It’s 2024.. I know. As a dj and music lover I go back to this album .. and find inspiration again and again.. this album got it all . Lil louis and Larry Heard Chicago’s genius. Bless.
This song was on my headset for 24hrs while stationed in Virginia, out to sea, away from all I knew and loved, but learned what it was like to be isolated and never again, this song brought me back mentally. If you were in the military, you know exactly what I am saying in the 90's was the "war" transition years, a lot of us didn't come back, we needed something to carry us besides training, for me, it was music, and this was the song which kept my soul sane. HOOORAH!
Lil Louis a Chicago legend. I use to attend all of his parties at the Bismarck Pavilion during the Thanksgiving holidays every year back in the 80's and early 90's. I remember in 89 when Louis got the deal with Epic he had his triple white Porsche sitting by the front door of the Bismarck Pavilion. Louis always came to my school promoting his parties passing out flyers and I also use to see him on the Dan Ryan El train promoting.
If there was a award for how many times you can buy a CD I will win it with this one. This is probably one of the most underrated albums ever this here to me is no different from listening to an Norman Connors collaboration or Incognito album. It is truly on the level of greatness. This album was truly a level up from his first album for sure and just be going to the Bismarck like waiting in those long lines to hear him DJ it was truly worth it in one of the best parts of my youth. I am a true Chicagoan and when this man when this was out. I happened to move to Fort Worth Texas everyone that heard me playing this they wanted to to borrow my CD. I just let them have it and brought another one. I knew once I gave it to them I would never see it. 😂😂😂😂
I had my kids at a young age and they would mimic the bassline when it came in and then the drums would have them bouncing in their car seats and clapping. I think I was the only guy in Chicago that was banging this out of my car that has customized stereo system. Just came back to this song TODAY and have not stop listening to it!
@@marcusrembert5617 yessir it was. I remember my parents stepping in the house whenever I played Nice and Slow and I've Got the Love You Wanted. Miss them days...
In my early teens, I heard this song on the radio and was mezmerized by its strange beauty. I ran to the family piano to try to figure out the chords so that I could play along with it. When the song was over I just KEPT PLAYING that four bar chord sequence over and over again. I never wanted the song to stop. ♥
One of the best albums by a house music artist. This track stands the test of time. The vocals by Joi Cardwell are majestic. Get in your car, put this album on and drive somewhere. #Highwaymusic
I don't know how old this is. But I do know that I'll be playing it for the rest of my days. It's so sick. Not one snare.. So, deep. So heavy but the vocals are light. Like I said. Sick
in 1992, I got this cassette free from a DJ. THIS SONG CHANGED THE EMOTIONAL VALUE OF MUSIC FOR ME. This song was the SADE' of house music
