Jay Z does this where the essence of the verse we hear is freestyled/improvised but then improved upon afterward. What we hear is not a freestyle but it is derived from one. Some of these bars could have been word for word, flow for flow how Lu freestyled them. Based on the bars of this track it's likely that most of them were improved upon with slight touches and additions after the original freestyle which definitely consisted of more ideas, some of which are left out of the final product. This technique always produces a beautiful paradox; a polished yet rough around the edges composition that is always original and unique.

As a Royce stan since Slaughterhouse. (being honest, I was a kid when he first came out.) LUPE absolutely DESTROYED Royce. I'm happy too because as much as i love Royce, He deserved all the credit he got with Prhyme, Slaughterhouse and his last 3 or 4 albums and Bar Exams, He was getting really cocky and him walking around his house all 2020 because of the Rona, he felt himself too much and he got too political and caught up on what's happening on TV. too opinionated. Well, Mickey was lyrical Miracle while slapping Royce at the same time. Lupe was chill and just pointed out the facts. Mickey did both. Royce raped well but he wasn't really on Lupe's neck like they were on his. @drjonesey5 Mickey Factz was less lyrical than people give him credit for on that track. The issue with several of his triple entendre with word play is that it sometimes distracts from the message. My homie REFUSES to believe Lu did this off the top of his head, but I've been trying to tell him Lu is an alien amongst aliens. Easily one of the best writers ever period and I'm not restricting this to rap. Dude is a legend 12 times over.

The most annoying thing ever is when you mention Lupe to someone and they call him "the 'Kick, Push' dude". Y'all better respect this man pen. There are very, very few even in close proximity of his caliber.

We talk about Michelangelo, Sun Tzu, etc....Lupe will be in that regard in a thousand years, the man has cemented himself in human history.
"Whats siri to Steve jobs? A budden to Tahiri"
Nah its done

This line is overkill
Thought he was cool with Joe lol?
Yow !!! Joe be catching stray bullets all year! If this was even a subliminal. The way I see it, Lupe is slaughtering the house and anybody can get it.
This just proves you don't HAVE to be lyrical miracle to win a battle
That exactly Lupe's point. If you want to prove whose a better rapper, a battle ain't the way to do it. First problem is that it's not objective because of the audience and their biases and second, you can diss and how deep you cut matters more than how well structured your lyrics are.
facts
Well, Mickey was lyrical Miracle while slapping Royce at the same time. Lupe was chill and just pointed out the facts. Mickey did both. Royce raped well but he wasn't really on Lupe's neck like they were on his. The entire rap was a Royce slap with personals and disarming from both Lupe and Mickey. meanwhile Royce was 90% lyrical General and 10% talking about Lupe.
@drjonesey5 Mickey Factz was less lyrical than people give him credit for on that track. The issue with several of his triple entendre with word play is that it sometimes distracts from the message. What does a man cave have to do with the beef? What does Deadpool have to do with the beef. That and other reason made it hard for me to take it too seriously because he was playin. Lupes shit was scathing - going at the core of Royce. Describing and putting a spotlight on Royce's two faces - his hypocritical behavior etc. Lupe was talking to him and us. That's why it had impact! Everyone felt it. Lupe was really going at Royce and cutting deep. Mickey had some fun jabs but I don't remember a single thing that he went after royce as a person about except checking boxes.
@ImInYourBrains gave the bitch room and then the man caved. They gave royce the room to hang himself or cave. He talked too much did his track and put his neck out to be chopped.
Lupe is always in a different zone
Lupe showing everybody he never lost his touch
“He never leave heaven cause he already dead”
Where is spent most of his time in the past year building up his studio/stage, called heaven studios. What a bar
BARS
also can be heaven as in fame or spotlight cause he already dead as in has no candle to mine (lupe's fame)
@@markBalentine123567 Nah...You super reaching on that. He def talking about the studio bro. And the actual place.
"I spit your verse to get immeresed inside my enemy, and to remind you they gotta go through you just to get to me"🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯
Lupe to Royce:
You overestimate your own abilities with no idea of the depth of my own and look at you now, grovelling in the dirt...
*Itachi's voice
groveling in the dirt thinking... what... that you would escape the coming fire? Your world will burn until it's surface is but Glass!
*Prophet of Truth voice
Shout out to Itachi! RIP to the realest!
Lupe just hit super saiyin God level 🙌👏👏🥶

"...had to get my talk to properly explain my walk cause this lack in talk had my walk looking off..."
-- Lupe // Failure
Yo Thanks Lupe for dropping that "witch" "'salem" bar .. just did some research and learned something new.
Perpetual sidekick
"I'm excessively cheery" in other words I'm playing, just warming up, feeling generous and in a good mood, you don't wanna see me angry I'll destroy you.
legend has it he did this in silk pjs and fluffy slippers in the middle of the night after lambda was released

“Talk Spicy Like the House of Atreides!”
Not just bars, GOLD BARS🔥🔥🔥
This line points back to the 1984 Cult Classic, DUNE...N@@ga I’m done🔥🔥
Right??? Best yet the house of atriedes is destined, like his imagery is 🔥
Like the House of Atreides, talk money, politics and power (spices)
Yupp you gotta be a nerd to get it frfr everybody skips this bar
Went over bare manz head
Its also the same house for the illiad and odyssey, its where Agamemnon was head of. The whole reason for the Trojan war is the brother's wife was stolen.
A top 10 greatest diss record all time.
This is the best diss track ever
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
R.I.P. "Royce Da IG"
Lupe scorched the earth by simply exhaling on the mic...the game needs this.
Damn I avoided this battle but seeing Royce on breakfast club made me go listen to these songs, this song hits hard
get some friends from Harvard and 4 dicationairies and listen to the other response Royce got, from Mickey Factz. Lowkey the sickest disstrack of all time, if you go purely bar for bar and lyricism... Not the impact it deserves sadly..
@@nimmha6708 cosign. If you like this, you'll love Mickey Factz's "Wraith" diss to Royce.
This is one of the greatest diss tracks of all time.
Maybe its a reach, but the "you don't gotta think when niggas already think you are" is probably a nod to Descartes' cogito "I think therefore I am" and he ends the line with "muah" which sounds like the french word for "I" (moi), also Descasrtes is french, genius Lupe
For pretty much everyone else I would say that's a reach but with Lupe you might just be right but that's part of the fun right?
I think he's just saying that Nas thinks he's one of the greatest and Jov thinks the same so you don't have to think about whether you're the greatest when some of the greatest are telling you that you are.
Y’all both are right it’s called a double y’all know the rest lol
@@dealowmorgan885 although I love Og's thought process I doubt we can both be right in this instance because both conclusions contradict each other. One is saying "I think therefore I am" while the other says I don't need to think when the greats already think I am. But, there's a possibility he's right and since Lupe's always seems to be doing a Livestream, if we really wanted to know, one of us can just ask him. Muah! Lol
@@Anomaly-pn2pg lol let’s ask on the live
I just watched Dune and finally got the "talk spicy like the house of Atreides" 🔥🔥🔥
