I know I'm getting kind of off-topic here, but one of the reasons many people (not every case) find it hard to leave an addiction it's because they don't see a purpose in their life or something worth fighting for. And that's too one of the main reasons for depression and existencial crisis. So I agree with what Leo says here.

Even if I eat very healthy, get a lot of exercise, get into a nice sleeping pattern and try to remain positive.. When I feel like my life is meaningless and i'm not going anywhere interesting or exiting.. I have low energy levels and I feel no motivation! This video really gives a nice perspective on what is necessary to feel energetic in your life, mentally. Yes there are many important physical components that will indeed help but mentally and emotionally it makes sense that if we feel like life is interesting, challenging and we enjoy what we do - that we will feel energized. If our lives are on autopilot, uninteresting, uninspiring and we don't know where the hell we are going and what the point of anything is.. We feel like shit!

Right now I am looking how much progress you gained in two and a half year in your self-mastery, psychology and this drives me a lot, I start watching your videos few moth, and my life starts to become meaningful. If we win our ego, understand ourselves then there will be no boundaries at all. I am a kind of coming from place where I decided to change my life, and when I meet to your channel It's resonate with so much. I was exited. I am doing things right now what I could not imagine 5 month ago. I started learning a lot.. and I see it just the peak of the iceberg. You are a kind of life long personal development warrior. I am grateful to you Leo.

This is so true, I felt so tired all the time, got all checked, everything was alright and I still felt very tired almost always. What really helpt me was taking track of the levels of being tired, and what I was doing at the time, where I was and how I was feeling, so I found out when the energy was really low and at which state it was the highest, so I could work with that and improve my energy tremendesly

You are so right. I have several of the physical maladies that you mentioned [DM2, OSA, Obesity, Depression, Hypothyroid, etc]; but in the past 1-2 years since I retired; I find myself more and more lethargic, procrastinating, apathetic, etc. so that I get less and less accomplished because I feel purposeless and that it really doesn't matter to anyone [Alienated from only sibling & son; they are mad at me for things I said in error; and have subsequently apologized profusely for; but they have nothing to do with me anymore]; I have NO "passion" for anything anymore... I continue surviving because I don't know who would take care of my 3 annoying little dogs if I didn't. Purpose is the most important thing, as you brought to light in this video. I wish I could find a new one; I ask everyday for "hints" to guide me in my prayers & meditations. No messages yet.

Modern humans are shielded from the constant struggle to survive that our ancestors endured.
The result of the relative safety of modern times is that our minds and bodies settle to a lower state of activity like cattle.
The struggle to survive is now absent, so it is up to each individual to choose a life purpose and pursue it.
If your life lacks purpose, it's because you haven't chosen a purpose yet. It's that simple.
    Get moving or keep mooing.

I'm gonna get where you are (taking about physical side of energy). I'm having some adrenal issues (and so insomnia) and metabolism issues as well (candida, malabsorption). It's really refreshing to see that you've gone yourself through that road as well. I've got something important in my life worth fighting for, and a reason to stay in bed in the morning, and I've got plenty of "energy", but life doesn't have to have a purpose, and I'm not changing one bit, it turns out I don't need any psychology, I'm an ultraperfectionist, nothing of error has happened, I get up from my wake state from staying up all night, open my eyes up with a cup of coffee, eat a beegan/vegan breakfast, meditate when I get to it, and start typing on my computer getting ready for the day, then go to sleep, then wake up at night not repeating the process, and also typing on computer, listening to one of the 8 top favourite musical styles: classical, waltz, jazz, swing, cool jazz, Gershwin, church music or folk music, on the boombox or pocket radio, put on my Adelaide tie when going out to a fancy restaurant, in my dinner suit and fancy slacks and ol'-fashionedly classy blue-striped short-sleeved shirt, eating vegetarian Chinese food for around $10, I go home not quite stuffed, mainly taking it home to eat for the next small breakfast, acting like a Tibetan Buddhist, and show off to myself how special my Adelaide tie is at home, so I have a meaningful life, but I don't have purpose- plenty of energy. :)

Very interesting indeed. Thanks for uploading. I think you are right everyone needs a cause. Motivation to exercise is a tricky one and can depend on many things. I think it depends on the type of work outs you tend to like doing and when you do it. Sometimes if you work out before you go to bed you won't be able to speak! Then again it also depends on what types of exercises you do. If you do Tai Chi for example it may even help you get to sleep faster and feel energised when you awaken.

could you please post a video or simply respond to this comment with some good tips for waking up in the morning? I'm fairly emotionally inteleginet for my age so I've mastered a lot of what you talk about in your videos. The morning is the most important part of the day for me because it sets the mood for the rest of the day. I sleep on my back on the floor every night because it re-aligns my spine...what are some good tips for waking up bright eyed? I constantly find myself hitting snooze. I time out my sleep cycles so I know I get the right amount of sleep although my issue still won't go away.

