Massive respect for getting sober, and I'm glad you got a second chance. You are who you are now, and I respect that you're working every day to do right by folks.
Thank you Nick 🙏 I appreciate you taking the time to watch comment shout out to the 🐐
Your turn to get sober now, @NickShabazz...
@@G-Man01is Nick not sober? I've never heard otherwise...
@@mrdoughface it's a joke
@@G-Man01 Thank you for replying. Glad to hear that. I have enough people to worry about already 🤣
Been there too man. Caught my 1st felony at 17 and went to prison 2x over my heroin addiction and my running partner was my Dad. Luckily something snapped about 12yrs ago and I never looked back. Now I'm married with 3 kids and going back to school to learn how to run CNC mills so I can make knives. I'll make sure to send you one when I'm up and running.
what an amazing turn around good for you shoutout to your dad and family
Same man
Incredible Humanistics
It takes tremendous strength to change your life and own up to your mistakes. I’m impressed and will forever be a supporter of your channel.
Very powerful video. Props to you for turning the ship around! You have an amazing platform and have incredible impact on thousands of people in ways you can’t even conceive. Take it day by day and stay strong. Thanks for sharing, much love
The knife community has been a safe haven for me since I got clean, too. Thanks for your transparency. This is what helps, not pretending like darkness doesn’t exist.
👊
Brother much respect. I was a heavy drinker for 35 years. And I was blessed that I never hurt anyone except myself but after praying 🙏 for god to heal me from drinking and he did. Been sober for 8 years now. You got this.
Good for you 👊
Hey man, you’ve earned my respect. You’ve had a hard start and it was not easy finding your way, but you did. It’s a great thing that you could find the honesty and integrity in yourself. Take care, man.
As someone who was in a similar position with a choice to make, I know how hard it is to turn things around and actively change yourself and your situation. Proud of you man! You’ve become a respected fixture in our edc community where you are known for your honesty. Amazing man!
Mad respect for being so forthright and transparent about all of this, I know it can’t be easy. It’s really commendable and I’m sure your dad would be super proud if he could see the man you’ve become
P
I have been clean for 14 years, but I'm from Illinois and was back and forth from Chicago every week copping blows on the west side. I understand just how hard that lifestyle can be. Good luck to you and anyone dealing with addiction or recovery.
Integrity is everything. I have followed you for years! I have a lot of Respect for you and where you have come from! My past is very similar. Now I have over 3 years clean and sober. Started watching you when I got sober. Now knifes and EDC is my new favorite Addiction! Proud of you Man!
Man, I have had a very different life, I’m 43, work hard, family. Your outlook and insight now is admirable, very genuine, intelligent. Thanks for the inspiring and interesting story, congratulations on your success and take care
I appreciate that
Very glad you found this community and been able to build it with your amazing content!
Thank you for your honesty, it sounds like you’ve been shown a lot of mercy. Taking responsibility for one’s actions… is worthy of respect.
I like your channel, so please keep doing what you're doing and keep out of trouble. And respect for your honesty. 👍🏻
You are a good man for coming to grips with your past and being open about it. I wish you all the best Jerad, and thank you for sharing.
great video thanks for sharing brother. hearing your story and seeing where you’re at now is so motivational. I too found the knife community during a tough time and still working to get out of it.
keep on the grind you will get through it, regardless as long as your being the best man you can be thats all that matters
@@NeevesKnives thanks man will do 🙏🏼
Real glad I took the time to listen to your story. I'm so very glad you were able to break away from those habits that were put upon you by your environment. It takes a lot of strength and a lot of courage.
I was addicted to heroin too man. Been clean since October 17th, 2013. And I'm a multi felon. I still got a really good job as a laser welder. And filled my time with car audio lol. And now tapping into knife collecting. But we have a very similar story. God Bless brother! 🙏
Massive respect Jerad. You being open about your past is inspiring. Thank you for sharing it.
Glad the knife community was there for you, brother.
Wow man I can relate to so much you said. I too got alot of wild and crazy stories that some people won't believe. I grew up in Metro Detroit and saw and experienced a lot of things nobody should ever have. In Feb 2006 I woke up one day on my cousins couch and told myself I don't want this life no more, within a couple days I checked myself into rehab, 5 months later I graduated the program. The day I graduated the program I wasted no time I got in a car and left everything and everyone I knew in the rearview and left the area and moved to a nice small town and started all over. Best thing I ever did!
That's amazing! Most will never have the strength and willingness to do that talk about being a badass
I've been sooo close to what you've been talking about. My dad was the same way, less the paralysis. Claimed to be a hit man for the Milwaukee Mob... Never saw any evidence of that but he was a convicted felon. I joined the Navy when I was 18 just to get away, changed my life, gave me focus. It's been 45 years now and I've been living a better life. Thanks for sharing your story brother.
