I had no idea that the 'I got the....' bassline was by Dave Peacock. Also, another great Hip-hop/G-Funk bassline is Snoop Doggy Dog's (as he was known back then) Gs 'n' hustlers. As far as I know, it's an original and not a sample.
Excellent! "Fusing the Old with the New"...Those bands then would use some "old" jazz tracks into their own thing as well as some historic jazz horns, with a little bit of Sly, and add live drums and Bass, etc....Carrying on...Personally, I get sick hearing the ticky-tack lame snare drum tracks and lazy un-soulful autotune vocals in what passes for much of "rhythm and blues" nowadays. No Soul, just a soundtrack for shopping for shoes while checking out the Honeys...Thank you for your appreciation!

IMHO Flea‘s bassline in Young MC‘s „Bust a move“ is one of the coolest ever in Hip Hop. It‘s from 1989 thought but it has an „early 90‘s-vibe“ to me.
The tone is not in the fingers; tone is in the stuffed animal pants.
Fantastic video!
Great break down!
Damn. Louis Johnson at the end)) his signature MM stingray is the best bass ever assembled
My favorite bassline is from Notorious B.I.G.’s “Juicy.” It’s very groovy and fun to play.
The bassline to Biggie's "Hypnotize", a pitch-shifted sample of Herb Alpert's "Arise", is also great.
Long live Louis Johnson
Personally, I always go back to George Porter's Bass lines with the Meters....Roots. And thank you about Labbi Sifree.
The Eminem/Chas & Dave connection is wild.

I've just found out it's a sample of
Bernard Wright's 'Haboglabotribin'
Great video. I love the bass in Can It Be All So Simple by Wu Tang Clan.
great video. bass will always sound good with drums and hip hop
❤ spot on……AGAIN ‼️‼️🔥🔥
Great channel
Fire video bruv
Thanks, great job! Bee gees's song «Search ,find» has very groovy and interesting bass line. Can you play it please?❤
Love your observations and analysis. Great content. 👍
people hate on nu metal but it brought the bass in the spotlight like never before
No, many other genres did that
I think disco did it first!
@@AlfieForrester i meant in metal music

It depends on what is considered Nu metal.
Like a lot of genres,
some bands were just lumped in with that label.
@@abegarfield7031 that's true. i think alt/nu metal bands like RATM, Primus, Mudvayne, Korn have great bass work
hi paul! very nice video. Could you make a video with the bass line of Tupac to live and die in LA, please?

Thanks, Paul. You're producing some gemstones tonight!
The bassline in 2pac's 'To Live and Die in LA' is fantastic.
