingly low. And I think groceries are rather cheap there, but for 3 persons cost was ok.
The cost to rent a car was quite decent - we were surprised too!
Hi girls , if you can try to visit the rest of Andalucia, you will fall in love with Granada, Cordoba or Malaga. Hope you enjoy!
All good reasons to come back to Spain! There are too many beautiful cities for just one visit. 😊
Excellent 👏 👏
Thank you! 😃
$1600 per person sounds reasonable. As you said, a 1BR might have trimmed that to $1300 or less, but maybe worth a splurge once in a while.

That's right! We found that the cost was pretty reasonable, given all our tourist activities. 😊
That's a lot of money for your groceries. I've never spent more than $60 a week in Seville, where I come from.
You must find some great deals as a local! 😊
