Is the job market still pretty competitive and tight? I hear a lot of gloom and doom talk about the field. Is this the reality or is this just growing pains within the field? Does. My hospital is currently offering $10K sign on bonuses for pharmacists. Many retail pharmacies in the area are also offering sign on bonuses. This shows, at least in some parts of the country, it is less competitive than it used to be. We are seeing less pharmacy school graduates which means those going into it in the upcoming years will likely have a better chance of getting a residency/job after graduation. Residency helps more with getting a job in a specific area of interest vs. getting a job in general.
That's a personal decision! Some people like a smaller group and others like more co-residents. There isn't a right or wrong answer here. I would recommend finding a place with at least one co-resident. It would be hard to go it alone.

Please is the mandatory internship done by International pharmacist who are converting their license to a US one also a residency.
No. Internships occur prior to licensure. Residency occurs after licensure.
