The greatest jazz pianist to ever come from Europe.
Tete had complete understanding of jazz idiom generally and of Monk music specifically.
He managed to sound like Monk and like himself at the same time (not an easy thing).

vova47 Puerto Ricans do speak Spanish, the same as Americans or Australians speak English, just with minor differences

JuanDeCarmen - First, you not telling me anything I didn't know already. Second, how is that related to anything in my comment?.... I was talking about musical sounds not the language.

vova47 Sorry, the comment was not aimed at you but at the guy below, who said that Puerto Ricans do not speak Spanish

um, but why use this qualifier "from Europe." He's just a great pianist, that's all!

@@MyFlare123 Maybe because he IS the greatest jazz pianist to come from Europe. NOT THE greatest jazz pianist ever?

Guy on my job said Puerto Ricans etc don't speak Spanish they used to speak 3 languages in Spain. Castille ,Aragon, and in Barcelona ,Catalonian. Between France and Spain there are Basques who may be Celtic folks lol. This great jazz pianist is from Cstalunya or Catalonia.

HURST KEVIN Puerto Ricans do speak Spanish, the same as Americans or Australians speak English, just with minor differences. In Spain there are 4 recognized official languages: Spanish (also called Castellano) in whole Spain, Basque in the Basque Country, Catalan in Catalonia, Galician in Galicia.

I know ! Mr friend was talking about regional differences. Another friend says Spanish friend when he means Cuban etc. In USA many say they are Spanish when they mean Spanish-speaking. LOL

+Gerard Caen Thank you much Gerard. i was hoping to get the name of the 1st 2 minutes or so, which sound much like terry Adams of NRBQ, whom Monk has had a profound influence on several levels.