    • @HummusPvm
      @HummusPvm 9 років тому

Sleeping on the floor on your back just to re align your spine is stupid as fuck. Think before you act.
You are consciously trying to fix your spine - but at the same time decreasing your sleep quality.
Bad posture etc is just an internal projection of the mind and if you feel "bent" in real life or feel like you've "plateaued" in what you're doing, it's time for a change. Fix your life and your body will follow.
Sleep comfortable however you'd like, but on the other hand exercise, do what you enjoy etc. gl

    • @josiewannner7906
      @josiewannner7906 8 років тому

my back has re aligned my spine and I sleep MUCH better than I used to, thank you very much.
Also, if you threw out your back, I would not continue obviously, but if you look into it more you would understand. My back was very sore the first few nights of sleeping on the floor, but it adjusted and now I feel amazing and wake up so much fresher.:)

I got blood work done and there was nothing wrong, I have also changed my diet and sleep to optimize myself, and though it helps, I still have no energy. You are right that it is a lack of purpose, and deep down I've known this, although I want to improve with basketball and other hobbies, it really isn't enough to get me out of bed. any suggestions/thoughts? thanks !

I think some of this advice is great- I agree with having purpose and passion etc. some of this advice is potentially dangerous. My main concern here is 50 supplements a day. I thought I had heard it wrong.
    - is everything you take a supplement for tested by a full blood work up? Vitamins are designed to fill gaps and bring levels up to normal. They are not designed to be taken long term.
    - if you are taking 50, it is VERY likely that some of them chemically react to each other, this can at best, do nothing other than make your bank account sad, and at worst, can create toxic reactions that can do both short and long term damage. Your body also processes vitamins in supplements differently than if you get the vitamin/ mineral from natural food.
    - there are numerous studies showing that MOST people don't need any supplants at all, particularly if they are of average health and living in a developed country
    - supplants are exactly that. They are supposed to 'supplement' your diet when there is a good reason that you are not getting these nutrients naturally. Once levels are normal, your diet should not have to be supplemented with anything
Also, I get out of bed each day feeling happy and energised, even when I don't have anything super important to do. I don't feel that I have no purpose... I'm not sure that is a way of thinking that will really help. Getting up on a 'low purpose' day is equally important- it's how many people recharge and gain more energy, by not always having a super important goal. One day a fortnight, I have a 'body and mind' half day, where I deliberately have no goals... in fact, my only goal is to fly under that radar and not be needed by anyone. That's how I have the energy on all the other days.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and passion with us, I enjoy many of your videos. I have been watching for some time: you our so much passion and energy into them and you have a wonderful attitude towards life. Thank you.

  • @TheEmperorAs
    @TheEmperorAs 10 років тому +6

    Hey Leo,
Just want to tell you, that I do not think taking that many supplements is an awesome idea. It is pretty expensive (although that probably might not be the main point for you) and if you really eat as clean and healthy as you say, you totally do not need them.
I think you should cut a lot of the unnecessary stuff and to not stress yourself with taking all kinds of pills and powders. The main thing is, that food all over the world (and especially in the US) has become fairly unhealthy, which is the reason for why all those supplements are so successful. I would reccommend you to be a bit more self aware here, especially because there are quite a few people out there following your advice and doing stuff you reccommend... And if you disagree with that, Id love to here why :)
But aside from that, keep up the good work

