Thank you for doing a podcast that didn't focus only on discussions about what it was like for an actress to play a specific character or the "how did you feel in the moment when you got the role" questions. So great to see questions your audience related to and can see the real personality of the person interviewed and not the personality media makes them out to be. This was excellent.
Having Haley James Scott from “One Tree Hill” on the podcast is like a dream come true! It was so hard to say good-bye to her character when that long-running show ended because Haley was such a great role model regarding friendship, romance, motherhood, and artistic creativity. Honestly, I can’t imagine any other actor playing that affective role as memorably as Bethany Joy Lenz thanks to her acting and musical talents (can’t wait to hear her new country album!). She was, and still is, the quintessential girl-next-door. I am not surprised that she and Melissa became quick friends at Christmas con because their chemistry together, as well as their ability to joke with each other and empathize with each other’s struggles to have a life outside of work and family responsibilities, lights up a room. Bethany Joy and Amanda’s communal love of reading made for easy banter, and makes me think that Bethany Joy should join our hosts’ book club so that we can see her again on the show. My favourite moment of this episode was when Melissa and Bethany Joy (Melissa just called her “Joy”) commented that they had never been in a true crime film, and Amanda added, “Clearly I haven’t!” Bethany Joy also had a funny line when she proclaimed, “I am interested in talking with you about The ‘Menu’-What’s the point of that movie?” Finally, I can’t forget the things Melissa admitted to saying to Mark upon “re-entry” after coming off a movie set when she was short on patience. I feel a beautiful friendship blossoming between these three remarkable moms…
Great conversation, with two of my favourite actresses! I love all three of you, Melissa, Amanda and Bethany; Incredible women. I could listen to you talk all day.
It sounds like you might be an ambivert, Amanda from what you described but just a guess 🤷🏼♀️ also, I love Bethany Joy Lenz. She’s great! Very down to earth!!❤
