My grandmas, born in 1905, NEVER wore pants and YES, she vacuumed in house dresses and heels 🥰 She did not own any flats, all her shoes and winter boots all had heels. So yes, vacuum in a dress ! Let me add, I wasn't born until the 70's and this was the grandma I knew threw 70's thru 90's and at 1 month shy of her 99th birthday, she still never wore pants or flats. BUT I did get her to get cable tv 😀
Wasn't it so wonderful when everyone dressed UP, all the time! Men wore "overcoats"! Women wore gloves and hats. NYC where I grew up in the 50's and 60's. I really miss the good old days 😪 And even in NYC, there were NO homeless! Now I love the South.
Yes, that is true of the older generations. However, in 1905 and beyond until the probably the 70s pants were only for young children playing outside. There really was no choice. Women can still wear only dresses today if they choose. The wonderful thing is The Choice.

I’m 73 & my daughter still talks about how I always cleaned house in dresses & jewelry everyday. I loved it. Big house started cleaning on Monday & ended on Friday. I still dress up but haven’t had a dress on in a long time for last 10 years but still dressed up & ready to go or receive visitors. Just made me feel good & happy!

love these tips...I love a monochromatic look too. I love doing navy blue since I love jeans...always a silk blue top with good jeans...and when I first got married almost 20 years ago my Hubby always complemented me whenever I wore white...hence I always buy something new and fresh in white for the spring and summertime and he still complements on them. 🥰🥰🥰

You won’t believe this but I actually had a very deep PURPLE SILK SUIT that I wore on New Years Eve in 1992 that I LOVED! I got more compliments on that suit than anything I’ve worn to this day! I had just turned 21 in October of that year and it was the first time I’d celebrated a NYE in a club. I felt like a celebrity!!💜💜💜💜

Another beautiful vlog Lisa 🌹 When I was young, my mother always used to say, when wearing pants/trousers dress in 3’s it with a dress dress in 2. Having a blazer, vest, cardigan etc finishes an outfit. Lisa you style outfits beautifully and we have the exact same formula. I also do not mind being the overdressed one🌹 And yes, vacuum in a dress. Wash dishes in a dress. I have been wearing dresses lately. They are so comfortable for me🌹 I always want to dress for my husband. He will ask me if we are just running around “ why are you dressed up” and I always tell him, “only for you Honey” I LOVE IT🌹

Due to health issues I can no longer wear heels or boots. Oh well, I did for a lot of years and I really would not wear them now anyway. Have a wonderful day!
I feel like I'm just coming back to find my own style. High school style was pretty easy as was being stylish in my 20's and 30's. 40 wasn't bad until the end. What to wear?? Who am I now? What happened to this body? 😂I'm going to step out in faith and start wearing some of the things I don't know if I should only due to lack of practice. They don't look bad! I just lost my boldness for a while. I have a husband who adores me so I'm also taking to heart your advice of simply dressing for him in what feels good to me. So what if I'm overdressed! ❤🎉

As an addition to #1 I would say denim “bottoms” rather than just jeans. I use jeans, denim skirt and denim shorts interchangeably.

Friends went on the cruise and we stayed in the sun and got nice in town all day while our husbands were fishing and at night, I had a Jcrew hot pink blazer and slacks with hot pink pumps and big, chunky gold jewelry and I got compliments from the elevator on and I felt amazing.
