I worked for Stanley on and off from the editing of FMJ until he died. He could be intimidating or totally charming. Anyone that worked directly with him was priveliged to do so. I miss him and his razor-sharp wit.
Christiane was Stanleys angel and the glue that kept him going until the end. I cherish all the conversations I have had with Mrs Kubrick. She is a graceful, warm and brilliant. Not to mention a tremendously great painter. Since the fall MySpace I've since lost contact . I hope to have a chance to have a conversation with her once again. Much besos Christiane J Baudelaire
I own two signed prints of Christiane Kubricks paintings...one is of Stanley sitting by the pond in their garden, one is of some plants in pots...both are absolutely wonderful, the painting of her husband shows such love, it really moves me.....they were a wonderful couple.
I remember reading or watching in a documentary that it is her paintings hanging on the walls in the apartment that is used in his last movie w. Tom Cruise..which intrigued me to research her work...its beautiful, just as the lady who made them.
We're fortunate to have the comments of Christiane Kubrick and others who knew Stanley Kubrick. They help balance and correct the crazier public myths about a man who, when all is said, was "merely" the author of some of the greatest films ever made.
She is a lovely woman. His live sounds full rich and wonderful. I remember him dying when I was at school studying film and it hit me pretty hard. He was doubtless taken too soon and had another couple of films to give and in this sense it was incredibly sad he passed away. Literally worked himself to death on Eyes Wide Shut which is in his top films without a doubt.
@straker2 Yes indeed Christiane Harlan Kubrick is a real, genuine and wonderful woman. I used to write to her on her art website and she wrote back often. And she is an incredible talent as anyone can see in her paintings. She was Stanleys muse and he often used her painters eye for all of his films after they married. What a great couple they were. They played off each other very well. Bless her heart.
juan baudelaire her paintings are beautiful..I never realized those were her paintings in his movies..clockwork and eyes wide shut etc... She comes across as very genuine and her beauty comes thru naturally...
Is pretty remarkable the polar opposites she and Stanley came from, and their interests in the arts. Yet had this tremendous lasting relationship. I think The Aryan Papers could've been the flip side to Dr. Strangelove, and may have been good for Stanley and his fans to have a lasting impression of the REAL insanity that can happen in war.
I havent spoken to her for years but she does indeed have her own wonderful website on her art work and every summer on the Kubrick estate they have an Art fair with live music and resident artists. the reason she and i spoke was because I chose to talk to her about her's and mine own art works as we are both painters. i never thought to bring up Stanley to her but occasionally she did and the stories were funny. check out the documentary about her uncle HARLAN both Christiane and Jann are in it
I can only say that, without Kristiane, Stanley couldn´t or wouldn´t have made the move to England, he needed the cover and background to do that. And that was his fulfillment, the secret wish that can only be realised with a ring. It´s not a deal, it´s a head to love somebody....
@@amerocker bruh guy died at 1999. He actually planned on making a film about "duh nazis" called the "Aryan Papers," but he shelved it off because Steven Spielberg was making something very similar at that time (Schindler's list). I remember in the film from the blu ray about him that he doesn't like making things that already exist or seem too similar to other films

@@ADayInTheLifeofMrsPerkins Ohh, I'd forgotten that fact, might have to watch it again! Her artwork is beautiful and as you say, she is also. cheers x

I think his work and passion , enthusiasm for films and love for his family is to be admired.
Ended on a bleak note, but Christiane seems just as lucid and literate and impressive as the Kube

"Age cannot wither her, nor custom stale her infinite variety..." for faith she is a Treasure and the very model of a Birthday Liebchen.
She was really cute in Paths of Glory.
He was a genius and a great storyteller, writer, artist and cinematographer!!!.
Stanley Kubrick was a true artist, and a great man. Didn’t seek or want fame, unlike many people now he was famous because he had talent.

This is a very sweet comment
No matter how many times I see it that end scene of Paths of Glory never fails to make me tear up. It is Kubrick at his most emotional and human.
If you haven't already you must see the interview where Spielberg talks about Kubrick and the scene you mention in particular.
Glad to have seen this. What a beautiful, intelligent woman.

Got two of her paintings and they are beautiful xx
She's lovely

She is adorable
Sorry my english no is good, why kubrick no can realice nazis film? thanks
It was too painful for him to read and see the actual documentation and films that the Nazi's made of the holocaust.
Because spielberg made schindlers list and kubrick saw it as unnecessary to make another nazi film
