To be spot on - to be exactly right, or perfect
To be on a roll - have a series of successes
To brush up - to improve or polish (for example language)
To get a word in edgeways - to have a chance to speak( usually negative)
To edge forward - to move forward slowly
In turns out - something happens in a particular way
To crack me up - to make me laugh a lot/hard
In a way - to some extent
To make head or tail of something - to understand something complex (often in negative)
