We should appreciate 70s rock more. Given that this track is over 40 year's old, the drumming and overall song is honestly ahead of it's time. Colm did a phenomenal cover to this masterpiece of a song and nailed every single part without a doubt!
Decided to do this a classic a go today, lots of fun different sections in the song driven by the guitar riff. I have some more covers on the way of songs that have been suggested by people here. If you have a suggestion for a song leave it in the comments , I try my best if its viable to do the requests. I try to read as many of the comments as I can and the songs requested give me ideas for the videos. I have covers in the pipeline from the likes of Nirvana , RHCP and TCV that have been requested by people here. Please Like and Share the video , Cheers ,Colm
System of a down - Any song, i feel like their songs has some rly nice drumming. Maybe also something like 60-70 rock because that were the time with all greats like keith moon, bonham ans so on
I could see the satisfaction in your face when you finished, and the sweat on your forehead, you worked for this cover and you played it fucking well, you are really a good drummer and deserve a lot more attention. Well played m8
Colm Dowling what’s a “short” timeframe? I’m trying to learn it just now, but it’ll likely take me a few months if not years. Though that may be because I’ve only been playing the drums for 6 months 😜 Edit: love your videos, by the way. So much so, that I’ve shown them to my instructor. He likes them as well!
Yeah this is prog rock which is famous for complex playing. Still I'd say it definitely isn't as tough as songs from other prog bands like Rush or Dream Theater
LOw Key? Explain what "low key" means in this sentence of yours. Or, are you saying it because everyone else says it even though they don't know what they mean either. Is that what is happening? If not, I would love to hear what your definition is on this.
Nicely played. Your kit and especially the cymbals sound wonderful. You are definitely a strong rock drummer with a solid understanding of this song. I’m a jazz and show drummer. I did a cover of a few Kansas songs. I just don’t hit as hard as you do. I enjoyed checking this out! Thanks!
ESSA MÚSICA É INTEIRA LINDA, DIGNA DE ABERTURA DE UM GRANDE SHOW! PARABÉNS AO GRUPO KANSAS QUE À CRIOU E AO BATERISTA COVER QUE TEVE UMA GENUÍNA PERFORMANCE!👍🇧🇷😎🇧🇷👍
Good job, this is definitely a difficult song to play drums, so many different sections, but you did it well! I would love to see you play the new Foo Fighters song, Sunday Rain
Carry on my wayward son For there'll be peace when you are done Lay your weary head to rest Don't you cry no more Once I rose above the noise and confusion Just to get a glimpse beyond the illusion I was soaring ever higher, but I flew too high Though my eyes could see I still was a blind man Though my mind could think I still was a mad man I hear the voices when I'm dreamin', I can hear them say Carry on my wayward son For there'll be peace when you are done Lay your weary head to rest Don't you cry no more Masquerading as a man with a reason My charade is the event of the season And if I claim to be a wise man, it surely means that I don't know On a stormy sea of moving emotion Tossed about I'm like a ship on the ocean I set a course for winds of fortune, but I hear the voices say Carry on my wayward son For there'll be peace when you are done Lay your weary head to rest Don't you cry no more Carry on, you will always remember Carry on, nothing equals the splendor Now your life's no longer empty Surely heaven waits for you Carry on my wayward son For there'll be peace when you are done Lay your weary head to rest Don't you cry no more
Great cover! Your kit is pretty and I like their tone, sounds good. Haven't watched anything else you've done but I'd guess from your set up and the way you stick some of the fills you also dabble in some metal! Lol keep up the good work brother

@@juandanielmaldonado2001you’re not great at reading, are you?
Spot on, mate! No showing off, or unwritten triplets like so many others; just straightforward professionalism! ❤
Love the mix of A-custom and K Zildjians. Well played. Solid!
Thanks Steve.
I feel like this is one of the low-key hardest songs to play on the drums. I can never get that part where it slows down.
Probably because there are several pretty distinct patterns in the song played in different orders. Still very satisfying to play!
Yeah this is prog rock which is famous for complex playing. Still I'd say it definitely isn't as tough as songs from other prog bands like Rush or Dream Theater
Keep trying and with practice you will get it
Drums are the bomb man keep at it

@@MichaelGrubbEvolvedMinistry low-key means not well know, unspoken, or something that should be obvious to everyone but isn’t.
Awesome drumming on an awesome song!
Awesome cover man, great fills and timing well done
Cheers kyle

Carry on my wayward son
For there'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more
Once I rose above the noise and confusion
Just to get a glimpse beyond the illusion
I was soaring ever higher, but I flew too high
Though my eyes could see I still was a blind man
Though my mind could think I still was a mad man
I hear the voices when I'm dreamin', I can hear them say
Carry on my wayward son
For there'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more
Masquerading as a man with a reason
My charade is the event of the season
And if I claim to be a wise man, it surely means that I don't know
On a stormy sea of moving emotion
Tossed about I'm like a ship on the ocean
I set a course for winds of fortune, but I hear the voices say
Carry on my wayward son
For there'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more
Carry on, you will always remember
Carry on, nothing equals the splendor
Now your life's no longer empty
Surely heaven waits for you
Carry on my wayward son
For there'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more
Yes man! Classic!
