- The bolts in Vasa are rusting which weakens the ship. In order to stop the threat we are replacing over 5000 bolts, a time-consuming and not always easy job. The bolt change is a collaboration with Sandvik Materials Technology. For English subtitles, press "CC" and choose "English".

Surprises me they added steel vs wrought iron or stainless or even bronze back in 1960’s
Glad i found this incredible channel.. I'm Amazed.. Regards from the far but gentle Uruguay.
Greetings to Uruguay 🇺🇾 😀
Expensive bolts no doubt
Vi var bra på järn då och vi är bra på stål nu.
Always trust Sandvik !
Iron rot is a well known issue, I am surprised they regular bolts in the first place.
Should have used Stainless steel bolts
Rust wasn't necessarily the only reason to replace the bolts
The wood on the ship gets damaged by different chemical reactions that were caused by the older steel bolts
How tehy made screws???
A time long ago???
The old screws/bolts are from the 60's when they took the ship out of the water.
