1955, or 2016, a Cheyenne episode still delivers good entertainment. Credit Walker for the solid consistency of the character over 8 seasons, and the writers too.
Clint Walker was a BIG guy. I always thought I would hate to be the horse that had to carry HIM. Over 6'6"! Whew! Great theme song. They knew how to write them in those days. Good show too.
He stood 6 feet, 6 inches tall with a 48-inch chest and a 32-inch waist. In 1958, Thompson described the actor, then starring in Fort Dobbs, as "the biggest, finest-looking Western hero ever to sag a horse, with a pair of shoulders rivaling King Kong's". He will be 90 on May 30.
Lilo Townsend Yes 6'6" 255lbs in his prime, 48" chest in the 1950s but got bigger in 60s-52", size 14 boots, he was & still is a mountain of a man with a heart just as big.
Mama always said I'd stand on one of the rockers of my grandfather's rocking chair and sing along to this when the show came on. He never missed an episode.
Cheyenne, Cheyenne Where will you be camping tonight? Lonely man, Cheyenne Will your heart stay free and light? Dream, Cheyenne Of a girl you may never love Move along, Cheyenne Like the restless cloud up above The wind that blows That comes and goes - Has been your only home But we'll know why When one day cease - And you'll no longer roam Move along, Cheyenne Next pasture's always so green Driftin' on, Cheyenne Don't forget the things you have seen And when you will settle down Where will it be? Cheyenne Cheyenne!
A very good show, and my only knock on it was the character was just too perfect - his s##t never stunk. Of course, I realize this show was made in a different era and heroes were people to look up to and admire. Today, everyone is an anti-hero. I'd prefer my heroes to be classic heroes, but to have no character flaws, to have no doubts or fears leaves no room for a fictional character to grow, and it's that growth that makes for the best stories.

Rating the 1950s-60s western TV series theme songs, I rate this one #2 to the _instrumental_ theme of Wagon Train. I'd go with the theme from Rawhide as #3, and #4 would be the theme from Big Valley. I would place the theme from Bronco as #5 and Riverboat's theme at #6.. I thought almost all of the TV western theme songs (and there were a lot of TV western series, each with a theme song) were pretty good.
Thank you SO much for posting this!!!!! One of my fave Westerns and I just love the theme song..such moving and beautiful lyrics, music and harmonies. They just don't make music or theme songs like the old Westerns.
DON'T JUST GIVE US THE THEME SONG.,GIVE US THE SERIES EPISODES. I USED TO WATCH IS AS AKID IN PURTO RICO DUBBED IN LATINO SPANISH BY LOCAL ACTORS/ ACTRESSES AND VERY WELL DONE.SO STREAM IT IN LATINO SPANISH, PREFERABLY.

'Cheyenne' was one of the truly great TV western shows! Thanks for posting this.
What every kid wanted to be, tall, broad shouldered and great looking - but a real MAN !.
What?? Not a "girly-man" like the Liberals want us to be today??? Hahahahaha.......
Correction: what every boy wanted to be.
@@bevsalzer7509 Yes, correct, although what with the way women bodybuilders are looking today I think that the term " Kid " can be partially correct.
R.I.P. Clint Walker (1927-2018) “CHEYENNE”
Never missed that show when it came on......it was GREAT!!!
I absolutely hated my school in the late 50's/early 60's but my depression always lifted thanks to TV shows like Cheyenne, Bronco, Sugarfoot etc..:)
Thank you for your comment. Yes he is indeed a handsome man. Love his deep voice to.
H e was a true western legend. R.I.P. Clint.
Wonderful man. We will miss you.
Thank you so much for your comment. The quote at the end was my first attempt to put words in a music video so I was proud of it.
Clint Walker was THE BEST. He was handsome - he could sing - and he could knock Hugh Jackman (who I like anyway) into a cocked hat.
Great TV serie, Cheyenne is still in my memories from my childhood... all of us wanted to be as Cheyenne, our very first hero.
Wow...just...wow!
Wow!!!! Great job! I LOVE this one!...Cheyenne, what a man , what a man!
I love the quote at the end too. Very cool...!
just 1 of many T V western l used to love watching, we had great T V back then, even in monochrome,
My favorite TV western when I was a young boy. Clint was my idol.
Cheyenne, Cheyenne
Where will you be camping tonight?
Lonely man, Cheyenne
Will your heart stay free and light?
Dream, Cheyenne
Of a girl you may never love
Move along, Cheyenne
Like the restless cloud up above
The wind that blows
That comes and goes - Has been your only home
But we'll know why
When one day cease - And you'll no longer roam
Move along, Cheyenne
Next pasture's always so green
Driftin' on, Cheyenne
Don't forget the things you have seen
And when you will settle down
Where will it be?
Cheyenne
Cheyenne!
In settling down in nj thanks for asking

Great show 👍
That's great! Cheyenne's the man, for sure!
I like The westerns!!!!
I've learned that the Ken Darby singers were the vocalists for this theme song. Mr. Darby was well-respected as a soloist, composer, and vocal coach.
Written by William Lava and Stan Jones
