Here is the Bob Marley song:
    There's a natural mystic
    Blowing through the air
If you listen carefully now you will hear
This could be the first trumpet
Might as well be the last
Many more will have to suffer
Many more will have to die
    Don't ask me why
Things are not the way they used to be
    I won't tell no lie
One and all got to face reality now
Though I try to find the answer
To all the questions they ask
    Though I know it's impossible
To go living through the past
    Don't tell no lie
    There's a natural mystic
    Blowing through the air
    Can't keep them down
If you listen carefully now you will hear
    Such a natural mystic
    Blowing through the air
This could be the first trumpet
Might as well be the last
Many more will have to suffer
Many more will have to die
    Don't ask me why
    There's a natural mystic
    Blowing through the air
    I won't tell no lie
If you listen carefully now, you will hear
    There's a natural mystic
    Blowing through the air
Such a natural mystic, blowing through the air
There's a natural mystic blowing through the air
Such a natural mystic, blowing through the air
Such a natural mystic, blowing through the air

What brought Nigeria to its current economic impasse is curruption, consequently, there can never be a viable solution to the crises if the current criminal structure is not dismantled, starting from this Balablue's government, the NNPC, the finance structure, etc.

You should had stated what Bob Marley stated in the lyrics emphatically, "MANY MORE WILL HAVE TO SUFFER, MANY MORE WILL HAVE TO DIE, DON'T ASK ME WHY?

The trillions of Naira - money supply is not in the pockets of the people of Nigeria. It's in the bank accounts and bunkers of the rich. When will orthodox economists understand that rich people do not cause food inflation .
Credit availability in Nigeria is less than 20% of the population, unemployment is high , much higher than official figures, minimum wage is still £15 Pounds Stirling. Where is the money.
There is no indices of demand pull inflation in respect of food inflation in Nigeria.
There is so much meat, rice , oil and tomatoes rich people can buy. Over supply of money in the pockets and bank accounts of the rich are spent in the stock markets, on luxury real estate , other luxury items and the rest converted into IMF reserved currencies which are kept in domiciliary accounts or transferred abroad
Food inflation is supply driven . It's inconceivable that senior economists like Mr Rewane no longer consider the impact of high energy costs and petrol on food supply and availability

This is more accurate. I don't think it's food shortage but the high cost of energy and the dollar hike. But the dollar hike impacts cost of energy and fuel.

Or indeed, the impact of bandit activity in the food producing belts of Nigeria. Last year, we were hearing stories of bandits levying farmers before they are allowed to farm; a typical mafiaso extortionist operation.

High cost of Fuel, (still on the increase). High cost of electricity (still projected to increase) . Fuel +electricity =energy, those two will drive cost upward very sharply within the coming months. Now just imagine adding insecurity to the above two, farmers are not safe to go to farms. Wild wild West. Tough days ahead, May God make it easy for us all.
To make it worse, this is US election year, the West are very much preoccupied, and War in Europe and middle East is in crisis. = No aid will come out way soon.

Energy is used to produce food one way or the other. Rice is de-stoned, parboiled and dried for example and all of these are energy. Then there is transportation of the food to where it would be consumed. All of these are energy (diesel, electricity and gas). The way I see it as long as the Government is unwilling to push energy prices downwards then I don't see when that Bob Marley song won't come true. All of these is before we add the banditry and extortions at the farms.
In Russia Putin doesn't want galloping inflation caused by high energy prices because of repairs to refineries so he's blocking exports temporarily.
Here what I see here is the Government wanting to be seen as doing something without doing the needful. If we make it to 2025 without entering hyperinflation we should go and do Thanksgiving. I don't see us getting out of the galloping inflation any time soon based on this 400 basis points increase.

Money supply is the leading narrative to the Nigerian economist. It's crazy as you said coz everyone incl the govt is forgetting subsidy removal. It's crazy and if they really feel it's the money supply, why aren't they taxing it out? To add to the misery, even the CBN gov is peddling that money supply narrative, we're fu**Ed! The ministry of finance man has somewhat gotten it but I now wait for govt to implement before I speak coz they've failed on so many of their promises. And even if fiscal comes in, I bet it they'll stop as soon as possible.
I always add that major economies borrowed from their central bank during covid, you had to. Then I say spending causes inflation not the money supply itself. Emefiele is the easy target for their actions.
This entire operation has been the classic shock doctrine. Atleast I'm alive and aware, as well as other Nigerians, to experience it coz I've read about it.
Finally, I hope they don't continue increasing the rates. The effects of this rate on inflation is negligent but it's effect on shifting income distribution to the rich is the main problem.😢
