Excellent side-by-side config comparisons between the Cisco and Aruba switches. Your hands-on example scenarios and CLI narration almost felt like I was watching a sport caster breaking down the techniques between to NFL quarter backs. You nicely summarized the fundamental configurations between these competitors. From what you shown, Aruba's OS appears more streamlined. Thank you and stay healthy!
True, I have enjoyed Aruba OS right after I got through trunk vs trk difference. Context sensitive help, you know the " ? " After a partial command to see what possibly goes after , that is still better in Cisco, at least to me. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks for you nice comment. Keep learning....
Hi, Thank you for coming back. I found two commands that do the same thing as term mon. debug destination session debug event then to stop the output to the console use no debug all
Awesome. This is the first time I have someone interacted back. I thank you Graham. If you are learning Aruba, you might realize they are slowly moving towards Aos-cx platform. Let me know what you think about them.
Hi there firstly great video it was very informative.I have a question could you please tell me how I can set this up so I can learn as we have lots of Aruba switches in my work place and will very soon be working with the switches and configuring them . Thank you for your time .
Thank you so much... This is exactly my task this weekend. We have a PO with Aruba sw6200f stack. I'm trying to convert our Cisco switch configure to Aruba to see if Aruba is a viable alternative. This was very helpful. Do you have any videos on QOS on Aruba?
Thank you so much for your review. What QoS configuration are you looking for ? Usually if you are not overwriting the QoS markings, trusting dscp and cos does the job at switching level.
Hi, do you know the command for term mon in Aruba? I use it all the time on my Cisco switches. it would be great to find this command for Aruba switches. The debug does not seem to work the same. Kind regards
No Graham. there is not one exactly like that. You can log all (level=info) msg and display them in reverse order to view them. "Aruba(config)#logging severity info" and then "show logg -r" -This will show you all logs in reverse (newest first). Hope this help.
Master, what is the difference between a tagged port and trk1 port?, in one of them my simple link between two switches works (tagged) but with trk1 trunks not. with tagged option, show trunks not showing the tagged trunk. Really I dont understand.
Tagged ports are trunk ports in Cisco term, where you carry multiple vlans. Trk is equivalent to Cisco Port-Channel. Trk is where you bond bunch of cables to connect 2 devices for redundancy and higher throughput. Now one trk could also be tagged port just like a Port-Channel could be trunk. Hope this helps.

Could you explain in more details about Eavesdrop Prevention. You mentioned to disable it on untagged ports, but what happen if you don't disable it? Thanks in advance and great info.
Devices like printers are not talkative, so their Mac times out while arp entries remain on L3 interface. New packet destined for that printer from that vlan or a different vlan will use arp to identify the switch where that printer was connected. It will be a unicast and directly sent to the switch. Switch won't have that Mac on it's cam table and for security it will drop it. Unknown Mac broadcast it would've forwarded out all its port but unknown unicast is blocked by default. Let me know if it makes sense
@@TwT101 So disable Eavesdrop Prevention on ports that are connected to printers, but okay to leave it enabled on ports connected to computers? What about ports that are configured for STATIC and LIMITED-CONTINUOUS, what 's the best practice?

Hello can you please explain me what ,,no untagged’’ means on aruba switch? Does it disable a port?
Definitely needed this for learning networking in my spare time
Thank folk, well comparison between the most common brands
this is a great comparison but one thing i cant figure out with aruba is how to enable the port. no shutdown isnt doing anything?