Hi Leo! I have a well paying job (that I'm only keeping because I don't have much savings and I have debt) but I'm beginning to just want to literally call them up and say "sorry guys, I have to quit." As a goody-too-shoes for 22 of my 24 year long life who was raised by extremely kind but very submissive parents, I have taken on similar values until I was sort of jolted awake through the misery associated with living a life that would make them happy, and now it's like...the idea of any authority figure in my life is absolutely enraging because I realize I was born on this fucking earth naked and free, and I don't appreciate anything that comes between me and my will or my ability to live on the planet under my rules.
I'm so fucking fed up with doing work for corporations and I've got to get out, but I'm in a bit of a debt trap. Did you, or do you know someone, who just said fuck it, quit their job with only 3 months saved and credit impending, and embarked on a journey to what-the-fuck land and made it? I've got passion, drive, and intelligence, and I have many ideas of how I want to utilize my passions through online stuff and all that. I know I could do it if I have the time.
Right now I haven't been focused on doing anything very well, but been trying to get myself to at least take action to make videos (that are way too long so who the hell is going to actually watch them, but at least I learning the initial logistics shit like dealing with uploads, figuring out transferring videos and photos).
But is 3 months (with debt payments impending) enough time for me to get my ass into gear? What if I can't pay rent? etc. I mean I can sell off random shit around the house, but like...what the fuck is this fear I have of not being able to make it? I feel like it's some sort of rationalization everyone around me has instilled in me that I am trying so hard to break free of...but I think I am fearing failure, and I also am dreading the conversations at work because if I leave, they will probably try to make me stay like a month at least because it would be hell for another person to take on what I do and it would be hell to train them, and all the documentation they would want me to produce sounds like hell on earth (I am building it up now to avoid the pain in the ass later, but there is still just so much to document), but I do respect my boss as she is quite a nice person and I don't want to hurt her. Or is that just what I think I'm thinking? Another fear is that what if I piss them all off, and everyone hates me and I have no contacts to get another job if I need it? Which is kind of what I'm in now - but I didn't really do anything wrong, I just left the job and didn't keep contact because I had no reason - I wasn't particularly great friends with anyone I've ever worked with. I think I a bit of a hidden fear of people hating me or something which is the cause of me continuing my submission to avoid conflict. Also, that shit I just said about what if I need another job sounds like bullshit too. Because if I'm out, I'm out for good, and will choose homelessness over fucking sitting in an office again.
I'm also afraid I'll only make enough to pay the bills and not enough to make investments in what I require to do what I want to do really well and with fun. Also one thing I want to do costs money for quality materials.
anyway...idk what I'm even really asking. I'm so confused and I'm definitely hitting this crossroad phase so hard and I just kind of want to vent to you. Maybe it's this: how do I have enough energy to force myself to do shit work for 10 hrs a day and also develop my interests at the same time so that when I jump, I at least have some semblance of a solid idea that I can offer the world? is it possible and I'm just being a little bitch? the answer is probably yes based on ur info. but I feel I'm making mental progress at least and I'm about to go even more ham than these tentative random videos lately. but when do I actually tell my job to fuck off? that is the dilemma literally keeping me up at night. I think it would be nice just to get your opinion on the matter. are you a balls deep kind of guy who just goes for it no matter what? or do certain financial conditions actually warrant waiting? is it just a moment where I feel the choice is so obvious I can't do anything but act?
whether or not you have time to read this horse shit or respond --THANK YOU for your amazing videos. I hope I can give you maybe another angle at which to see your potential audience through my story. just writing this all out was extremely eye-opening actually so..thanks for giving me a place to post my shit too ;)
and yes, this rant is coming at 3AM when I'm supposed to be finishing some reporting that makes me wanna shoot myself every second I look at it. lol!
the good news is...I saw how I felt a year ago about this exact problem cuz of some video logs and it's really making me look inside and some kind of shift is happening in me, I swear to god I am going to fuck the system from the inside out or I will have died without living.

+Noto V Hi there, not Leo but thought i'd try and help! Have you thought about cutting down your hours at work? That way you'll have a little more time to work on your dream career. I think going in "balls deep" may seem like a tempting way to do things (that way you can just say "fuck it" to your shit job and be done with it, right?) but I believe that it's best to combine that enthusiasm with some smarts and realism about your situation, quiting and hoping for the best in 3 months time doesn't always work out the way you'd hope it to! Though you may feel "ugh" about work it does give you financial stability while you're working towards your dreams! How about drawing up a detailed plan of what you want your ideal career to look like? And be specific! (Look into S.M.A.R.T goal setting) Where would you like to be in a months time/6 months time/1 year/2 year, etc. And from there set mini goals that you'd like to accomplish to get yourself to where you need to be, faster and more effectively. Set aside a concrete time during the day/week that is specifically dedicated to working on these goals and that way you can track your progress and start seeing results!

