Puppers was not "patiently waiting" for any hug at all -- he just tolerated it like a champ!
The dog looks a little sad. Maybe she is comforting him🥲
Exactly, the dog licking its lips after the hug indicates discomfort and the dog's body language (not moving, leaning a bit backward, etc.) indicates mild apprehension. Nothing about the dog's body language indicate the dog is excited - no tail wag, no licking the child's face, no pressing toward the child, no dancing feet, no excited whine.
The parents (and person posting this) put children and dogs at risk by ignoring dog body language.
@@k9khodi363 Well said, exactly. The dog's body language, the lip licking, and no tail wag -- all were definitely signs of discomfort, as well as the other things you mentioned -- all on point.
He looks like he was being told to "sit, stay" for a not very safe photo op. These parents shouldn't have a dog.
@@dipaheadsince they have luggage and she was hugging him goodbye, I am assuming what is happening is the family is leaving… and the dog knows, and is sad. That’s why he’s sitting dejected in the corner like that ip against the wall. I know this because my dogs act the exact same way anytime I am leaving the house without them. They are sad to be left behind.
No tail wag and the smack of the lips shows he definitely wasn’t interested 😭🤣just a really good boy and dealt with it 😊
Absolutely True
Puppy said , bro you do too much ❤! !
What do you mean by the smack.
I still wouldn’t trust a giant dog with a baby.
Most pets do not like toddlers because they are so physical but the dog was super sweet to put up with it. Cats being smaller and more fragile often just run away the moment a toddler walks towards them
He did not want to be there 😂 look at his eyes. They never lie. He looks like the older brother forced to play with his little sibling ❤
Si verdad, y su sonrisa 😃 😂dios por favor sáquenlo, el pobre quiere irse 😅
So true!
Yep you nailed it 😂
@@SafiroLirajajaja claro Que si amigis. Ojala lo sacaron a jugar un buen rato despues de esto ❤😂
@@anahezeltine3347thank you for saying that. My girlfriend does say I know how to use my “hammer” 😊😏
He was dreading that hug, he's a giod boy who tolerated the embrace. Hahahaha
Cause dogs don't like to be hugged, doesn't do anything but make them annoying or nervous
@@Megara641😂😂😂
@@Megara641 Not all lmao, still remember this massive Cane Corso that loved giving hugs.
@@Cotac_Rastic That's just an exception. Dogs, in general, don't like or care for hugs. Petting them is the best option.
@@Megara641 Sounds like an opinion, sis. And it's not true. My pitty asks for hugs. I know of a few dogs who genuinely enjoyed being hugged and some who didn't. All dogs have a personality, likes and dislikes. Some will enjoy things others don't.
He endured it! Body language shows that! He is a good dog and stood his ground!
Maybe he isn't so expressive but loved it and wanted it. I'm like that.
@@naraendrareddy273 He definitely is being expressive. Look at the side-eye, lip licking, still tail, and leaning away from the hug. These are all dog language for "I don't like this/I am uncomfortable".
Lol that dog just wasn't in the mood, but played along lol
Not a puppy a full grown dog and video is not much to talk about
I don't think he was patiently waiting for the hug, he was patiently waiting for it to be over. Lol.
😅😅😅
When daddy said “ola” or whatever he said, puppy was like “brooooo don’t do that, you know how she gets” 😂😂😂🫶🏽
He Said: oh Lara, in portuguese. Whats mean: Look Lara(the girl's name, I.guess.
I thought I heard "hold on" with an accent but I do have one EarPod in instead of both 😂
"ó lá" redneck for "olha lá". meaning "look there". the girl was looking for the dog. Father pointed the direction
@@user-fw7fj3df5rdefinitely heard “hold on”
@@Falcoeirahe clearly said ‘Hold on’ in English.
Even though he looked like he didn't want to be there, kudos to the toddler for seemingly being quite gentle.
Yeah I get the impression the dog's tolerance is because the parents have taught the little kid well in the arts of gentle.
Goldens are so sweet. ❤
Yeaaa he wasn’t patiently waiting, he wasn’t even interested 😂 he jus dealt with it lol
He's like ok where's my treat now.
The owners were saying "look there, he is happy" like it was even remotely close to being the case 😂
He had no choice but to wait there and get an unexpected hug that he tolerated
They are the sweetest dog breed
That puppy is the most laid back GR for his age I have ever seen. Both baby and baby pup are terribly cute.
Omg, the sneer when he was hugged first is such a mood
He’s a good boy. He didn’t want it, but he knew it meant something to the toddler so he accepted it

The best comment here!
@@TT.4_ I agree. That pup loves the responsibility of being a big brother or sister.
@@richardcarter9107 your absolutely right, this is why I think Goldens are the best. From what I've always seen, they don't seem to ever hurt any babies or grown ups. They are also beautiful, gotta love em.

