Pels fan here. You guys got a really good defender in dyson. He doesnt score well but he will be a solid bench piece. Nance is a stat hog. He will put in work. And is best in spurts. Solid bench piece. Ej lidell is a hard worker. He has been injured and hasnt played a bunch but he was real good at ohio state. The draft pics wont matter. And the center is a guy the hawks will cut.
@@jbhillz87no, the Sacramento pick is top 10 protected. So you want Sacramento to make the playoffs, or finish with the 7th seed, and lose in the play-in, so they'd probably pick 12 or 13th, if odds hold true. The Lakers pick is unprotected, so you want them to be as bad as possible.
Happy for DJ. I'm sure he won't miss losing either. Glad he's going to a team that will be relevant and wins as opposed to this team which with Trae exists for entertainment purposes only
I'm thinking our center rotation is gonna be Okongwu or Capela, Nance (expiring contract), Cody Zeller(option to get out of contract next season if things can be improved). 2 veteran centers isn't bad but our 3 headed dragon Okongwu, Capela, Nance will have to be sorted obviously. We're not gonna have 5 centers on our bench lmao. Bruno is legit and a lovable 3rd, but I don't see him able to stick now. Zeller also provides alot of experience in starting and backup incase we have injury issues it gives us insurance for a fairly low price that we can plug him in and not drop off as much as trying to start Bruno. I hope we keep Big O. I think this will be his best season in the league thus far whereas Capela's best days are behind him and he's mainly gonna be able to help a team that needs veteran stability at the center position. I see us again as a promising young team possibly if we can get out from under Hunter and Capela for not even necessarily "now" players but even for a couple 1st rnd picks in next couple seasons. I still think we should try hitting up Detroit on Hunter for Fornier maybe throw a couple other players in and a 1st rnd pick of theirs. They have in recent history, picked high, and the team along with it's fan base has to be tired of tanking. It seems Detroit is trying to improve and we'd be taking a dead space player off their hands for them to have a solid chance at making play-in territory while their past lottery picks have time to develop in a new system this year.
This is actually another issue Landry has created... now teams are gonna see we're "stuck" with 4 contracted centers and gonna take advantage of us if we try to trade one... why don't we think past what's in front of our face? Thinking "around corners" is kinda crucial in a sports league. We better already have something cooking on the "back burner". History says we don't though, we're gonna have Hunter and Capela at season start from what it's looking like which would be a total insult to us die hard fans at this point who know where we're sinking money and unable to really use. We gotta start planning and stop "flying by the seat of our pants"! This FO is like Dori from "Finding Nemo"!!! If we had a plan in place, we'd have executed it before the brink of summer league! I think we sit in front of phones too much hoping they'll ring and not on them calling around!
We should wait and see how JJ does this year. Maybe do something midseason based on how much he's growing into a reliable foundational piece of our team. Don't jump the gun and get us stuck financially this early, if we're wanting some flexibility, we'd be dumb to not get a better idea of what we've got and if it's durable enough or not. Waiting frees us up on money next season as well with Nance expiring and possibly getting outta Zeller's contract. I also don't think we should be keeping Bey. He's not gonna be usable in a sign and trade nor is he gonna be of use this coming season. Unless we give him a lesser contract and he accepts, tying up more cap on someone unplayable for atleast another season would be counterproductive given we need every small advantage we can get to swing back up the standings again.
@@ajevans1422- A WICKED TRICK. NONE OF THEM CAN PLAY. ZERO TALENT. OUR BEST IS CAPELA @ 6'10. STILL. FALSE FLAG. THEY FELL FOR THE BANANA 🍌 IN THE TAILPIPE. ONLY 1 CENTER. I agree, no way I'd give Franz a max now. If you want an extension, and safety of guaranteed money, you take less than a max extension. The Quickley contract is a good offer. 5 years at 35 million per. If not, I'd go into restricted free agency. How many teams have real cap space next year. And you can simply match any offer. And no one simply signs the qualifying offer instead of taking a long term contract. It's never happened. So you lose nothing letting the player reach restricted free agency if they want a max extension. Also, with Franz, if he shoots bad from 3 again, his market and price shrink. I'm totally with Brad on this, unless it's a generational talent like Wemby, or LeBron, there's no reason to offer a max extension. At least Barnes could say he made an all-star team. Alright back to the Hawks roster being bad as they're currently not going to be good, but they have no reason to be bad because they don't have their picks and are just helping the Spurs. Dyson, and Nance are both bench players. And Bogi and Trae would maybe be the worst defensive backcourt in the league, if Bogi stsrted. They don't have any backup on ball creation, lack shooting, haven't resigned Vit, have 5 centers on the roster now, and have wasted opportunities to get rid of Clint when teams were looking for starting centers, as Clint is on a wonderful expiring deal.
you have valid points sir. We gotta get Hunter/Capela moved for some future capital if nothing else. I don't see Bruno sticking now. Our FO I feel is "make or break" this season. If they don't perform better than the last couple seasons, I'll be lighting my torch and sharpening my pitchfork as well. Landry and Ressler can't seemingly find their own asses with both hands. We are gonna be slow outta the gates this season with our current roster.
This team is going nowhere. Just rebuild this team at this point. Not good enough to compete with the top teams in the league, not bad enough to warrant going with the tank route.

The Lakers pick is actually looking pretty good in a loaded draft
Ingram killed his own market when he said he wanted 52mil per, his options dried up instantly, lol.
Dyson is an All NBA talent on defense. Just need a spot to grow and have consistency in the rotation.
Just saw the derozan sign and trade. Actually good for the hawks. Makes the kings better and the Lakers stay the same(they had interest)
Don't the hawks get a first from Sacramento this year wouldn't the goal be for the Lakers and kings to be bad teams this year?
