- Destiny 2 Episode Revenant - Solo New Vespers Host Dungeon First Boss Fight Encounter "Raneiks Unified". Just a quick video showing the first boss fight encounter in the newly added dungeon during Episode Revenant. Details below.
Unfortunately, at this point it seems unlikely that any of the other encounters in the dungeon are possible to solo on contest. The final boss certainly not, and this boss itself would only be possible if you get lucky with damage chunks. I spent quite a bit of time testing out different setups and loadouts, but ultimately nothing really came close to be able to meet the DPS requirements. For it to end up being possible, all it boils down to is finding some interaction with this boss that does a lot more damage than it should, having things do more damage than they should (for example stasis chunking), or getting an infinite damage phase for an essentially free kill. I never once had the Behemoth super do remotely close to enough damage or chunk, and all other seutps weren't close. Other than that, the rest of the fight is easily manageable. However, there's only so much I can test myself, so I think any more time spent would be a waste of time, and holding off on the normal dungeon clears and guides any longer isn't the best for the channel and content. That being said, I'm happy enough to have a no dupe solo of the first encounter on contest.
Outside of that, this encounter is pretty fun. Behemoth super does very well for the damage phase, dealing massive damage to all of the servitors. It's a little inconsistent though, sometimes you'll get massive chunks to about half HP, other times you'll only get around a third. Not a bad fight overall though.
My plan for the dungeon will be to post this boss, the final boss, and a compilation of my first normal clear. Tomorrow will be the solo flawless run, and after that will be guides. Apologies for the delays on getting these all done, I wasted a lot of time testing things in contest that didn't end up working out, so the normal cadence on new dungeon releases was completely thrown off. I'll have to consider what better way to do it for future dungeons if this format continues. There's a balance between wanting to go in and test out contest (and the expectation with it), but then also suffering for normal content as a result of what would normally be a good few clears in the same period of time time.
For a quick explanation of the mechanics: You need to clear enemies until the mini-boss spawns, defeat that and you'll teleport up. Clear all of the enemies upstairs and use the buff to break the boss into all the little servitors. Two of those servitors will have glowing eyes, and you have to look at their nameplate to see what number. Do this twice for a total of 4 numbers, then when you're back downstairs you can shoot the 4 correct numbers to start DPS.

So me personally I think that it’s completely fine because I thought the first encounter would not be doable because of enrage timer but then you cooked up in the lab and that was the coolest thing I have seen and I knew you wouldn’t be able to do this but that’s honestly what happens with such a poorly built dungeon they made it so you can’t even use tether in it and bungie did really poorly in this dungeon tbh

I feel this dungeon can be soloed easier than other dungeons. Mechanics are not too hectic

I’m trying to solo this boss on my warlock and man I dunno what kind of damage strategy I need lol. Somehow I gotta be able to hit as many of the servitors as possible but it’s tough. Did 3 phases and only got to the halfway point because there’s no time to damage this boss I feel.

Great run, Eso! We appreciate the time you invest in contest mode. It's a shame it can't be done solo, but I guess that's the main point of it. With that said, do you think this could be done with a Warlock or Hunter? Because Titan has an insane damage output, and it already takes a lot of time. I can't imagine how it would be with the other classes.
Every dungeon can be solod, the biggest challenge is the tedium of it

@@manuelito1233 didn't use to be like that, before ghosts of the deep anyone decent enough to succeed at GMs on a regular basis could solo dungeons without breaking their backs over it, nowadays you need to be pretty much on the same level as eso with the patience of a saint and the performance of a robot to put up with these long complicated mechanics and 10-second dps phases without ever dying
what a satisfying DPS phase, I can already imagine one titan glacial quake + one hunter tether + another titan spamming solar uppercut melee combo (since shatter from glacial quake didn't stacks).
Pyrogale with Burning Maul got a 10% buff, so combining this with Parasite and Glacial Quake and a Tether can be really good.

Thanks for sharing and you make it all look so easy. You the reason I've tried to solo alot of the content because I use your builds and try my best. You are one of the main reasons I still play the game. I like to challenge myself to the best of my abilities.
It's insane seeing you do this on contest solo. Thanks to you talking about how Raneiks is RNG based, we made sure to do as much dps and hide as much as possible. But we stopped at Atraks. It was all downhill from there. One day we will complete a contest mode activity. And I will get Icebreaker..but that'll be on normal. That RNG is about to suck ass.
Btw, you can shoot the decoy from suppressor in the animation for deploying it, which sets it off immediately. Very useful for final encounter to reduce time in radiation from the puppets.

ngl raneiks is most satisfying boss i ever dealt with solar titan, if bungie release solar fulmination in revenant, im sure that even more satisfying looking at infinite ignite over and over
In my opinion so far this dungeon feels easier than greed, remembering the numbers can be a bit tricky if people can't remember them but i rather have that than to just stand in the middle praying the other mobs don't shoot you a lot
On normal the dungeon isn’t too bad i got to this encounter alone in like 2 hours. Really fun dungeon and the setting is so cool

man, it really seems unnecessary to add rage for dungeon bosses (I suposs they want to make contest mode like a raid), the effort is appreciated, but I gues it's just impossible to do legit solo, good job as always, Eso.

So the numbers you have to shoot have something to do with all the clone servitors that come out of the boss after he shoots the blue buff thingy, but how do you identify which servitor is the one ?
The servitors that you need to pay attention to have red markings around their eye. There will be 2 servitors that have these markings, ADS or look at them to see their name, the number you need to shoot will correspond to the number at the end of each servitor's name. Only 2 red marked servitors will be visible when you go into the explody-shank area, to get the other two numbers repeat the ad clear section and kill the Machine Priest again WITHOUT picking up Operator, otherwise you will reset your numbers. Doing this twice gives you 4 numbers in total, grab Operator and shoot them to start the damage phase. It will de-spawn every enemy upon entering damage phase and spawn another Surpressor shank, grab it and use the replication ability near the boss to split it and start damage. Repeat as many times as necessary.

For hunter during damage phase would tether be the go to here or would it be better to run silence and squall or gathering storm.
Was running it with some people last night and came across an infinite dps bug for this encounter. Not sure how we did it but we started dps and it just never went away lol

Tether got disabled because it was causing server errors but Titans still live rent free in Hunter and Warlock mains heads for no reason. 😂🤦♀️😂
@@TheInfamousS it got disabled for contest. It'd have to stay disabled afterwards if it was a server issue, though I could imagine it being a problem if 3 Quiver Hunters are just spamming the separated blob.
@@TheInfamousS I'm a warlock main myself but hunters acting like they have it hard is hilarious. Few things in the game can match the raw killing power of solar hunter. Consecration wipes out Fallen fodder and they're immediately calling it out of line. Hilarious.
