I can’t believe I’ve never noticed that all their videos are in black and white. It works so perfectly with the juxtaposition of their voices.

So she realized they were taking off and THEN wanted to work with him
First off, Peter was drunk off his ass and looked too young to be in a bar, which are both massive turn-offs when it comes to working with someone.
Secondly, July Talk didn't exist until Leah and Peter formed it, so I'm not sure where this "they were taking off" conspiracy theory comes from.
She talks like a baby. That is also a turn off. You would think someone talking like a baby would realize not everyone is the age they appear. They were taking off. They were getting traction and she jumped on board. They had interest so she was like oh dang okay yeah I'll do it then. Plus you can totally tell she thinks she is so much older, wiser, and seasoned than him... Total turn off.
He said he was drunk and no very presentable. 2 good reasons not to give him her number.
She said she found out he was serious. There's a difference between someone asking for you number in a bar and someone asking you to join or create a band.
@@Steven-wm9vu errr, you can see it on her face she thought he was unique & gorgeous. I love the contrast between their voices. It's never a good idea to give a guy your number if he's drunk off his ass. Imagine a girl approached you that way, how would know if they're going to respect you, they might just be hitting on anyone in the vicinity & being opportunistic. I think this band has such a sweet origin story.

Your overexaggerating, he was drunk and she presumed him underage which is a completely valid perception based on his behavior. Also he was singing at bars, there wasn't any "bandwagon to ride" just the one they made on the way.