That's why it's a sexual assault. The boy should be in jail

Cutie pie, what a sweet little girl!
That dog has the most perfect nose!
It's like the dog didn't like hugs, but tolerated it because it knows that's how the toddler demonstrates affection. Dogs do that a lot actually.
Apparently they don’t like hugs cause it’s a demonstration of dominance, but I guess it differs from dog to dog
@@Justinee116
Getting petted on TOP of the dog's head is the ""biggest" show of dominance, by a human!
>> Cats, on the other hand, simply refuse to be dominated!
@@1JohnMillsIDK what world you’re living in, I’ve seen hundreds of cats and dogs that enjoy head petting. You guys read way too much into what behavior is appropriate for pets and what isn’t. Humans, dogs and cats have socialized and cohabitated for literally thousands of years, it really isn’t hard to tell when you’re making your pet uncomfortable.
@@MT-iw6slsorry but you’re wrong. Every single dog training book says to never pet a dog on the head, because they absolutely hate it and you risk getting bitten. Maybe try reading a book written by an actual expert.
@@ALT-vz3jn Petting a dog’s head for ear scratches, around the cheeks and down the neck is completely different from patting the top of their head. Dogs like head scratches, they DON’t like head pats. You’re trying to correct me when you don’t even understand what I wrote lol
It's interesting how we have different interpretations of things
Like what?
@@TheUKisThere because half of the comments seem to the dog is super happy the little kid is hanging from his neck and the the other half seem to think the dog is annoyed by the child. What would the dog say if he could answer
@@Rosiepoohtargaryen well at the very least, we know that dogs are excited when their tails are wagging. I haven’t seen the ones saying the dog enjoys it, though.
Aww how sweet!
I like how everyone in the comments can see how this beautiful golden retriever isn't "waiting patiently" for a toddler to give her/him a hug 🤗

Doggo is so patient with the kiddo! They knew their fate was to accept the affection of the pint sized people puppy and hung in there like a champ 💜
God bless you Babies

The best dogs to have with young children and them growing up together, they’re gentle as a cloud while tolerating their growing bond, and in a couple of years when both have matured that dog will be that child’s best protector with the fierceness of a lion❣️🤔
Nice sentiment, but it doesn’t always happen that way.
Fierceness of a lion idk about that.
@@ALT-vz3jnif you never owned one with kids you’d never know!
@@briananderson8982Really, then you just don’t know and have never owned one with kids!
Mine was sweet as a rabbit with everyone until a stranger came around and kids were outside.
Ask the electric company guy, the plumber, the trash collectors!
My dogs turned from baby rabbits to lions as soon as anyone’s toes crossed into the yard, and they figured out who were welcome and who weren’t unless invited!
Never underestimate any breed of pet dog you have, no matter how passive, dumb or stupid you think they are, when their instincts kick in that’s when everyone needs to be cautious!

They care more about themselves than about their pet...
@@MessagesFromAurorayes! I’m the one who took the time to read dog training books and learn, and constantly correcting my husband about how to interpret dog body language. They have a very rich repertoire of gestures, expressions and stances to communicate how they feel, but you have to put in the effort to learn them. Most people think the dog will just adapt to them, it must be so frustrating for the animal…

That dog is more emotionally intelligent and mature than a lot of people I know
People, be careful, watch the dog's signs, and when the baby is older, teach him/her how to respect boundaries. Respect must be mutual and they will be inseparable.
The dog did not like that if you undetstand anything about dog body language you would know
Adorable friendship
Seems to be a 'tsundere' doggo... Don't like hugs and all... But loves her li'l sister with all his heart so much that he allows it and tolerate s.❤❤❤
Im not even a dog owner and i know this - so how come so mang dog owners and people in this comments section are completely ignorant?
Because the dog licking its lips like that and giving side eye is crystal clear discomfort/distress.
And the reason for that is that fogs - all dogs - absolutely hate having a face pressed alongside side theirs. In the natural world that's an extremely aggressive behaviour towards them.
The toddler doesn't know obviously but please please pet your dog properly and don't jam your head against the side of their's because they absolutely hate it.
The fact that particularly placid breeds tolerate it and more high strung/ aggressive breeds very occasionally snap and your kid is minus a face and the dog ends up getting put down is 100 percent on the owners.
There's a million books by behavioural scientists so if you're a dog owner at least glance at one.
@willsmith39. You are most obviously not a dog expert. Just like a human being, dogs have their own personalities. The dog wasn’t uncomfortable with the toddler’s hugs 🙄. It’s WAY more likely he appeared sad and defeated because he saw the luggage and realized he wasn’t going. For the record, my dogs and cats come up to me daily, lower their heads and rest their snouts down against either my cheeks, neck, forehead, eyes, shoulders etc. That means they want some loving . And so they get it. They have taught their toddler well. She couldn’t have been more gentle. The poor pup does indeed look sad and defeated, but it wasn’t because of the toddler.
@@cindylewwho I didn't say I was a "dog expert" but I've read articles by behavioural scientists and seen videos by actual well regarded "dog experts" on UA-cam who explained why the side head mash move is distressing for them and how they signal it with their eye movements and rapid lip licking.
If they're all wrong and so I'm wrong and the dog in this video - and a hundred others just like it - is absolutely loving it then I guess the dogs I interact with and pet differently are missing out. But I'm sure they'll be ok
But what if you're wrong? I mean it's obvious from the tone of your response that hasn't occurred to you because you're one of those never wrong about anything people.
But what if you are? Maybe Google it and take a look?
I know you won't. It's more important to win the argument.
Anyway, have a good Xmas!
