Hey Travis, @ 17:25 that big hunk of car exhaust is a catalytic converter (!!contains precious metal!!)...probly worth $30+. ....used to be worth 60-80 when I was around the scrap business, but I'm in mich..call your local scrap yard for a current $...go back for it lol.

With as many bullets as you find back there I would invest in a hunter orange safety vest so if anyone come back to shoot they can see you, Or a long sleeve Orange shirt that would also help with the skeeters.

Not a bad idea!! It was at a local park, I didn't think there would be any shooting going on but I guess you just never know! Better SAFE than sorry thats for sure

I am not exactly loving my vanquish 540.
My detector before the vanquish was a gamble because of budget and bought a TX 960 with a massive coil but a brilliant detector for the price.
The vanquish I thought would be an upgrade but the discrimination just seems awful. Even on coin mode it has me digging deeper iron and as soon as I take it out and run it over the iron it decides it will discriminate.
It's brilliant for finding tiny targets and I am certainly finding things I would have missed with the TX but Holy crap it has me digging a lot of targets that I wouldn't normally be digging.
    Great video. 👍

The Vanquish is a relic magnet from videos I`ve seen. It depends on where you use it I guess. I got one to hunt deep silver coins. I started detecting in the 1970s so the Vanquish detector is like a miracle to me. But I just got it and haven`t had time to break it in. I need exercise and from what you`re saying I`ll soon be getting it. LOL!

Hi Austin nice hunt , relaxing in nature , owls saying Hi and in the middle of a forest you still found some coins! I bet if you get on an old plantation and try around a fallen down Mansion you will hit old silver coins and maybe even some gold, is there an old map online showing where they are?

Not bad on the clad considering the spot you hit. The 440 seems to have just the right amount of tech to get the job done.. Good hunt Man..

440 is sweet, it would be cool to put the vanquish head to head with the nox depth wise and see how much depth is actually lost with the vanquish. Probably not very much!! Thanks Dan 👍

    Hey bud,
I always love when you use the Vanquish but to be fair I only have a vanquish so I might be a little biased on that 😂.
I’m not sure if it’s cause I’m from Canada but I’m always amazed at all the bullets you find, whether it’s on a trail, forest or kids tot lot. I’m just not use to it.
    Anyway great hunt today
It’s not always about what you find but more about the hunt and wondering what you might find.
    Cheers my friend

I agree with you bugs! It's felt nice going away from the normal a little bit expanding the locations, may not be produce tons of coins or jewelry but like you said it's kind of about the mystery of what could be out there.. Definitely like our bullets here in 'MERICA 🤣 Thanks BUGS 🙏 Vanquish is always a strong little performer c:

Every bullet casing is a small piece of brass, actually some are steel and also some are aluminum. But they all recycle, maybe not the steel, but you need to keep them seperate from other scrap as they have to be sure the primer has been fired. The primer is the center of centerfire bullets, 22s don't have primers as they are rimfire bullets, just a small bit of bullet info for you. I think you could recycle the bullets also, I melt the lead down and trash the metal jackets after melting the lead and I make fishing sinkers out of the lead it adds up quick I have about 10 pounds in bars right now. the crimped bullet was a blank, it is full of gunpowder but no bullet tip.

    • @TreasureOutdoors
      @TreasureOutdoors  3 роки тому +1

Always good information, Steve! I have a little container I have most of my bullets and casings in, I keep most of them out of the trash as long as I remember to separate them out! Great idea to recycle the lead into sinkers!

Thanks man, I have been trying to get on a decent spot... hasn't quite happened yet but I enjoy the odd spots just never know what could be hiding out there. I pulled some old maps but the oldest photo I could see was from the 50s, definitely little bit of activity going on around there but not a crazy amount.. but never know what could have been there before those photos. I try to keep optimistic 🙏 Thanks Harbour!

@@TreasureOutdoors old maps help a lot for sure, finding housing development is a good place too, if you can get in before they rebuild, they don't usually mind you digging when they are going to just plow the place. Never know where someone dropped and lost something.
