Little did Marie N and Ira Losco know that they'd end up being the top 2 at the actual Eurovision just a year later... The Spanish song is such a hit despite not even ending in the top 5 of that infamous National Final. It's still one of the most popular 'summer songs' of the 2000s in Spain.
I thought she looked familiar! Latvia's Marija Naumova is actually Marie N, 2002 Eurovision winner! Also, I love how we got 7th place in ESC and on OGAE Second Chance.
Yes, but they unlisted the video later because there was an error with the Swedish entry, the audio playing "Allt som jag ser" (OGAC SC 2001) instead of "Världen utanför" (OGAE SC 2002). You can still watch the video in the playlist "#EurovisionThrowback00': Eurovision 2002", although they'll probably upload a fixed version anyway.
Norway had the best song. I personally think that would have gone Top 5 in that poor edition. Very Moloko-esque. I'm not that struck in the winner from Sweden. Spain was a fun party song, UK was also great. Croatia had a fantastic song - I believe Emilija would have got Croatia best result that year. Israel underrated - they may have had a shot of a Top 10 that year. The Netherlands also missed a chance to score big too - great song. Bosnia very random choice - Amilia from 1996 or Deen would have been better choices here. Ireland sent a Westlife type boyband entry better than their ESC entry.

"Yo quiero bailar" and "Dile que la quiero" was very popular here in Uruguay 😊
The stage of Dutch National Selection looks like ESC 2011 stage
Omg u are right
Didn’t know Ira Losco and Marie N had participated the previous year to attempt placing Top 2
Kaderīmsīn by Icin Karaça
Nanne for the UK? Wow
The spanish song became really popular
Yes, Yo quiero bailar, Dile que la quiero and No me pidas más amor (also from the preselection) were very popular in the summer 🌞🏖️

There was another Eurovision participant in OGAE SCC 2001, Joy Fleming who represented Germany in 1975
UKs entrant (Nanne grönvall) is from Sweden 🇸🇪
