This is phenomenal. I'm beginning to understand how I've 'engineered' no-entry gates across various areas/desires that would distract me from the true source of happiness. Amazing to consider the effort that goes into architecting an incarnation! The insights on animal soul evolution are extremely helpful. Recently, our dog - whom I believe was inhabited by an advanced soul relative to the animal kingdom - passed away oddly at a young age. These teaching line up directly with my intuitive take on the situation. I appreciate your philosophical depth. I too want to know what's REALLY going on :-) Thank you!

Sounds interesting. Swamiji toward the end of his life said that he saw all sentient creatures starting with the lowest form of animal life as simply "egos on a spectrum" from delusion to God-realization. We do change at some point from animal to human bodies, and the advent of free will changes the dynamic, but still, we are all moving toward God, each in our own way.
@@ashanayaswami Thank you, Nayaswami Asha for answering -- this once again answers a question I have been struggling with -- why we should consider ourselves further along the spiritual path than other sentient beings (and science is discovering so many - fungi, trees ...), so I guess it is our free will that requires us to make choices consciously (which doesn't necessarily make us better beings !)
As humans we have a great responsibility towards the animals in our lives and towards all animals. I had 2 dogs and I feel I have not treated them with all the love and care they would have deserved . I deeply regret this . Is there a way to heal this situation?
