I was initially going to skip this video because I'm not especially interested in Buick, but the road trip aspect of it drew me in. This was really nice. As much as I like solidly information-based videos, when they're smoothly accompanied by a story like a road trip, it makes for a really comfortable, pleasant video.
Thanks for the kind words!
PNW in the summer is the most beautiful part of the country.
Roman, I love your enthusiasm for the new buick. I work at a Buick dealer and I can't get over how nice the new enclaves are. The designers have truly stepped up their game
Much like your trail guide vids of late, I really enjoyed this vid. Ripping around in vehicles while showcasing places that most of us won't get to see (or haven't in a dog's age) is pleasantly entertaining. Your delivery is engaging and the scenery beautiful. Please keep making these sorts of vids. Thanks.
I’ve been watching your channel for many years, and am a life long Tillamook resident. So much fun seeing a video in my home town!
As someone that lived in Portland most of my life I can say that the news media makes it sound like it is a drug and crime infested hell hole. It has problems like any large city but Portland is actually not a bad city. The biggest problem, and the thing that drove me out, is high housing prices. Glad you went to the coast. The Oregon coast is beautiful and I love the Cape Meares area. The north coast is a little moe touristy than the central and south coast but I have been to every city on the Oregon coast and I love it.
I dont know when you left, but Portland is going drastically downhill. Housing costs are still going up for some reason, and yet there are thousands of Apartments vacated, and businesses are fleeing downtown, left and right Portlands largest Bank, U.S. Bank, is moving out of the building building named after it. "Portland’s central city had the highest office vacancy rate of the 50 largest downtown office markets in the country at the end of last year, according to a report by real estate firm Colliers. Brokerage CBRE most recently reported that nearly a third of central Portland’s offices were empty." Crime is running absolutely rampant
It’s disgusting- really radical leftist democrats voters are a mindless sheep mob - of rather stupid people.. it’s filthy beyond belief.,
@@christopher9626some people will never admit the truth.
@@christopher9626 US Bank isn't leaving Portland. They just don't need as much office space in the WFH era as they used to, and this is true of a lot of sectors of the economy. So they are shedding a large cost item from their balance sheet. You may be for or against WFH, but that has nothing to do with whatsoever with city government or the political views of a city. Take away the office workers from downtown, and you take business away from coffee shops and restaurants in those areas. This is a reality the office districts are dealing with worldwide, and managing this transition is going to be painful. On the other hand, in the neighborhoods, there are many thriving shops and restaurants. The thing about crime is that it's tracked...with stats.
Love the tour. Greatly appreciate your kind words for Portland and Oregon. Could tell you had a love of our area. Oregon one of the most beautiful places on Earth and Portland on the comeback. Yep, still see houseless. See that in every city. Recently hosted some friends from Minnesota and they were amazed at the natural wonder. I sounded like a gushing idiot as I toured them around the Coast and Gorge. We didn't even get to Central Oregon. They may have passed out. :) Thumbs up Roman!
Nice to see you in town! I’ve lived in PDX for 4 years now, love it here!
So cool!
Thinking Romsn has found a new specific niche. These ride along vids are great, please keep these going as time allows. 😊😊
Will do!
🇺🇸 America is beautiful
Cool video! I just did the same trip this last weekend. Wish you woulda pushed the Buick a lil more and drove it down on the sand! Those roads are so fun, even in a 1996 Grand Cherokee. It handles the turns surprisingly nice for it's age!
Thank you Roman for the Portland tour. But I like the fact certain group of people that only get their news from a certain news network think its a hellhole. Keeps those people out of the city and we are better for it.
Stay in the city and we will be happier too. The city can keep there problems and leftest ways. Obviously it’s not working. Look at all the homeless people and drug addicts.
If buick brought back one of their classic car models that could be cool. They had some great names. Roadmaster, Grand National, Gran Sport.
A very fine review of the new Enclave, Roman. And also, a great mini travelogue on western Oregon.
I’m very familiar with the area you were at, having lived in Lebanon, Monmouth, Woodburn, and finally Salem, OR for 10 years. My wife and I loved the area where we lived. In fact, I didn’t want to move to Tacoma, WA in 1990, when my wife was going to the U of Puget Found for Occupational Therapy. I love that coast drive, and looks like you did, too.
