    There are many figure skating jump tutorials in UA-cam, but this is the only tutorial explains what exercises need to improve jumps. These exercises really help me to build the consistent jump entry. Thank you so much!👍

    Okay I never got any of these tips from coaches. All that I’ve been told was what I was doing wrong in the air, not what was wrong with my take off

    Love this! But pls can you not do the text reminders while you're talking? It's hard to focus on both sides at the same time❤

      Jelena Majić thanks! No problem! I will try and do a better job to add it into the parts where I don’t talk next time :)

    how hard to you need to pick for the toe loop? I can't seem to get any momentum or height from the right leg so I think I'm overcompensating by picking too hard into the ice

    Are crossovers are the way to actaully figure skate

    • @Natalie37854
      @Natalie37854 5 років тому +1

      Your question doesn't make much sense lol. Crossovers are a fundamental skill in figure skating. You can't really do anything without knowing forwards and backwards crossovers.

    Right before you jump your Lutz I noticed that your skate curves to the right but remains on an outside edge. Do you push your skate down to keep it outside? Or is it better to jump from a left facing LO edge?

    • @drsalka
      @drsalka 5 років тому +1

      Sik Vik i think it really doesnt matter as long as it stays on the outside edge clearly.

    • @CoachMarySkating
      @CoachMarySkating 5 років тому

      as you reach back your skate will naturally curve to the right to stay on the correct edge! many times people flip to the inside edge known as a flutz

    I LOVE your Videos but I have a question. When you do the salchow, toe loop and loop you do half rotation on the ice and then you jump only half jump. That needs to be done also in the flip jump? Or In the flip jump you need actually to rotate 360° on the air? I hope you understand me! Thanks so much for your videos, they are so helpful.

    • @irenali8809
      @irenali8809 5 років тому

      Jessica Josche the flip, lutz, and axel should all have about 1/4 prerotation which means 270 degrees for flip & lutz, 450 for a single axel

    • @Julia-ct2lp
      @Julia-ct2lp 4 роки тому

      Ioseb Dzamukashvili If you slow down the video you can see that her legs leave the ice at around 1/4 prerotation (at least on her flip jump). It’s the right technique and makes jumping doubles and triples easier on the long run. But yeah it’s still possible to jump with 1/2 prerotations but for my jumps i have noticed that it will halt my jump and speed and thus make the jump lower.

    Can anyone explain the difference between a lutz and a flip?

    • @Sofabar
      @Sofabar  2 роки тому +1

      Flip is on an inside edge and is done generally from a 3-turn, Mohawk, or back outside 3-turn.
      Lutz is done on an outside edge and can also be done from a mohawk or for example just gliding backwards.
      Very similar jumps, but different edges.

    I still can’t differentiate between the toe loop and the toe axel mistake.. what’s the difference exactly? Thank you :(

    • @Julia-ct2lp
      @Julia-ct2lp 4 роки тому

      Fatema Kazem With toe loop your toe pick should touch the ice only for a quick moment. Your weight should never be entirely on the foot which you use for the toe pick and you shouldnt stay on that foot for long. If you shift your weight so that theres no weight on your other foot (not the toe pick) then it becomes a toe axel.
