My husband and I teach Comanche. We have to create our own teaching materials brcause my husband is that last speaker of the men's dialect for Comanche. We could use some tools to help this process along. My husband turned 67 today. We need to preserve our language! Any suggestions?
Thank you for sharing your story and dedication to preserving the Comanche language! Your efforts are truly admirable. There are several AI tools that could assist you in creating teaching materials: Speech Recognition Software: This can help transcribe spoken Comanche into written form, making it easier to create materials. Language Translation Tools: While not perfect, translation tools can aid in translating materials between Comanche and other languages, facilitating comprehension and learning. Language Learning Apps: Look for apps that allow users to customize lessons and incorporate Comanche vocabulary and grammar. Text-to-Speech Technology: This can be useful for creating audio materials in Comanche, especially if your husband's spoken dialect is crucial for preservation. Virtual Reality (VR): VR platforms can provide immersive language learning experiences, allowing learners to interact with virtual environments where Comanche is spoken. Remember, while AI tools can be helpful, nothing replaces the expertise and authenticity of native speakers like your husband. Wishing you both the best in your efforts to preserve the Comanche language! Happy birthday to your husband!
Hi! Thanks for this great informative video. I will take departmental field test just in 2 weeks. I am sure that they will ask AI tools for language learning as we are in this era rn. As my department is English Language Teaching, this question seems like inevitable. Thanks again. Btw, I really fond of Skybox tool. It is incredible one. :)
Thanks for all this, once again it's great to see one of your videos. I've been having some fun with the memes. They are really quite funny and so I'm annoying all my friends by sending them stupid memes. I suppose I won't have too many friends in the future. ... best wishes, Alison
Are you at all concerned that A.I. (especially ChatGPT and similar) will, over time, reduce peoples' actual skills as they become more and more reliant on these tools to produce lesson plans, texts etc.?
steve. totally..been to 3 conferences so far..read a ton of papers..its scary especially deep fake stuff..but we camt stop it..it is just the start..we will need to shape it but also embrace it....no expert I have listened to seems that clear on where this will take us.your point about losing certain skills is clear..Will new skills emerge though?

a bit fast for the last one.... there are several apps for meme generator, but which one do you recommend?
I recommend trying out "Meme Generator Free" by ZomboDroid for a user-friendly and diverse meme creation experience.
Fantastic
Thanks