The past sure as shit doesn't define us. It may be part of us and it may impact options in the future. But it doesn't define us. I'm fairly new to watching your videos. But I see a dude that's working on his business and his family. And this video proves you're working not just on those, but also on helping others. I respect you and how you put yourself out there with this video.
So much respect for you Bro. You ran the gauntlet and came up on top! Thank you for sharing! I am a subscriber for life. So proud of you for getting it together
I could tell, I could tell you really do care about people. Thank you for sharing your story. IMHO, you should be proud of where you were and how far you've come. Like I said, I could tell you care about people. Keep up the great work on yourself, your family and your channel.
Thank you so much!
Gotta respect the honesty. Seems like you’ve come a long way. It doesn’t always work out like that.
I appreciate that
Wow. I was drawn to your channel because of your eloquence, intelligence and your depth of knowledge regarding knives. I’m a couple decades older than you and have come a long way in my life from rather rough beginnings in the Bronx. I don’t talk about it much because other professionals in my line of work (medicine) just come from a different place. Your brutal honesty is a testament to the human spirit and believe me it reflects your strength. There are a great many young men who, to varying degrees, have had a similar start and I hope they get to watch this video. Best of luck and keep up the outstanding work. ✌🏻
I love the honesty and your being “real.” That is some of your attributes that keep me tuning in.
🤝🏾🇺🇸💪🏾👍🏾🙏🏾Congratulations to you Brother on the Recovery Journey, I've been Clean and Sober for 18 years this coming October so I'm HIP.
congrats to you as well
@@NeevesKnives I sure appreciate that Brother, it's not all Peaches n Cream you know!?......🤝🏾🇺🇸💪🏾👍🏾
This is why you’re my favorite, I have grown up in a similar environment and struggled with the exact same issues. Through determination and hard work I am 8 years sober today and working hard everyday to keep it going. Thank you so much for sharing and keep up the great work
Its great that you were able to turn your life around. I enjoy your knife reviews you are my favorite knife channel.
We love you Neeves!!! Thanks for all you do for the community!
I appreciate that
This hit very close to my life. I was down a bad path with friends that wss bad influences. Was addicted to pain killer's. It wss until i hit 25 when things clicked in my head and got cleaned up. After the cloudy mind was cleared i was so disgusted by the things ive done and so embarrassed and my family had to see all of that. I had to make a major change and it took 8 years but im married now. Buying a new house. Clean and a home body enjoying edc stuff and reading books. I still have flash backs of the horrifc things ive done but everyday i look at what ive fixed and built with my wife and that is the strength i find to push down the darkness. Thank you so much for telling your story. This will be added to my inner strength to keep pushing forward to try do much more good to make up for the bad.
What a happy Ending good for you on staying tough so long. Congrats on the house and growth most of us don't make it out alive stay blessed my friend
{Thanks for sharing Jerad, it helps everyone else a lot. I agree with you regarding the knife community, of all the groups I have seen....one of the best and full of many people who are on their second or even third chances. It brings us together even if we don't know it about the others. Props
Absolutely 👊 thank you
This was my exact life. I thought Oceans 11 was a goal. I was a roofer. Became a locksmith at 13. Popped as a Juvenile…thrice. When I was put in Gladiator schools reformatory. I vowed to never get arrested again. Got popped at 17 with a trunk of guns. Caught a break. I committed 100s of crimes and that lead to feeling invulnerable. There was a code. I looked up to old thief’s. Cops did Choir practice at me Pops shop. And like a lot of human beings with opportunities the ones that were there were corrupt n thief’s themselves. Started making legit money and it was more than I got stealing. I know you J. Because you were me. Honor is currency. Ethics leads to honor.
This is a great outlet for you and others and the help you give just by telling your story is incredible.
Well done nan. Double respect. Once for kicking the habit, which is hard but a lot of is eventually get there.
But way more respect for having the balls to talk about it to so many people in such a public way. Which hardly any one does.
Especially when you don’t owe any of us any explanation,
Wow, you have a set man! Just putting this up is amazing. I only was on the fringe of some of the stuff you talked about. Touched me occasionally, I mostly stayed out of jail and was able to get most expunged. I have huge respect for this post and am very proud of your ability to turn your life around. I have just become a much bigger fan.
I’m sure plenty of blokes wish they had a dad as committed to their family as yours 💙
Respect for cleaning up your act. Not everyone has integrity to do it. Glad you did it because you wouldn't be here to give thousands of people the positive message. And a daily positive videos👏👏👏
Interesting and honest video Jerad. I was unaware of your past life. But it's truly great to see that you've made a new life for yourself. Glad that you found the knife community and you certainly are a valued member. All the best going forward. God Bless!