+Vickie Cuxson you have got an extremely good point. I think I was just really pissed off and probably a little mentally unstable because I didn't sleep at all for a whole night just to get a pointless report done in the morning, so...2 hours of sleep for 2 days after my last sleep. At least I was totally prepared for my meeting, lol. I've only ever stayed up a whole night twice and then I fell asleep at 7 am, so this is the first time I ever actually went through a full day on 1 hour of sleep. It was really surreal...and extreme emotions of rage welled up in me that I have not felt in years, so.. Lol!
Now that I have gotten some rest I've come to the realization that while I definitely hate staying up all night to do something I hate, I think I can find ways to never have to do that again - and it does in fact give me money to do the things I truly want and that I should probably focus on building what I want in my spare time. I can't exactly cut down on hours because there is no one else to help me, but I will tell my manager I am overwhelmed and that I need something like fewer hours. Not sure how it will play out but..yeah. If I could make it through the strange emotional shit I felt during that time I feel like I can survive anything now, so...WHAT DONT KILL YOU MAKES YOU STRONGER! it's true, I'm amazed!
the good news is in the time I didn't sleep I got suddenly got this INSANE inspiration to actually work on a project of mine (a costume for a convention) because I didn't want to waste the day and I felt really fucking good about life because I did something for myself. It was so...fucking...satisfying to work with my hands, sand shit, cut stuff, trace things, and MAKE something after doing that. It was better than any sort of brainless crap I might do normally when I'm tired and want to use that as an excuse not to work on myself.
I think I've learned jumping may not be the right thing to do if it feels like an insane hurdle. I mean how am I going to pay for the things I need to create quality things if I have no money? work even more hours at a lower paying job is not the answer..
so Vickie, thank you so much for responding. I do need to set some plans to formalize my thought process and give myself hope that I am building a way out for myself. I've done mindmapping before and really just building out concepts, figuring out WHAT I really like to do, where I want to focus, but developing actionable plans is something I haven't yet done. It is just so amazing to receive such support on youtube, so again thank you!!!

haha, i've totally had those kinds of nights, I sometimes enjoy the hysteria that comes with being sleep deprived, guess it shakes up my routine a bit! That's awesome! Glad you got inspired :) Positive action usually serves as a catalyst/motivation for further action. I know if i'm stuck in a rut and I quite literally FORCE myself into a productive activity the feeling i get from accomplishing something worthwhile is usually enough to motivate me further. That's it, an action plan is definitely the way to go! I used to be a wishful thinker and thought "well the right time will come soon, an opportunity is just round the corner" until a friend of mine (and this channel too) kind of kicked me into action by asking me "How are you going to get to where you want to be? What are the specifics?" E.g. What education might you need? What skills are you currently lacking? What people do you need to network with? And made me realise at the end of the day, it's MY responsibility to create the kind of life I want to live. That's alright, glad to help! :)

supplements not work ( health is not about vitamins and minerals ), what helps is the natural nutrition, what is
carnivore ( mainly or only, grass fed, raw and red. meat is ; life-force/energy / give take/sacrifice spiritual/spirit-ism,
because, mind/mental over "matter/body etc" ), with little fruits ( take usually, no bananas, no acid fruits, and not much fiber,
through a day ), so carbs are for brain and meat for grow up your flesh / meat -body, then body works ( blood-flow is good ).
      -
see, is called, govern-ment(al) or Non G. Organisation, who says forever, eat less / little meat, meat-fat and red is bad.
and church banned magic-use and burned ( censored ) witches and knowledge-books.
so, of course you, parents, friends, etc came from nothing and monkeys, and started as fish. really respectful.

Hi Leo, I just wanted to give you an insight on supplements. Almost all of them are not beneficial. Most of them are really not good for you. Try to get all of your micro nutrients from real foods (no processed). For more information check out nutritionfacts.org (not profit site).
I love your videos - keep on posting them and stay strong :)!
    Greetings, Andreas

+SuperUsefulMan yes. Do you where b12 comes from? It's not the meat but the gut and feces bacteria inside of animals. The Human gut bacteria produce it as well, but I prefer not to eat animal or human poop :)

I have energy problems too. Of course being 280lbs at 5'9 and drinking a 20pack every few nights doesn't help lmao. There are psychological ways. Music is one for me. And yes, I have been cutting down on all the bs. I've gotten to the point i've lost interests in almost everything and that sucks. I think I may have to stop reading most of the news everything just sucks so bad now.
