    That's so weird. I bought the Recently Deinfluenced palette last year and it was my go-to palette for all of fall and well into winter, and I'm still grabbing it occasionally. I can't say enough good things about it. I have the jewel palette, too, and while I like that one less it's more because I tend not to wear rainbow palettes on the daily as much, but there are definitely some gorgeous shades in it. This is the first review of this one that I've seen, so I'll have to do more research because the shades are right up my alley (though I tend to agree with you about the matte white being meh--I can see why it's in the color story but I have plenty in other palettes already).

    I wonder if I could help. I formulate myself. I have my own indie brand launching and I can take a look at the ingredients and if you don’t mind, will you also find a palette of similar type of indie shades that has Multichromes, shimmers and mattes that DOES NOT cause irritation. I am wondering if there’s ingredients not listed on their labels and what I can find about the formulation. Bc there’s another issue, if I’m the process of creating the shades, if not done right it may create a dif chemical, similar but enough of a change to cause problems. There’s multiple chemical reactions in making eyeshadows and each step must be done correctly to make a final product that is as desired. Even so much as the ph being off or not acidic enough for a part of the process can make a dif chemical all together. Please let me know
    I’m pretty damn sure I know what manufacturers they are using. I make my own products but I have to buy the actual components. In the process of finding the best of the best pigments and ingredients (took forever to find ingredients that are ethical and renewable able to trace the source)and in the process I’ve found labs selling these exact shades and type for pricing that I have no idea how they do it. They must be using the cheapest pigments and a lot of fillers. There’s also a lot of shady things about these particular labs and manufacturers that I found scary. They didn’t want to answer the ingredients and the type of process. So I wonder about the actual listing of ingredients
    I was also warned by my supplier anyway about particular labs and how to spot them. She’s a
    Chinese woman who says she doesn’t trust them. She only sells the ingredients not the shades so I know she’s not their competitor which is credible (all micas and specialty micas are processed in China. Even when it’s mined other places. They have the manufacturing down to a science and it’s pressurized to make multichromes etc. so I just wanted to explain that China is not a bad thing, in fact even sellers in the US just buy from the Chinese distributors and say it’s American. Any shades are third party don’t be fooled. China is not the issue, the shady factories that are there are. They make the bad name for everyone there)

    I was looking at their Secret Garden palette, but it's too big for my tastes. Good to know about their matte formulas being weak because I'm picky about mattes. I like a lot of pigementation, like how the Melt mattes are super saturated.

      @mallorykreiger 7 місяців тому

      @@LaurenWithTheLaurelCrown that sounds like it may be Angie since she’s also Swedish and receives all PR/multiple collabs over the years & had a recent single shade named after her?
      I will say that in my experience buying indie products (I didn’t start until fall of last year), it feels like some of the recipients of PR are afraid to share criticism at all in fear of losing the opportunity to receive the items? I say that because I have bought items that were highly praised and was SO disappointed with them once I received the orders. Some of the swatches are so doctored up and literally require 7-8 passes to achieve the opaqueness that otherwise wouldn’t have been possible in a single pass.
      I personally haven’t had an issue with the Oden’s Eye palettes other than the most recent one I purchased (Judy’s collab-barely showing up on my skin) but I have received dried out lippies from them. The two Adept palettes I purchased are so difficult to blend, and the mattes have next to no pigment on the eyes. I also don’t watch Mikayla. She’s a fraud and has no credibility. She’s the worst of anyone on here imo and this assertion goes well beyond the mascara fiasco.
      Are there other brands or similar experiences you’ve had as well Lauren? It’s disappointing when you not only were so excited to receive items that turned out to be poor quality, but the fact that we use our hard-earned money on non-refundable goods.. we did our due diligence ahead of time and feels like we got played? Yanno?

I'm so sorry about your experience with it, but I think it is fascinating when brands just don't work well for people. I have gotten eye irritation from Dedes Signature palettes. I have some fantastic Oden's Eye palettes--I love Hela and Christmas Eve--but some formulas in some palettes are strangely dry and glitter-powdery. I want to say one of the shades in Christmas Eve may have been that way (a silver?), but the rest of the shades were fantastic enough that I didn't worry too much about it. As far as singles from them, I HIGHLY recommend Leon--it's the most stunning true red that's ever graced my eyes.

      @@awkwardartteacher7385 thanks for the advice! Unfortunately Christmas eve was one of the biggest offenders. I did order all 4 Christmas palettes at the same time so it was not from the original release but 3 out of 4 went straight into the bad bin after initial try. Never tried hela and only had 2 singles from a mystery box.

The one shade (AFTER-LIFE) was pretty and *unique* but honestly Heather it's not $70-pretty, you know ?! I heard the disappointment in your voice and I felt so bad bcz eye shadows are one of the very few hobbies that we both REALLY REALLY look forward to & that make us smile ... *literally from ear to ear* , u know? And then, to have it be such a BUST would make me furious and tbh Heather, I would 1000% support you if you contacted the brand and demanded your money back. I mean it's not just the money (altho that can be a deal breaker too) and the time you waited (10 WEEKS!!! omg!!!) and all the disappointment & frustration. It's the fact that you now have a palette full of EYE IRRITANTS. I really hope they refund your cash bcz a refund is THE VERY LEAST that they could do.