We all have things from the past that can’t be changed. It’s what we do from that point that matters. Love your channel!
I support you Jared if you ever need someone to talk to I'm here I'm might only be 12 but I have a lot of friends and family who lived in similar situations but not as bad your a survivor and my favorite youtuber and you should be everyones.
🙏 👊
Thanks for sharing your story I’m happy to be able to call you a friend. It’s crazy the stupid shit we do when we are younger and all we can hope is that we can grow up, and get our shit together. So many never mature and live a miserable existence. I’m sure there are a bunch of people who needed to watch this and it will give them some hope that they to can turn their lives around. Well brother I hope you’re having a great day talk to you later 👊👊🍻
👊 ❤️
Tough story to tell and hard road to walk. Appreciate you sharing man. This will help a lot of people. Appreciate you more than a random yt comment can express. Peace.
Problems with my life. Your story is inspirational for me to improve. Thanks for sharing.
Youngsters with problematic behavior are usually the most intelligent and creative ones out of the bunch. They just use their outstanding mental capacity in misguided ways and they eventually end up creating morally bad things. So they make both themselves and society suffer. As I have been following you for a long time it is clear as day, that you are a smart and well-spoken person. I am happy you could change your trajectory and decided to use your intellect and energy to create good instead of bad. I wish you the best future and I hope you will unlock even more of the bright side of your potential. God bless you!
🙏 thank you
Mad respect and credit for sharing and being open as you are...I understand why are open...it makes sence...Dont mean to sound condescending but im proud of you and so happy for you turning it all around with a wonderful wife, life and so much success on youtube...great job putting this all together buddy...👊👊👊✌️✌️✌️
👊
Finding community is why the Friends of Bill W. groups work as well as they do. I understand that these groups don't work for everyone, but having a support group around you is necessary. Thank you for sharing.
Hey neeves iv been watching you for awhile and me and you have similar story but instead of your dad it was my brothers iv been clean since 2014 off herion and the knife community has helped me so much also and I’m glad your here man your good dude and if anything I respect you more now cause I never new your backstory just keep going bro.
thank you Donald shoutout to you and your brother
Keep up the good work, you're headed in the right direction.
Thanks for the knife sharpening content. Bravo on your u-turn in life.
Hey thank you for the support your awesome man
When we first moved to the states , about a year living in Seattle, I was ten or eleven ,my dad had some health issues and was all messed up at the hospital in ICU and had me do the same thing....similar experiences in general man.....
Be the Strong One ⚒️
Keeping on Going on 🫶
Peace And Love Brother 🌹
Awesome video. Total respect for you. You are an awesome person. Thank you for everything you do
A lot of ppl can relate to you Jared I've lead a very similar life thanks for sharing brother everyone can change and set a better example like you say society relaying on us
Thanks for sharing your personal life with your subs. We're all just mere Mortals in this life.
Been there brother. Respect for the honesty. I turned it around about 15 years ago.
Thank you for sharing your story. Double thumbs up!!!!!
I just discovered your channel. Saw a couple videos from you before. I listened to this and made me subscribe. Pme of my favorite channels. Good for you man getting clean and sober and doing good for thr knife community.
thank you Eric
Thank you for sharing this, Jerad. I'm also very grateful that you're with us, and I hope you realize how inspiring your story really is. God bless!
Best video ever. Mad respect. Your life / my life. Thank you for honesty
I didn't know any of this since I haven't been able to make it to lives as much as I'd like to, but my respect and support for you is always going to be there man. It takes a lot to open up about things like this. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for telling your story!
Been there, done that..! A new life in a new world. It's all good now. Cheers Jaryd.
You talking about your past and Stassa talking about his accident and his past is awesome! Respect bro!
Great video, and I wish people talked more about how addiction can destroy your morals. If you've never seen it before it's hard to understand how fundamentally it changes people, almost exclusively for the worse.
We go through life...learning at all times
...Are you a good person today? Not necessary to explain your past...not hear to judge ... understand that life is about learning and living....You don't owe anyone an explanation for your past...
The past doesn't make who you are now. We got to keep our heads up and chest out.
Bro, we all have our past. You have saved me tons of money and taught me alot about sharpening! GOD bless. Similar stories, but I'm a latino in long beach. Dad died on the job. Fisherman. Lots of violence bro. I relate and have more respect for you! Thanks 4 sharing Jared. Now, you own a bad ass channel and extremely successful.
My fuckin boy !! You already know but you’re Absolutely an Asset To Me 🤘🏼. That shit we came up in is exactly why we are the men we are today. You know my story brother and it echoes the things you just said. It was all normal to us man but that crazy life built this life. Love you bro. Thanks for sharing. You had some funny shit in there too. Love it. I got them flintstones gunmies boy. Whatchu need.
