Stainless Machine Screw with strong threadlock

  • Just one of those things that add delays. Stainless screws and no corrosion involved, just high strength threadlock. Really felt as if the screw would shear off, most likely at the point it goes into the hardened steel. If that happens it is a matter of trying to drill away the stainless without damaging the internal thread, not a fun game.
    Cap head drilled off so components could be removed. Then a small butane torch to heat the remaining M5 until the threadlock softened. New bolts make this a simple rebuild.
    New relock cable threaded in and lock upgrade completed.
