congratulations for the project and the courage to live in such a wonderful place, in these places reliability is needed to produce energy in OFF GRID and for this reason Victron is a leader. Happy to live Off grid too.
Lovely project. Can you detail what system you use to divert the pellet stove heat to the hot water tank, and how and by what means you isolate this in the summer and then rely on the immersion coil. Any parts or detail would be great. Thank you.
the pellet stove is a 'water+'-type and it is directly connected to the boiler. The stove works only on demand by the boiler and that is managed by the easy software of an app. As soon as the batteries pass 80% of their capacity, an aquastaat takes over the heating of the boiler and the stove is out of work.
Wonderful place, but he said he doesn’t have a cost for heating but you said he has. 😊a pellet stove. Do you make your own pellets from your wood? If so, could you let me know what used to create the pellets please as I’d like to do the same
As the pellet stove is new, I expect it was a slight error in saying there are completely no costs. But in the grand scheme of things the pellets are relatively cheap to purchase and last a long time with this type of stove.
you're right! During 1,5 month the sun does not come over the mountain and then the light is too weak to work with solar energy only. But apart from these 6 weeks and in case of very long bad weather, it is free of charge 🙂
Beautiful. Could also look at a pumped thermal solar collector for the geyser / hot water. And a small Inverter genset just in case! But then a Quatro might have been a good idea Genset could be LPG powered.
I got nearly the same build, 2 mpii and an Rs450, it's working nicely for 2 years now. I've had problems with aes mode which is unreliable, victron need to improve Aes and mpii output power information, let's say with a user correction curve.
More than half of the year we cook outside on wood. Inside we have an electric oven and indeed we can also cook on gas during December/January when sunlight is poor and/or doesn't reach the valley to fill our batteries..
No, There's an emergency generator. During December/January when sunlight is poor and/or doesn't reach the valley it will automatically run when the load of the batteries descends under 20%.
The water in the pond is not stagnant. It's connected with the ponds and a tributary of the main river. As for now we have a lot of insects there but no bullies.
It"s in fact a purification station with several compartments. It only needs oxygen which we can deliver with a small oxygen pump and electricity of our Victron batteries.
Life in OFF GRID is freedom. It's independence from today's strange world. There is nothing better than living in a tiny house in harmony with nature.
Very cool project and beautiful house! Roofit Solar BIPV roof fits perfectly onto this kind of a house.
Nice place, nice setup, nice people ! Roel & Mic, thanks for showing us your beautiful home and land.
Nice BUT very dangerous in Heavy Rain Times. Ut all will be away if the river rises only 3meter
Not much sun. But lots of water
Incredible! Thanks for the video 😁
Glad you liked it!

Who is the installer... I m curious (and from Belgium)? Thanks
Nice license plate for the 'van' too!
Yeah, I noticed that too.
I like this video. As a proud owner of a victron ESS I know it was the correct decision
Wow very beautiful home👍

Fantatis. Dat is een plek om te leven.
Your castle has a moat! Any drawbridge plans? :)
Yes

Cooking is on gas?
partially (oven is on electricity)

Hmm, no generator? Cool!
Is that the Ourthe river?
No the River Semois

Nice build but I think the stagnant water surrounding the house was a mistake. Thats going to attract alot of bugs.
Especially mosqitos.
it doesn't 🙂
the water is in place for 4 decades and, strange enough, no mosquitos, only horsefly's at the time the cows are at home and only in june

How do you manage waste water?
They have a septic tank
a water treatment plant..@@VictronEnergyBV
