I was my college campus's DJ back in the day and I forced this song into the playlist rotation until people started calling it in to request it. It became the #1 requested song for 13 weeks and got mad play at all the fraternity parties after that. I was pretty proud of myself for it 😎
Oh, so you’re saying you actually know what good music sounds like? Ha… good job! Wonder what would’ve happened if you tried to play Billy’s Eyelash?😩🤪😫👍🏼
It really pisses me off that these guys aren't huge. Great songwriting, great musicianship, great vocalist. They never should've broken up, and we should have about 15 years of Big Wreck material. Most underrated band of all time.
Anyone else out there get the feeling these guys didn't get the 'break' many other bands with much less talent were MORE than fortunate to have gotten? ... I'm just sayin' is all guys and gals! 😤
i saw them in a little club in Jersey called the Birch Hlll. they opened up for Dream Theater on their Awake tour. These guys ripped it, what a show. no idea why they never went bigger either. i still have this CD. more talented than a lot of the crap out of there today.
I saw them at the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto about 24yrs ago. Utterly brilliant. Was working and heard they were playing so legged it downtown to see them. I will never understand how these guys didn't become huge. Them and Mathew Good Band. Neither really broke into the US.
First concert I ever went to in highschool was big wreck and the Mayfield four just over the border from my hometown of Bellingham Washington in a little venue in BC. 🤘 Just about 25-26 years ago.
Why am I only hearing about this song now. Heard it on the radio and I refuse to leave my car till the song finished, was just sitting in the parking lot smiling and shaking my head in enjoyment to this one. God please let this style of music become popular again.
DarkFeatherz I heard this song 20 years ago on the radio and had to go buy the CD that same day. Been hooked ever sense then. Surprised they do not get more airplay and are not a staple in the US music sceene.
Ian Thornley is such an underrated singer/songwriter/guitarist, the guy just oozes talent, this song put them on the map and it's such a great track just brings nostalgia, RIP Brian Doherty
I'm watching a Canadian Football League game tonight and this band was playing the halftime show in Ottawa! Wow! What great memories of Much Music and all of the great Canadian bands in the 1990s and early 2000s!
Most underrated Rock band of all time. Even to this day these guys are putting out fantastic music and don't get the credit they deserve. Ian Thornley is a living Guitar God.

I had the biggest crush on Ian Thornley after I discovered this band when I was about 13. I was visiting my family in Canada and randomly I found their CD at a music store in Kelowna and fell in love with this song. Also an amazing memory I have of my beloved uncle who passed in 2012 as we went there together after a big snow storm. Edit: Who am I kidding? I turned 40 recently, and I've still got a crush on him!
Discovered this band when I was in college. It was just one of those "spotify recommends". I was wondering how I had not heard of this group, they had so much that legitimately should have been a hit in America. I always think of this band when I remember my college years.
It took me forever to find this song! It was on MTV in my impressionable years and all I could remember was the guitar solo and "My luck is wasted!" Finally got it, and I am not disappointed.
Love how they snuck in a measure of 5 staring at 00:51. Really throws the groove off for a split second - then right back into it. Brilliant! Love this song.
Amen. This song is the only time in my life that I HAD to know the name of this band, like, NOW. I turned the car around called the radio station and thus it began...
Saw them live when they first released this song. Only a couple of hundred people there in a converted gym to music venue with incredible acoustics. One of the best live concerts I have ever attended.
uannoyme74 Yeah right, thats why when I saw them in Toronto last fall they sold out two nights at the Danforth... that's like 2400 people right there. Pretty sure the rest of their tour was about the same.
Shane Belland thank you for MAKING MY POINT. they cant get out of canada. maybe 3 shows a year are outside of canada. why? because nobody cares, thats why.

Alt-Rock with heavy metal and country influences and slight indie sensibilities. Heard it on The Current radio in Minnesota so long ago. Still love it.
"The Oaf" and "Inhale" were the first two Big Wreck songs I ever heard, way back when.. 2001? That was it, and only recently did I discover they were more than that (sheesh). Now jumped to one of m all-time favorite groups... right at the top at the moment. Can't stop listening. @IanT, please take good care of yourself... we need you around for a long time.

Mr. Ian Thornley, you sir are not underrated or under appreciated. You have a true following of real fans, who enjoy real music played by a real band. I am not sure why, but this is a very underrated and unknown/unnoticed song. Try falling in love with someone that doesn't reciprocate and you'll know what I mean.
Lyrics: Who'd you drag around my door if I Keep it cracked they won't be here no more Who'd you leave along the way Leave 'em there don't come back today Now who's the one who treats you right Yeah leave him there don't come back to fight Now who's the lad who wants to be It never was and it just can't be me My luck is wasted I'm on the run somewhere My luck is wasted I'm on the run somewhere Throw the rocks and break the glass I'll get down on my knees and kiss your ass 'Cause you're the one to be in my dreams It never was It isn't what it seems My luck is wasted I'm on the run somewhere My luck is wasted I'm on the run somewhere Now who's the dragon at my door Well I shot it now, it don't come back no more Gonna fire up someday My luck is wasted I'm on the run somewhere Feel my hand wrapped around My luck is wasted I'm on the run somewhere
they killed it in Hamilton last night, that cover to shout in their encore was simply amazing. Ian Thornley needs to be given more respect when it comes to his guitar riffs and solos he was spot on last night
Man this brings back memories from last fall when they came to my town and did a concert They played this song last and they extended the intro part and when those guitars came in they hit hard man.
being from usa, i had this album but never saw any of their music videos until now. what a great album! something made me think about this band, its been a while.
23 years later, this song still sounds amazing!
Hell yeah 🤟
Holy hell, your comment made me take a knee. Twenty three years.
I saw them open for Creed. I can't believe they weren't bigger, a real shame. They killed it.

This song is awesome. Big Wreck is awesome, I never miss an opportunity to see them.
This song has been playing recently on the radio. 89x radio to be exact. I can't get enough of this song.
This is, for sure, the best band for nearly 20 years! imho.

I am not sure why, but this is a very underrated and unknown/unnoticed song. Try falling in love with someone that doesn't reciprocate and you'll know what I mean.
Lyrics:
Who'd you drag around my door if I
Keep it cracked they won't be here no more
Who'd you leave along the way
Leave 'em there don't come back today
Now who's the one who treats you right
Yeah leave him there don't come back to fight
Now who's the lad who wants to be
It never was and it just can't be me
My luck is wasted
I'm on the run somewhere
My luck is wasted
I'm on the run somewhere
Throw the rocks and break the glass
I'll get down on my knees and kiss your ass
'Cause you're the one to be in my dreams
It never was It isn't what it seems
My luck is wasted
I'm on the run somewhere
My luck is wasted
I'm on the run somewhere
Now who's the dragon at my door
Well I shot it now, it don't come back no more
Gonna fire up someday
My luck is wasted
I'm on the run somewhere
Feel my hand wrapped around
My luck is wasted
I'm on the run somewhere
they killed it in Hamilton last night, that cover to shout in their encore was simply amazing. Ian Thornley needs to be given more respect when it comes to his guitar riffs and solos he was spot on last night
Canada pride ❤
I once got to meet Ian at the Rehearsal Factory when I was in a band. Such great times!
This songs the sound of my childhood. Never knew there was a video, thanks.
Banger of a show lastnight
Excellent guitar work I wasn't a big wreak fan but I have respect for this very talented Canadian. Love this tune! Peace 🤟

Man this brings back memories from last fall when they came to my town and did a concert They played this song last and they extended the intro part and when those guitars came in they hit hard man.
