As much as I hate my continued hospitalizations, it’s always best to be prepared. These are few of my own must have’s for hospital stays:
Kleenex - hospital tissue is really rough!
    Lip balm
10ft iphone charging cable - available on amazon
Soft Cozy Blanket from my sister - for comfort & warmth
Leggings & a stretchy bra - (since I always have to wear the hospital gown)
    A Ty Peek-a-Boo’s - they are phone/device holders

Sorry you're in the hospital again, but glad you're feeling better. This probably wouldn't apply to you Jaquie, but when I was hospitalized my Mom stayed with me and saved everything that would keep from my food trays (rolls, salt packets, napkins, unused tea bags, etc.) so we'd have extra if needed rather then wait for a nurse to bring something or Mom have to go get it. A couple of times I had rolls leftover from dinner as a midnight snack, lol.

I’m so sorry you’re back in the hospital but I really hope you feel better and get to go home soon! I got to do one of my new favorite things....watch one of your vlogs while attempting lunch. It’s a much needed pick me up since I’ve been having my own health challenges. I didn’t realize how much this time helps me be better able to face the ups and downs I’m dealing with now.

I’m in for spinal surgery and I used your last video to help me pack for my procedure. I overpacked a bit. But I do feel pretty prepared and am super grateful for all the help I’ve gotten from you.

I feel for you +Mary Ma. I've had 6 spinal surgeries. I hope all goes well and I wish you as speedy a recovery as possible. Not sure if you are new to this (prob not), but the best advice I can offer is to get moving as soon as the Dr and nurses deem it possible. My experience is that although it is painful, it helps in the long run. xo Heather🇨🇦

a tip for when you're not the one hospitalized but you're going to be there for a long time: bring a pillow. i was at the hospital for 10 hours with my mom who was having surgery and my ride lived far away so we stayed there the whole time. i curled up on one of hte longer guest chairs and fell asleep and would've loved to have a pillow or blanket lol

I have headphones by a company called cozy phones. It’s a headband-style that fits flat against your ear so you can sleep with them on. Comes either with a super long cord or Bluetooth. It has improved my sleep immensely.

Ah I got a blanket, don't know if it came from Brave soul blankets, while I was hospitalized. They knew I was a dog fanatic and gave me a paw print blanket in my favorite colors, cream, brown, and black. Oddly enough it was semi quiet in the hospital when I was there. I got these cute polar bear socks that are incredibly soft with little rubber dots on the bottom to prevent slipping.

Your tips are amazing. I especially love the earphones and sleep mask. I have one for you. Many years ago my doctor ordered me a foam egg crate mattress cover for under my sheets, and it made the bed sooo much more comfortable, that I always have one to bring. They are cheap and roll up very easy. The egg crate one is important, because it keeps you cooler than just a regular foam one.

I hope you are feeling better and will be heading home soon, Jaquie. Despite you being in the hospital, it is good to see you again. I really miss your vlogs on a daily basis, but definitely understand your desire to step back some.
A couple suggestions for a hospital bag, one of which is often in lieu of that long phone charger, is a good old extension cord. It helps when I need to plug in my laptop and phone and/or heating pad and it gives me the added length too. I also like to have a few large safety pins because some times my charger wires get caught in my blankets or pillow or are just irritating. This way, with lots of length from my extension cord, I can pin the excess wires out of the way. I often pin them to my bottom sheet either along the side of my bed or under my pillow so it isn't a hassle with my top sheet and blankets. Hope these ideas also help somebody. Be well everyone! xo Heather🇨🇦

Hi Jaquie sorry to hear you are back in the hospital. I’m also in the hospital again since May 24th and I can’t go home until probably Monday or Tuesday I take most of the same things with me. Heating pad, stuffed animal, blankets, my iPad, and my braided 10 ft Ipad charger, my brush, tank tops ( I have Hickman line, and tank tops work good plus I hate Hsp gowns) , dry shampoo, my own pajama pants, my own socks

My dad always needs Maggi, the german version of soy sauce. 😊 also his mobile and big headphones for the small tv by his bedside. Other must haves are a fabric napkin and his own medication. We also always bring him his mail and sometimes homemade food along with tons of his favourite sweets, a bit of normality, life does not stop because you‘re in the hospital! (Thank to the Frey life for this revelation!)

Sorry. You are/were in the hospital, but I'm glad you are feeling better.
My hospital bag is big enough to hold my CLAP machine, toiletries that are just for the hospital, 2 10 foot charger cords, with a charger plug that holds both cords so I only need one socket to charge my phone and tablet, pens, paper, a Penny Press Variety puzzle book, my reading glasses, a monocular that I use to watch TV, and 2 sets of ear buds just in case one gets damaged.

When I'm in the hospital for all my medical problems they make me were a hospital gown and I HATE it. Especially with my autism and sensory issues the materials of the goun makes me uncomfortable and I don't feel good anyway so why make me suffer through the stupid gown too. One time I refused to put it on so my mom physacly put it on me herself. Btw I'm 14 years old.

I always like to bring my favorite soap and, when I am admitted for longer than a few days, I also bring some"normal clothes" for when I am having a good day in the hospital. Also, I have to remember to bring all medical items my hospital doesn't carry (for me that's my extra long feeding tube, my port needle and some of my meds). Oh and I completely forgot essential oils. I find it calming to put lavender oil on my pillow, it also helps me sleep.

I haven't been in in a while but one thing I wish I'd thought of bringing (I got this idea from a travel vlog!) is a multi-block extension cord! It'd mean not having to worry about short chargers but also in my hosp there are only 1 or 2 sockets since the others are in use for the bed, feed pump etc and I've found myself having to stop charging my iPod so I can charge my phone or having trouble reaching the device or socket.

Thankyou!!! So many things that could help me!!! I don’t know if it’s helpful-but I can’t manage without my phone AND internet! I also find cleanser/toner/moisturising (and makeup remover if ur that way inclined-I’m not either!) facial wipes for sensitive skin (fragrance free) are a LIFESAVER!!! 3 steps in one, and super if ur feeling not up to doing the whole “routine”!!! Sensitive baby wipes/antibacterial wipes are awesome too-not just for me, but for family/visitors too-they make my life easier in hospital anyway!!! I guess wipes of some description look like my jam, but they are disposable, and make u feel 1/2 decent when ur really unwell-(i don’t use them all the time, but they are good to have on hand). I can’t manage at all without at least one of my pillows from home-mainly the one for my bad lower limb joints, and if I can, a pillow from home for my head. I like to make quilts when I’m able-I find a quilt that family/or a friend has made (or a partially made one of mine🤨-it takes a bit for mine to get finished😕), cheers me on my darkest hospital days!. I hope my suggestions can help another warrior!!!❤️

I use a 10 ft. charger. The outlets in my house are awkward and someone always gets left out and needs a charger. It usually is me who needs a charger.

Jaquie! You forgot to mention boardgames and play of cards!! Would you really make it through a whole stay without a game of trouble?? For me, something easy to keep my mind and hands busy is key for longer admissions.

I'm sorry you're in the hospital but I'm glad you're being taken care of. ❤️UA-cam is a great distraction.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream is fabulous for stopping your lips from cracking. It comes as an ointment and also as a lipstick style. I buy mine from Amazon UK.
Jaquie, you get well soon darling and remember that we all love you very very much xxxxxxx
