Ye wizard with duck is just completly game winning. I had a pretty similar end fight yesterday with item poison. I had a Venom hitting a 10 dmg poison plague and wizard echoing of of that attack and then a charged hammer with 20 dmg to finish the boss. I think if u have duck wizard and charged hammer on the team and you hit both sides in one turn its just gg.
Getting duck I think was a mistake. I would have picked anvil because steel + 2 shield each turn is basically a +2 pips to the middle side. Sure duck with wizard is better, but you didn't know that you will be playing wizard in that run. Nonetheless, duck wasn't a wrong choice by any means, having shortsword was good enough
