I recently got a sudden interest into baseball and was having a little trouble understanding what all the statistics meant. After binge watching your channel, I can now say I’m a new fan and can’t wait for the new season to begin. Thank you so much for this series. Hope all is well. Stay safe👍
I'm from France and I just took an interest into baseball, feels like it's extremely complicated when you have nobody to explain you the game live but your videos are helpful.
Holy crap. This has been the most informative video on baseball statistics. Thank you so much! I've always known the basic rules but when it came to averages and stuff I was totally lost. Looking forward to binging the rest of your series!
Hey guys! Hope everyone enjoys today's video. You'll definitely see things trend upwards quality wise, as these first two videos were filmed back to back after midnight one evening. Hope you still like this week's videos and keep coming back for more!
I never got into sports but I want to get into baseball now because my grandma and my great grandfather bonded over it and I have a spontaneous passion for it too. I legit no nothing about it but I found your channel and it's helping me a lot. Thanks so much keep it up!!!
wow so much to remember lol. iam from england and love watching baseball on tv, but i dont allways understand whats going on, so this helps thank you. i went to boston on holiday 3 years ago and did the fenway park stadium tour , loved it,one day i hope to see the red sox live.
Thank you so much. Your videos have been very helpful. My son’s baseball team needs parents to keep score and for someone like me who never paid much attention to baseball, it really helps to know the basics.
Thank you so much for this series! Really helping me and my son understand in detail what exactly is going on when he plays both on his console and on the field! Excellent series!!! Subbed and watching and learning =)
Glad to have found your channel. As an international fan of baseball it’s so helpful to have the terminology and rules explained in such a clear and comprehensive way! Definitely going to enhance my enjoyment of America’s Pastime! :-)
Hi miss Ashley! I know that runs and RBIs aren't pretty good indicators of a batter's ability. However, I'd like to ask why looking at RBIs are generally better than looking at runs when runs show that batters have been able to put themselves in scoring position as opposed to RBIs which, according to my friend, just pretty much indicates how good of a batter your teammate before you is.
Very interesting, had no idea about about a PA vs an AB. I don’t recall seeing a PA in a box score. Would that be on the bottom? Hmmm, I’m not sure about the run vs rbi stat being indicative about either players skill level. If a player gets on base a lot, however which way he does, means he’s good at getting on base. He cannot control what the batter does behind him. Regardless of what the player does behind him? How can you say the batter who gets on base isn’t as important or skilled as the player who drives in the run? Doesn’t the player on base have to exhibit good base running skills to get home? If the runner is on second and scores on a single? If a player gets on base a lot, doesn’t that show that he IS very good? Regardless of wether or not he crosses the plate. Having said that, thank you for your video and I look forward to your insight as a baseball analyst and statistician.
PA are usually listed primarily in stat sites like Baseball Reference and FanGraphs, so not something you'll see used a lot in standard box scores. And yes, you're correct, getting on base is definitely a good thing (which I sort of poked fun at myself for in the video) I think what I meant to imply is that RBIs have more value when you're referring to a player's individual production for the team. Typically when articles refer to a player's production they'll mention RBIs but not Runs, and I think that's more what I was trying to get across. Great comments!
Not all girl are dumb especially who dont look sexy they have to compensate for their beauty by doing something creative outside the box no disrespect to anyone but this is harsh reality
