    Great minds must think a like because I do something similar. I keep bacon and hamburger grease and use it to make dish soap. The only difference is I dissolve enough of the bar into hot water to put it directly into the dish water and the suds last and last and last. Stay safe, my friend.

      I put some of my scraps from my Bastille invented in colored sops, no waste. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only person to save there grease after cooking but only organic meats, my butcher at my grocery is very nice and gives me trimming g and tallow when he can.

    How wonderful you make your own dishwashing soap. I don't mind watching 'someone else' washing dishes. 😉😆 Actually, though the dishwasher works, I use it for my glasses, but I enjoy washing a lot of my dishes, pans, etc., myself. I am going to have to make some of my own.
    Cheers and Blessings 💕💕💕

    Fabulous idea💖.
    Can you use it straight away after the soap hardening up or does it have to mature first, please?
    Also, could it be liquified to put in a push bottle that you have on hand, if someone prefers liquid soap?
    Thank you🙏💝

    I kitted up in all my safety gear and clothes last soap and up splashed a tiny drop into my lip and wow did that burn and turn into a fat lip lol so even when you do all the right things accidents can happen. I love the look and sound of your dishwashing soap. Essential oils are very expensive here due to being so low on the map I think. What gorgeous little bowls. You have such beautiful crockery and glasses Patrick

    I know this is an old video, but just came across this. I love dish bars, well certain ones to be exact. I have bought a few that leave an oily residue on surfaces and some that rinse clean. I would like to try my hand at making these myself because the one I use now is pretty expensive. (Nellies). I do love it though, rinses completely clean. I was wondering if this recipe makes a soap that rinses clean or does it leave a residue? Thanks in advance. Love the video by the way

    Love the Ramekin dishes will have to find some I have made before but I got a little daring and added honey need to play with that thought more as you know when adding a natural sugar it heats up

    • @SoapyOaksFarm
      @SoapyOaksFarm  3 роки тому +1

      Yes indeed, adding honey/sugars can be a bit challenging, but I have found in individual molds this not much of a concern.

    Hi Patrick. I love this idea and I think my dishwasher, Ken, will like it as well. It is worth a try if nothing else isn't it to cut down on plastic waste? You could also fine grate the bars and add to the bowl of water to get the same effect as traditional wash liquids. Ken has trigger finger and is always dropping things but he should be OK with those darling little ramekins. Because of my disc problems and not be in able to have my spinal pain block injections during covid, himself does most household chores if anyone is wondering. Well, big hugs to you my darling and tickles to all the critters. Another addition to my wish list! X x x

      Hi Rachel, you are very kind, however there is no secret to this recipe, it's simply 100% coconut oil, you can figure the recipe at soapcalc.net , as for your question about a beginner soap, of course, I would be happy to.