Thanks again.
I really enjoyed this style of video. I know it wouldn't sell but I wish Buick would build a mini van. I want me some super cruise.
Who cares about the gosh dang screen. I’m sick of hearing about screens. All they do is control the radio and car functions. It’s not like they are some magical freaking piece of technology.
I don't even know where to start, besides pretty places like Yosemite Tahoe hwy1 Golden Gate Twin Peaks Sacramento downtown lol, i also walked SF not so clean streets and haven't seen single homeless, or Santa Monica area twice nothing there either, in about 8 trips to Cali i remember noticing 1 homeless person in Redondo of all places, i had to ask friend to drive me to streets to see it when we were near SM pier, so yes, people can get unlucky, or it will never get in face
Roman definitely has a Portland vibe in this vid
Larger tires... not Massive wheels...
no one wants 22" wheels..
It's a market for those who want performance wheels for street cred. Especially if they live somewhere that don't have a harsh weather climate. Some people just like to have nice wheels. Most definitely in the African American community.
I live on the Oregon coast in Manzanita near your destination. Primarily a bicyclist, I find the highways and the Oregon coast hostile two bicyclists. Please, please, please slow down!!!
This be a good replacement for the huge Buick Roadmaster they used to build a new Corvette based Buick Riviera Sports Car be interesting for sure most not happen the bean counters would turn it down
Thanks for saying it’s not a dystopia! Does it have problems? Yes. But show me a city that doesn’t.
Nice but engine is not enough. GM really did a good job on the design though.
it seems to be powerful enough to me tbh
I am definitely curious to try GMs cruise system. My 2016 Civic EX has a WAY better cruise system than our 2024 Bronco Sport Big Bend.
Atta boy Roman….screw supercruise! lol
as he says Portland is nice they drive by a tent set up on the sidewalk. lol
Hands free is a party trick. Just get Ford "co-pilot 360 assist + 2.0" since it does lane centering on any road with good lane lines. GM does not do lane centering without blue cruise. Blue cruise is very expensive. Ford has the best ADAS. Just leave a hand on the wheel.
Love the road trip videos Roman, keep it going! Buick? GM? come on, everyone knows they're trash.
You should have drove out to grants pass OR seaside that no one is over hyping.
😅 nice looking SUV
How did they get away with calling this an ST when Ford has had that trade marked for 20 years? Oh, and Tillamook ice cream is the best out there. No store bought ice cream matches their creaminess and quality of ingredients.
Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla FTW
i am the pull out king...
Why is the Grill so stupidly huge?
Buick is know for Luxury ?
news I think to everyone...
The so called “Super Cruise” is a joke. Can’t believe you Roman comparing it to Tesla’s FSD. Not even in the same league.
Don't like the huge screens and no buttons...
Buick is just a Chinese brand now with US owners.
I hate the fact supercruise exists.
I wish those people just didn't drive..
You are the person I'm stuck behind and the reason for my impending stroke...

Such a Horrible interview NOT on the TFL part but on the Buick part, She is the cheif engineer for 30 years but she cant even point any difference between 3 vehicles. These people are so out of touch from reality with their high paying jobs that nobody around them give them honest feedback that they suck at their job. They really need a reality check that chevy just making junk vehicles which are barely survivable in todays market. These people live in Bubble of shoelickers around them away from reality.
A Buick? I’m not a 100 years old yet🙄
WTF did all this spam come from?
As usual way overpriced
Thanks Roman. Great drive, okay car. Looks comfortable. Don't leave without some Tillamook Cheese! Better than anything from Wisconsin!
Very true!
I clicked on this video because I saw Capes Meares and it sounds like you might have been there on the same day that I had taken my daughter there. Its really weird to see roads from a couple miles from my house on TFL.
Sorry to miss you!
Roman, thanks for doing this. Everyone hates on Portland and it's nice to see someone talk about my home without insulting it
I really liked this episode. It's like I got to sit next to you and hang out.

How come Cole never speaks?
Whenever I see a crossover SUV I can't help but think whoever buys this is going to be the most average, follow-what-everyone-else-does consumer who doesn't really think much about products but rather listens to ads on TV and and word-of-mouth from people who really only know as much as they do.
Roman only pushes vehicles to their limits, off road 😂
