One Minute Bunkai: Naihanchi Sandan #2

- One Minute Bunkai: This is one of the most effective techniques against a mid level kick. It is often thought of as two separate blocks, in this case it is a "sukui" scoop, and then catching the foot and turning it in the unnatural direction which will take the man down quickly. You have the option of breaking the ankle (if the situation calls for it). Later in the video you will see "bonus" techniques, like kicks before and after the takedown. Of course you may not need much of anything else if that ankle tears. Be VERY CAREFUL this technique is dangerous.

Best Karate channel on YT IMHO. Great videos. Thank you for uploading.
I must say thank you for sharing your knowledge on kata. I am very impressed with what you share.
Glad to hear they are giving you inspiration. I'll keep making them you keep using them!
Man.. I just love your videos.. I apply these to our kata at my studio.. keep kicking guys!
Маэстро, браво!
Fantastic video! Keep them coming!
Hola! Excelentes videos y técnicas! Gracias por compartirlo! Saludos desde Argentina, La Plata.🥋
The Kata will tell you what to do, but it may not be in plain sight.
Sometimes you need Kata gogles.
Nice application, thanks for sharing.
Simple, direct, powerful. This is true karate.
Great bunkai!
Thank you and pass it on!
Awesome! Follow the kata.
Great! Thx
Inspiring as always, thank you sensei, frm shitoryu
Good.
Excelentes bunkais Sensei!!! Maravillosamente explicados. Felicitaciones!!!. Podría completar el de naihanchi sandan si es posible. Solo vi dos partes. Muchas gracias. Saludos desde Argentina.
Gracias Daniel. Tratare de hacer el Naihanchi Sandan.
Yes here we are scooping and not getting in its way, but there is nothing wrong with blunt force on your forearm against a kick. Very effective.
I like it. The arm is not taking the blunt force if the leg and your just allowing it to penetrate without you being in the way. :-)
i'm from wado ryu we only do one naihanchi and it is shodan
well.. it is not exactly the same like kata.. I think even it's fin di(changing hand), we still using the emphasize of the kata..
but there is no wrong bunkai, just depend on the purpose and the experience..
Great Mae geri from Bob saw the spittle expel from your mouth in slo mo ;)
And this is why I don't kick above the waist. I've caught so many kicks while sparring it's hilarious
Its all part of the "act" NOT- he caught me pretty good (as he always does)
That looks so painful. I guess that also shows how throwing high kicks can be a really bad idea.
when explaining a bunkai, or you know the original and correct version well, or it is better to avoid. the bunkai contains a series of elements that emerge when it is used. if the bunkai is not well explained those elements do not emerge and cannot be transmitted. therefore pay attention to those who say they know kata.
Kicking above the thigh has a high price. In real self defense/fighting high kicks are not advisable.
Osu. Enoch. KYOKUSHIN. Germany. After much training it is effective.
Hi. But see a lot of effective high kicks on MMA and other scenarios which seem to be very effective? I myself have not been taught in my style to use them much.
Depends how flexible one is
Si
Errr... Wow... *deeeeeeepbow*
А хидари тоби-маваши-гери по затылку?
against high kick not sure, just for fun maybe.. interesting
Yes not against a high kick (thus it was not show against one). High kicks are even easier to block and catch.
You are right not against a high kick, there are other fun things to do against anyone silly enough to do high kicks in the street.
En una patada hacer eso ummm y más todo lo que tenes que hacer 😏
Nice application, thanks for sharing.
