There are a lot of references and wordplay in this song. In Russia there was a very famous musician Egor Letov, he has a very famous song "Everything goes according to plan". The surname "Letov" is consonant with the Russian word "leto" - summer. "It's purple" means "I don't care".
I have such trouble finding good translations. It's fine for the fun songs like In Peter We Drink but sometimes, particularly lately, Cord has something to say on politics and culture in his lyrics but in translation it is _impossible_ to tell what is sincere and what is ironic.

Leningrad is very famous in Russia since 90-s. This band was formed by Sergey Shnurov (groom at the end of song), and this is entirely his project. At first his image was all about alcohol, sex and gopnik lifestyle, but mid 10-s he completely change it and start creating short musical clips with satire to everyday women problems. It started with song called Exhibit, where girl is trying to impress her date by painting her shoe sole into red by nail polish to mimic Louboutins

Leningrad made a few absolutely genius music videos. My favourite is Вояж (Voyage) closely followed by В Питере пить (In Peterburg we drink). Sadly lately they've been putting out a bunch of low quality clips like from an assembly line.
