Why are we not seeing Palestinian protesters in Arab countries like Jordan, Lebanon, Saudi, Yemen, and other Muslim countries 🤔

If you listen you can tell that the reporter is there saying everything has been peaceful and quiet. He wasn't able to go inside the campus, but it was also a peaceful demonstration in there as well... You kind of hear that there is just no example of students doing anything that really should warrant _buses to mass arrest peaceful demonstrations_ and _armed to the teeth police_

The encampment is blocking the student library stopping the studies of students. Students that are suspended have been returning belligerent ly without arrest . Lots of resistance. Chanting is making it hard to study.

What a disruption to education. Students have become so entitled that they are allowed to intimidate and threaten other students because they disagree with how the outside world is handling a situation.

This is not what happened! I couldn’t get to class because the school closed all the gates and had police crawling everywhere, not because the protestors were blocking anything. I was on campus all day yesterday and just left a few hours ago. Everything was peaceful. The pro-Israeli side was absolutely out there protesting with their flags and so was the pro-Palestinian side. It was chanting, clapping, and walking in circles. The police overreacted at usual and started arresting people that weren’t in the tents! They also had 4 drones flying around campus when I walked out of class and one of them crashed on the lawn. This was an unnecessarily heavy handed approach to an otherwise peaceful demonstration.
The problem is that they are illegally occupying private property and they did not get permission to protest on University grounds. All over the country they have been disrespectful and have incited hate against America, blocked roads, held people illegally in their cars, etc. Would you want them on your property?
This was not heavy-handed! They were asked to move several times by they university! THEY DIDN'T MOVE! The police ask them to move. At that point, they are breaking the law. THEY WERE TRESPASSING that is not peaceful. They thought they were going to live in tents on the property of the school to FORCE the school to meet their demands. THAT IS NOT PEACEFUL! They were using HATE speech against part of the student body. THAT IS INTIMIDATION!! This was not a peaceful protest!

Free speech can only be allowed when the act of free speech doesn't infringe on other people's rights. Libel, for example, is not acceptable even if one thinks they are exerting their free speech right. These students think they have the right to protest but they don't because while doing so, they are violating others' rights (to be free from the chaos, to go to class, to walk about safely, etc.) at the same time. Columbia should have extended a stronger and tougher stand in the very beginning. I deplore the state of the current education! That is democracy 101. How come these students didn't learn it or understand it?

These protesting is not a guaranteed rights when accepted to Columbia University. The college has allowed protests, but it is not required to allow protests. All of these politically motivated disruptions have nothing to do with earning a degree at Columbia. The president does not have to allow it. I didn't go to college to learn how to defend myself against political activists. They have the freedom (within the limits of the law) to protest off-campus.

Isn't there designated or allowed places to protest? Those arrested I would guess are protesting in the wrong places where foot traffic/classes are going on and must be allowed to continue for the school to run normally.? We just watched American citizens being arrested for protesting a foreign government. You can criticize or protest Iran, China, Russia, any country in the world but if you criticize or protest Israel you will be arrested.