@Nick Haven't gone thru half of what you spoke about, and as you said, you left a lot out so not gone thru quarter what you gone thru, yet we ended up in the same place. Me, watching your channel; you yon your channel, speaking to ereone both of us with felony records trying to make the wrongs right. I got mad respect for ya for owning it and then speaking about it; it ain't easy, I know. None of it was easy except the getting in trouble. That was all too easy. But yeah, man, you're doing it! Keep on keeping on, man! 💯👊🏽
Respect, I grew up just like you but my best I was you’re best friend, everyone thought we were bros and his dad would even tell people I was his step son, the strength from a family and group of friends is something rare, especially in the hood, I used to run all the time until they let the dogs loose lol. It’s hard to think about all of the people I’ve lost from violence, drugs and prison. I’m happy to see you’ve turned things around. So few of us are to.
👊 💪 ❤️
Your a good man Mr Nerves and a moral one life bites so do drugs so does grief but i know you are a proper fella and I know you will keep trying and I know you will do the right thing. I don't know you but i know that i would have respect for you if I did. I hope you keep loving your good woman and I hope you have some good kids I sure you will be a proper dad you know how it's done. The knife community is happy to have folks like you Jared good strong kind men.
i appreciate that Mathew
Mad respect for you brother. Thanks for always keeping it real.
I just want to say lastly, positive criticisms are risky business. We run the risk of coming off as having a sense of being better somehow than others, or smarter or talking down on people. I am not that, I just have a bad habit of attacking issues that may be difficult to speak about but that I feel passionate about. I speak up with zero I’ll intent in my heart, but rather to offer alternative perspectives that I think (I THINK) are well meant and helpful. I acknowledge though, my ideas may also be wrong. All love!
Thanks for sharing brother I grew up in a crime family aswell.
Well done, sir.
Thanks for sharing Jerad. Its a privilege to hear your story. God bless.
On a side note, i swiss cheesed my roof, and had to fix it too. Lol
Awesome testimony Jared, you do have a lot to offer people in the only thing else left for you to do is give your heart to Jesus Christ if you haven't already😊
Cheers brother, similar past and I feel this. It is amazing when you get some distance and perspective and wonder who that person even was and how they survived. ✊
....lemons into lemonade. I am a fan forever.
Good for you, brother, for getting straight! I can understand your situation, my dad was an old school bootlegger & moms was a druggie, we stayed on the run from the police till I was about 15 & i started getting into a lot of trouble, pops got busted so he changed quits bootlegging, but moms was a junkie her whole life & I followed that path & it's cost me a lot in my life but I'm trying! Keep on keeping on!👊🏾❤️🔥🥷🏽
Stay tough brotha 💪
i know how difficult it is from my own experience.. i was also a criminal for years.. i grew up like that and was in prison for 7 years.. after that i got back together with my highschool love and she got me out of there.. that was 15 years ago and now i have 2 children with her, a beautiful house and i have the most beautiful life i could ever imagine and i am thankful for it every day.. everyone makes mistakes.. the only question is how you deal with it.. intelligent people make the same mistake max 2 times and stupid people make the same mistake over and over again without learning from it
That is such an amazing thing, good for you, I gotta say I'm also doing really good, loving life not the high speed life before but if done enough crazy for 10 people, now all I want is to be legit and make money get healthy hit me up sometime
Love you, brother. RESPECT!
I've heard you talk about some of this on your lives during story time. Always honest, always interesting.
Thanks for sharing I also made bad decisions and choices when I was younger drugs running drugs running from cops sounds like my life I should be dead or in prison myself I turned my life around 10 yrs ago I’m married to a great woman and have 3 kids life is worth living
👊🏻much respect and love the channel

Damn man I went down that road also, changed my life as well, so I can relate to you much respect
Proud of you ! Pray repent and trust in jesus ❤ that is what i do lately
If there's one behavior we owe it to ourselves to beat, badger, and bully out of the population, it's being a judgmental bastard.
Thanks for sharing Jerad!
Well told story! I'm becoming a fan of your approach to making videos. Do I knife giveaway tonight- I'm camped out at the hospital with my baby, it would be good timing, lol😅
I've never done drugs or committed any real crimes but i respect the people who do and can turn their life around. Probably only one out of a thousand can manage that.
Always good to see a ChiTown boy hittin it. U would have fit right in on the south suburbs🤘👊

👏 another month down 👊
Great turnaround that can be hard(not sure if your on doan) but thats cool.(methadone).you seem super capable of anything.
i can see that talking bout that stuff is working you up still. its the past that made us...and its the future we forge.
