this is awesome, my friend is really big into this game and is a honey player and he showed me an online tournament he participated in and it looked like a lot of fun. he even gave me an idea of the tier placement and this video makes me want to give this game a shot even if i’m dog water at fighting games
This is so useful!! I’ve been casually playing on Gems, and later 360 when I realized how flawed the Gems port is. I learned a lot from this, and hope to play online one day. I’m hoping to find good character guides at some point-I really love how Any/Fang feel.
The discord server has a lot of good character-specific advice and writing. I only play a few characters and I'm not sure if I play any of them quite how you're "supposed" to! With Amy at least, the main hook of her gameplay is to knock people down and then use heads up to try to keep them in knockdown. Most of her moves are either slower than other characters' or the same as other characters', so she tries to get the most out of every opening.
The fighting game community is so funny and awesome. They’ll grab a random game that was probably just used to cash in on the fighting game craze and say “This is literally the most amazing and complex fighting game” and be RIGHT. Have I mentioned how much I love the FG community

yeah thats how matt beach talked about it, he was like "its kind of like a yun genei jin". i dont think its really as busted as genei jin because the damage reduction and that it doesnt give your moves higher priority like genei jin, but its also something u can do up to like 5 times a game without needing to build any meter so its pretty strong.
I think the magic of this game and others like it is that you’re not necessarily supposed to remember the combos sometimes and they are purely for the rewarding the player for doing good
i put text on screen briefly but basically, its what it sounds like, its just really overtuned in this game so your damage is always going to be different based on the health of you and your opponent, with attacks doing more damage when you're at low health and less when you're at high health.
